Subject: Date: 09/16 7:21 PM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com UPDATE THURSDAY AUGUST 14 Flashback Count: 2 TWO MANIPULATIVE B****ES AND A BIG YAWN MB#1 Carly, having been caught with her hand in the cookie jar (in this case, Tony's bag. Any idea why Tony doesn't take it with him instead of leaving it around for Carly to rummage in?) has escaped to the bathroom with a convenient case of morning sickness. She lies (what a surprise!) and tells Tony she was looking for antacid. Tony calls the doctor, and lectures Carly, and tells her about saltines. She sends him back to work, after a little talk about the wedding. Once Tony's safely gone, Carly continues her setup. She calls Mick at Neptune's Net. He tells her that for $100 he'd even remember his ex-wife's birthday. [Lessee, Carly is averaging one blackmailer every six months. Why doesn't she learn?] The laundry cart (to move furniture, sez herself) is delivered. The landlord offers to help her cart her stuff around, but she gets rid of him. Carly has a flashback of sweet AJ giving her the baby toy, and of Bobbie saying she'd betray her best friend. She looks at the pills and knocks on AJ's door. He's not dressed. He's shaved. She tells him she's cancelling dinner, since Tony can't come. AJ, lamb to the slaughter, wants to go anyway. She comes in. AJ calls his apartment the "unmansion." He keeps thinking about his blackout. They talk about Tony's proposal. She asks for a drink. She puts the pills into it and hands it to AJ. He tells her: "You deserve to be happy, Carly. Don't let any one or anything take it from you." "I won't" she replies. "L'chaim", they toast. THE YAWN Brenda and Sonny are talking to a cop. All the charges have been dropped. Brenda did NOT really flee from justice. She did NOT forge evidence. B&S hug. Jax and V. come in, and Sonny thanks Jax: "I owe you one." "Well, next time I need someone taken care of, I'll give you a call." Brenda thanks B. V. is jumpy, since she doesn't like flying (atoll, any more.) Jax apologizes to her. Then it's Sonny's turn. They talk about the Tin Man. "You're not a nice man, Mr. Corinthos --- you're charming and very persuasive --- there's not much difference between you and the man we both watched die, so if it's all the same -- I'd like to end our acquaintance right here.... I hope somebody catches you someday." Brenda and Sonny are the last ones standing. MB#2 (with a "reformed" MB on the side.) Elizabeth is practicing waitressing (waitpersoning?) and Sarah dashes by. She asks Audrey what to wear. She's surprisde to find out about Lizzie's job. [Sarah brings on a lot of her own problems with Lil Sis herself, in my opinion.] Sarah and Audrey discuss men. Sarah tries to call Nik, but doesn't say anything when he picks up the phone. Meanwhile, back at the Penthouse, Katherine wants to know who was on the phone. She wants Nik to stay for her party. He, sensibly enough, wants anything but. The doorbell rings, and it's Alexis and Stefan. Katherine tries to give a Russian toast for his birthday. Stefan tells her she's said "May your beets be ripe and may you have many large rocks in your hat." [Good for her! How appropos!] They waste the glasses in the fireplace. Good thing Katherine is rolling in the dough, right? Stefan gets mushy over the blonde, too [Kat and Bat. Thank you, Allynn!!!] He speaks Russian and she gets jumpy. She doesn't understand his need for control. Alexis, thank goodness, interrupts the moment. They talk about Katherine's mother. ["Oh, By The Way, do you have any pictures of your mother lying around?" I know this is always a sure-fire conversation piece in Your Fearless Updater's life!] Audrey removes the earphones from Elizabeth's head. She'll lose her hearing. [Huh?] Audrey is going to the hospital and will leave Elizabeth alone. She thinks Liz will be happy there. Alone, Liz tears a button off Sarah's sweater. "Whoops." Then she takes her cigs out and plots. Sarah and Lucky are sitting with friends. When Lucky disappears, the girls dish about that gorgeous Nikolas Cassadine, and Lucky's crush. The station, WLPC, plays Nik's song, and Sarah gets dreamyeyed. Nik watches from behind a tree.
