Update for "The Brenda Show" (still known in some quarters as
General Hospital) for Monday 10/20/97--

Jax's place-- Julia and Jax confer after Brenda slams the door in
her sister's face.  Julia's sorry that Brenda's so upset--she plans
to return to England.  Brenda suddenly appears, telling her sister
to wait. The three of them drink coffee and make nice.  Julia
remembers old times, including the Qs--"Jason was always a nice
guy..."  she shuts up as Brenda glares at her.  That's right,
Brender agrees, he was real nice until he lost half his brain in an
accident and became Sonny's henchman.  And it was Jason who told her
at the church was a no-show. But maybe if Julia bothered to show up
herself, she'd know this! "My God, Brenda, you were about to marry a
criminal!"  Big Sis cries. Brenda's pissed.  Why didn't she come to
Brender's first (non) wedding to Jax?  Wasn't he respectable enough?
 Julia tries to explain the demands that kept her away from
Brender's many non-weddings. But she is sorry that kid sis was hurt
so badly.  Brender's itchin' for a fight.  Oh, I guess you think I'm
stupid, huh?

High school high and Audrey's house-- Since even Brender can't have
the entire show devoted to the many problems of her life, we now
switch to an equally asinine story line. Sarah confronts LizzieBrat.
 She knows Brat stole the test answers. She promises to blow the
whistle to everybody.  Bratsie sneers "Don't expect me to say I'm
sorry.  I only wish I'd framed you sooner." Sarah chases Bratsie
back to Audrey's.  Why does Brat hate Sarah, the big sis cries?
Aren't sisters supposed to stick together through everything? "I
hate you, Sarah.  I just plain hate you," LizzieBrat hisses. Brat
complains how everybody loves Sarah and nobody likes her. If they
weren;t related, Sarah wouldn't give her the time of day. Well, she
won't  have Bratsie Webber to kick around much longer! Audrey wants
to know what the all the commotion is.  Is it about Nik?  Audrey
conveniently must leave immediately for the hospital, but you can
bet she'll want an explanation first thing in the morning!

Kat's place-- Kat threatens Stef that she will tell Nik how badly
Stef hurted her feewings.  Doesn't he care if Nik hates him?  The
Bat puts her swiftly in her place, ranting about "bonds of blood".
Kat gets upset and overturns a pitcher of water.  "Get out" she
screams at Stef.  Nik arrives on crutches.  "Katherine, are you all
right?" Bat wants Nik to git.  Nik looks at Kat--does she want him
to go? Nope.  Nik stays, Bat leaves in a huff.  Nik still wants to
know what's wrong. Kat tries to give a feeble excuse, but Nik cuts
her off. His mother was a much better liar, he tells her.  She lied
so well that she even had him believing her. Nik tells her he's not
dumb.  He knows something is going on. Kat admits that she left her
PR job at GH.  Did she resign or did his uncle give her   the
heave-ho?  Kat hedges.  Nik gets up to leave. He's used to being
lied to--he's just sorry that she turned out to be one of the liars
in his life. Alone, Kat recalls an earlier discussion with Luke,
where he told her that she can be a weapon to make Stefan lose his
control.  "If that's what it takes," she mutters, "then so be it."

The docks-- Luke taunts Alexis.  Isn't she sick of being the
Cassadine clean-up crew, always picking up after Stefan's messes?
And he knows that she can see through Blondie, too.  Just how far
would she go to get rid of a pesky Kitty-Kat? Luke knows that Stef
shot Kat and then tried to blame him. Alexis informs him that they
have nothing to discuss.  Does she think that he's sporting a wire?
He offers to let her search him. Madam is not amused.  Go back home
to Switzerland, she tells him. Luke gnaws his cee-gar and remarks
(once she's gone) "Switzerland ain't my home, baby, any more than
Spoon Island is yours."  (Who you callin' baby, buster?)

Munster Mansion-- Drac and Igor once again huddle worried-style.
What did Kat say to Nik?  Nik appears, wanting to know what they're
discussing.  They clam up, of course, and Nik tells them not worry,
Kat didn't tell him anything, either. Back at the docks, Luke calls
Laura from his cell phone.  He will be staying in PC longer than
anticipated.  He has just discovered a new way to stick it to
Stefan.

Back at Jax's place-- We now return to our regularly scheduled hour
of Brenda.  She asks Julia if she would have returned at all if Jax
didn't intervene. Julia shame-facedly admits that no, probably not.
Distance made it too easy to make excuses.  Before she leaves, she
spots the Nancy Drew collection, and admits that she always knew
that Brenda used to snitch her books.  The ladies connect for a
moment. Alone with his Brender, Jax tells her the dumbest thing
Julia ever did was let Brender out of her life.  They make goony
eyes at each other and hold hands...awww...or should I say
*AUGHHHH*?
