From: djmaryb@NO_UCEs_mindspring.com (mary b) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 10/22 Date: Sat, 25 Oct 1997 19:23:46 -0500 X-Server-Date: 26 Oct 1997 00:18:17 GMT Imagine if Every Day Felt Like Wednesday Brownstone Lonnie was at the stoop door, demanding his Native American doll back. Filly, skeptical about his claim to be one of Maria's ex-ranch hands, said she'd check his story with her Grandmother. As Lonnie reached inside his coat, Mac appeared, to save the day by whipping the man into a headlock. Turned out, he was only reaching for a photo of his late wife - who made the doll. From there, we were treated to Native American philosophy, GH style. When quizzed on why he buried the doll in the first place, he said it was out of bitterness at their break-up. (This was before she died.) After hearing his sad tale, Felicia and Mac agreed it best the doll return to its rightful keeper. Maxie came home from school and wanted to know who the strange man was that had her doll. When Filly explained everything, Maxie regretfully kissed the doll goodbye. At the sight of this, though, Lonnie had a change of heart and decided the doll belonged with the child. End of story. (updaters note: they weren't kidding about sweeping some of those stories right the heck off the canvas, were they?) (non-hanger) Outback Monica and Bobbie enjoyed lunch and gossip, especially gossip about Carly. La Boobstressa went off on every wrong Carly had ever done her - called her a sociopath - while Dr. Monica clucked along. Although Bobbie tried to pump her gal pal for the AJ scoop, Monica wouldn't divulge - not her secret to tell, she explained, ****possible foreshadowing?***** and then was heard to say that if she caught Carly anywhere near her dear son again, she'd kill the tramp. Bobbie offered to help. ****back to your regularly scheduled update****** Bobbie also mentioned what she thought was Alan's unusual behavior, but Monica remained in denial mode. Hospital Carly was laying it thick - her Fla pal was injured and possibly in need of a kidney transplant. And it was her duty, as dear JJ's only close friend in the whole wide world, to head south to watch over her busom buddy. Tony wouldn't have the trip this late in Carly's pregnancy though, putting a definite crimp in her plans. She stamped her foot, cajoled, but Tony refused to let her get on a plane...instead he recommended that he could have a colleague look in on the situation, but Carly became conveniently vague on what hospital her friend was in. Nooooooooooo, Carly wigged, it's not a doctor JJ needed, but a friend. Tony did not budge. AJ overheard some of this, and offered Carly sympathy, but she wasn't in the mood. She then tried to talk him into having a man-to- man word with Tony about how important female friendships are, in an effort to change his mind. AJ declined. When Carly wandered off to the phones, Bobbie butted in, wanting to know what was going on...AJ mentioned, in passing, Carly's due date as he knew it - December. After which, Bobbie conveniently bumped into Tony, and re-confirmed what he'd previously told her. Late January. Smugly, she smiled just like the proverbal cat with the canary, and went over to find out what due date Carly would quote to *her.* (catfight-hanger) Penthouse Brenda tried to salvage Jax' overhearing Julia's advice - to hang onto himself. Julia left, embarrassed, and Brenda reeled off all of her sister's faults the second she was out the door, then thanked her once fianceé for bringing Julia to town - so she could finally tell her she "ain't all that." The two settled in for a talk...while Jax did try to be peacemaker, Brenda was all thanks, but no thanks, and ran off her list of how Julia and Harlan wronged the baby of the family. Along with Julia's list of What's Wrong With Brenda. Some of which, Jax said, maybe were valid points. Especially the one about how Bren had tried to replace her dad with Sonny. After more of the psychotherapy session, Julia returned and announced her impending departure; Brenda had a change of heart and kinda sorta apologized and invited her sister to stay for breakfast. (updaters note: breakfast? But Maxie just got home from school. Bobbie and Monica just had lunch.) They hugged. (hankie-hanger) mary
