Today's stories: Kat/Bat; Lois hits town; the teen
scene; debate over Brenda's broken heart; and a
small dose of AJ/Carly.

Stefan and Kate duked out her professional redundancy
while the rest of the hosptial staff looked on in
fascination & embarrassment. Katherine was
utterly confused, refused to buy his act at first,
then was just plain bewildered.

As the gossip went around: Alan was miffed that
Stefan fired her without consulting his chief o'staff;
Audrey knew there was something not-quite legit
about Stef's claim the Kat misinterpreted their
relationship (gossip from Sarah); Katherine decided
to fight for her job; Stefan informed Alexis that
he was prepping to meet with a representative
from Jakarta.

Lois popped in to cheer up Brenda. Oddly, she seemed
unaffected to be hanging out at the cottage she
shared with Ned. The two, along with Emily & Lila
catch up and gossip about their families
and eventually Lila & Em gave the girlfriends
some privacy.
Lois attempted to comfort her friend by saying,
"Yes, he did love you, but he's a screw-up."
In not so few words.

(we learn: paparazzi are comaped outside; Emily
knows how to change a diaper)

Back at the mansion, Jax was cooling his heels when
Jason stuck his head (bad hair day) in - the two
started sparring immediately, and Jax pointed out
how very odd it was that Sonny supposedly wants
nothing to do with Brenda, but has Morgan watch-
dogging her.

After a bout of taunts all around, Edward stepped in
and told them both to get lost - Brenda's under
*his* protection. After Jax got Brenda's vital
signs report and left, Ed turned on Jason and
wanted to know what's being done with Sonny's
ELQ stock.
Edward called Jason on his tuff-boy act, and
told him to either give it up and rejoin the
family, or vanish.

As Morgan's trying to leave, Jax corners him again
to warn him off Brenda.

Later, still at the big house, Alexis dropped in and met
Ned's daughter, Brook Lyn. While she was cradling
the child, Lois appeared in time to hear her say "I know
your daddy." (cliffhanger)

At PC high, the kiddies were getting ready for their
big quiz on Bronte; Miss Lizzie used to occasion to
set up her sister: she snagged the answer key to
the test and left Sarah's "lucky pen" in its place,
then snuck the key into Sarah's purse.

"Somebody lose this?" their teacher asked, holding
up the pen. Eventually, he accused Sarah of cheating
(cliff-hanger).

AJ & Monica had a pow-wow in the PT room, where
AJ tried to get her to back off on unmasking Carly
over the drinking set-up. He reminded Monica of the
conflicts surrounding his own birth, and said he
didn't want that to happen to Carly & Tony's baby.
Monica relented, but couldn't resist a mini-confrontation
with (my pred) her future daughter-in-law (or something
like it) on the way out.

Carly high-tailed it to AJ and found out that he refrained
from telling Mum about their horizontal-bop; when she
thanked him for that, AJ called the spade a spade and
split (not really a cliff-hanger).

Final cliff-hanger: Jax showed up at Brenda's door (hey,
it's Wednesday, what do you want: a gun going off?)
