From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: UPDATE THURSDAY OCTOBER 2 Date: Mon, 20 Oct 1997 15:36:44 GMT UPDATE THURSDAY OCTOBER 2 Your Fearless Updater's tape ran out on the last 20 minutes, but I read the TV Guide update, and don't appear to have missed anything spectacular. [A number of snide comments about the last year of Thursdays skipped: you all know what I would say anyway!] 1. THE CLAWS FLASH, SORTA Lois introduces herself to Alexis and rescues BrookLynn. She wants to know if Alexis got to know Ned in the courtroom while defending Monica. For once, Alexis is a bit embarrassed. Lois wants to know if Alexis is at the Quartermaines "legally" and Alexis assures her she's not there ILlegally. Lois figures she and Ned have a lot in common, both being the keepers of the skeletons in the closet. Alexis really prefers "gatekeeper"! Lois asks if Ned and Alexis are stepping out. Emily comes in to take the baby for a walk, and Alexis makes her escape. Emily wishes Lois could stay longer. Emily feels all inbetween grownup and child. She apologizes to Lois for the diary and Lois assures her the breakup wasn't her fault. Lois tells Emily to concentrate on what we CAN be. Emily leaves and Lois looks around. Lila tells her that Emily is supervising Edward. Lois asks Lila about Ned and Alexis. 2. TIS A FAR FAR BETTER THING... OH, WAIT, WRONG BOOK Sarah has no idea where the test answers came from. Mr. Murty tells her to leave. Nik then stands up and claims he took them, and he also borrowed Sarah's pen. Murty sends him off and gives the test. 3. BOTH FELICIA AND V STUDY UP V. is at the Outback on the phone when Felicia bubbles up to the bar. Felicia is looking for a package from Port Charles University anthropology department. She's sent pictures of the doll and is hoping for some information. [Why didn't she just pop over in person?] Mac is surprised she's that serious. Felicia regards his comment as "condescending" and huffs off. V. flashes back to Jax and the pictures she drew. Mac tries to get her attention. Felicia sulks back in and mac apologizes. Felicia says she doesn't like being patronized when she's thinking about her Aztec roots. [Your Fearless Updater, having read the book, wonders when F. will plunge the stone knife into Maxie! YFU is not too sure about Aztec roots, in fact.] Mac has the package. V. asks for a bottle of champagne to seal a deal she and Jax are working on with someone. She asks Mac about Jax in Australia. (Meanwhile, Jax is besotted with BrainDead. Grumble.) Felicia remarks that the doll could be Hopi or Zuni, not Apache, but it was buried by someone else. Lonnie goes to see Mariah in Texas. He is looking for the doll. Jax finally makes it to the Outback, and V is sketching. 4. IF I CAN'T HAVE MY MAN, ANY MAN WILL DO Jax greets Brenda at the Gatehouse. She tells him about Lois. She says she's (Brenda) there to hide from the Quartermaines. He invites her to the movies. She doesn't feel like going anywhere. He's actually brought the movies to her. He has, he says, a documentary about the demise of the rain forest, or maybe she's like to see the uncut version of "Alexander at Neskie"[?] or there's also the entire BBC version of "Bleak House." [Your Fearless Updater would like to see that!] Brenda bursts out laughing. Jax brings in a popcorn amchine, soda machine, candy stand. This is the Brenda Bijou. He's put together some old silents and some 3D shorts. He hands her the 3D glasses. "You aren't staying?" she begs. [Poor V!] She wants chocolate covered raisins and lemon drops. Brenda is crying. The phone rings and it's V. Jax isn't going to the meeting, but Brenda argues, telling him not to insult her by coddling her. He leaves and runs into Lois. They discuss Brenda, who is sitting in the dark, miserable, letting the movie wash over her. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, mouse-pushing wacko, member of SESIDAR Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional. jyarnot@netcom.com Putting the fun in "dysfunctional." http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/5144/
