Update for General Hospital, Monday 9/29/97

Previously on GH:  Tarzan (I mean Jax) breaks down Brenda's
door/
Keesha spills the beans to Monica

General Hospital lobby or someplace--
  Keesha promises Monica that AJ's "slip" was not real--but she
backs off at telling how much she knows.  Monica get downright
scary and tells Keesha she better not clam up now.  She wants
the whole story.  Well, AJ was set up by Carly.  She drugged
him, left him in the alley and also bribed the bartender to lie.
        Monica is outraged at Carly's duplicity.  But why did she do
it?  Nobody knows, and AJ's not saying why he won't bust Carly
to Tony.  Monica plans to confront Carly immediately.  "She may
be able to 'cute' her way past most people, but I plan to get
some straight answers."  At this moment Dr. Clueless (Tony)
bumbles in and wonders why the two ladies are discussing his
sweetie-pie.

Mercy Hospital--
                Carly and AJ are there for the sonogram.  Lorraine takes Carly
aside and wants to know what rich AJ Quartermaine has to do with
Carly's predicament. Lorraine's price has just increased, seeing
the rich kid is involved.  Carly promises her whatever she wants
after they pull off their scam.
  AJ wants to accompany Carly to the procedure.  She tries to
weasel out of it.  As they call each other "sweetie" and "honey"
through gritted teeth (they are pretending to be Mr. and Mrs.
Somebody)they argue the point.  Finally AJ has to threaten to
blow the whistle to Tony before Carly relents.
  Inside the room, they meet the doctor who tells them to call
him "Flip" (God help us!).  Does the happy couple want to know
their baby's sex?  No, AJ answers, but they would like to
pinpoint the due date.
  Carly gets mushy seeing the fetal image onscreen, and AJ does
as well.  He forgets himself and starts stroking Carly's hair as
they watch the baby move around and scratch its nose.  "You do
good work," he murmurs to Carly. (Uh oh.  Things do not look
good for my buddy Keesha!)  Then he snaps out of it, asking the
doctor to tell them the exact due date.
  Lorraine hurries in to announce to Dr. Flip that he's needed
in an emergency breach-birth.(sp?)  He hurries off, telling
Lorraine to make sure the couple waits for his return--he wants
to talk to them.  Lorraine then tells them that they can go home
now--they're done.  Carly mouths her thanks to her partner in
crime.
   Later Lorraine hands them some papers that include the phony
December due date. Does AJ look disappointed or relieved?  When
he goes, Lorraine reminds Carly to come up with another check.
"Thank you, God," Carly chirps to herself.  "All my problems are
over."

  Windy-mere--
  Things are especially windy tonight as Kat and Stef go on for
the eleventy-hundredth time about why she knows he still loves
her and how he says it was all an act. He tells her to scram (in
a multi-syllabic version, of course).  She tells him that it
ain't over yet.  Nik and Sarah stumble in and Nik comments that
Kat seems upset before they whisk out again. (The kids had their
very own scene earlier where they almost got kissy-face, but it
was too vomitous to go into in detail).  Muttering more threats,
Kat leaves, and Alexis appears.  Drac and Igor put their heads
together worried-style. She makes some phony sympathy noises
about him breaking off with Kat, and he resolves to do "what a
Cassadine's gotta do". We've seen it all before.

  Brenda's place--
  After Tarzan busts down the door, Brenda melts into his arms
(what, no running-jump-and-straddle this time? Aww.) She fills
him in on how Sonny gave her the big dump while she blindly went
along with everything, never imagining how it would turn out.
Jax makes sympathetic sounds and looks at her with puppy-dog
eyes.
  Brenda says she's sorry--she hates putting Jax through this,
crying on his shoulder about another man.  Jax tells her not to
worry--she's a friend, and he only wants to help (yuh, right).
  Edward Q storms in.  "IS this man harrassing you?"  He eyes
Jax disapprovingly.  He tells her that she has upset his family
terribly and their is only one way to solve their worries.  She
must move in with them toot sweet.  After a few moments, she
agrees.

  Back at GH--
   Monica manages not to blab all to Tony.  She later informs
Keesha that she's not gonna tell nobody nothin' until she gets a
chance to meet with Ms. Roberts and tear her a new
you-know-what.
