From: djmaryb@mindspring.com (mary b) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 8/20 Date: Wed, 27 Aug 1997 16:59:32 -0500 my apologies over the ones still late in coming. an update enema is on the way While Sarah was busy setting Nikolas straight re: her friendship with Lucky, Elizabitch was trying to throw her 98 lbs around to get into the volunteer program (so she could better stalk Lucky), pleading her case to Audrey. As Stefan entered the conversation, Lizzie gave him the brush-off before she found out who he was. Oops. After Elizabeth wandered away and she'd finished talking to Stefan about the courtship of Nik & Sarah, Audrey confessed to Bobbie that she wasn't entirely hot on the idea that, considering that Nik's uncle may have been indirectly responsible for the death of Sarah's grandfather. Bobbie tried to reassure her, by way of saying there's no proof of it. Back in the rec room, Nik & Sarah bonded over his memories of childhood the Cassadine way, and they set up a date. Elizabeth reappeared, this time with a little sugar, well, saccharine, and got Nik to at least consider letting her into the program. Later, Nik informed his uncle that he would consider moving back to Spoon Island, under conditions, the main one being that he could drop the tutors and attend Port Charles High. At the Q's, the family was in a quandry over what to do, what to do, what to do about AJs fall. Eventually, half the tribe started ganging up on gatekeeper Ned and his control issues. Even Monica brushed him off. Later, Brenda stopped by to tell everyone about her engagement. Everyone said congrats, we know you and Jax will be very happy. After they found out that the groom would be Sonny, they eventually came around. Or at least pretended to. Ned saw her out, then got yet more flack on his AJ position. While the family was discussing the subject, Emily walked in and finally was informed. As for AJ, he started the day w/a visit from his nemesis/psychic twin Carly. With AJ going thru the perpetual motions of "how could I..." and other self loathing quips, Carly reminded him of his pledge to check himself into a rehab far, far, far away from Port Charles should he slip again. He left for work. Out in the hall, Carly bumped into Jimmy, who was being a brat, demanding his gum for keeping quiet about her after hours laundry activity. With pockets empty of gum, Carly pulled out a fiver and more or less said "beat it, kid." At the hospital, Keesha was starting her first day as an assistant social worker; after seeing an icy scene between Alans Sr & Jr, she got the poop from Jr. She was surprised, she said, especially since AJ'd been on such an upswing. While he recounted the details he didn't remember, Keesha had an odd, far away look on her face. At the Outback, Jax popped into to watch over V, who was finding out if she still had a job. She didn't. Not because she was a bad cop, the commish told her, but because of budget cuts. He then made poor V cough up half the tab. Mac talked Dara into performing at the club. While Brenda was out, Mike dropped over at Sonny's and presented him with a beautiful ring, that turned out to have been the engagement ring he'd given to Sonny's mom. The story behind the ring was, after losing his shirt at the track, a friend approached him with "a sure deal." So, to raise the cash, Mike pawned his watch; but, as he was being handed the cash, he spotted the ring and figured his woman was a "surer deal." Later, when she remarried Deke, she gave the ring back to Mike. After holding onto it the remaining years, Mike wanted Sonny to give the ring a second chance at actually being a til-death-do-us-part ring by way of Brenda. After Mike left, Brenda came back and Sonny went down on bended knee. mary -- FAC Bobby's (Departing) Trust Fund, MHGC Stefan, FGC Luke, FGCO Duke & Anna, BABE, PBSDT Corporal, Rogue FGB Clue Shop, FOC Kelly, Keeper of the Hopefully Returning Je Ne Sais Quoi
