  GH update for Monday, 8/11/97

Pre-update mini-whine: Wahhh! Why can't I ever get a *good*
show to update, like last friday's Alan and Monica anniversary
show?

Previously on GH: ElizaBRAT talks nasty to Lucky/Alex gives
Stef "Something interesting" to look at
  Rivera's Mansion, Tiger Key--or "The Sonny/Brenda Stupidity
Hour"
Sonny taunts Rivera and Tin Man--his "people" will come and
rescue him. An alarm goes off and a voice from outside cries
out for help. Of course, *all* the guys leave the room and
find V at the front door. She falls to the floor, crying
"Help me!" In the other room, Jax appears in the window.
V tells the bad guys that her car broke down and she came
looking for help. Meanwhile, Jax enters the window unseen.
He and Brenda waste precious moments crawling all over each
other, but finally he picks the lock on Sonny's handcuffs and
disappears round the corner when the bad guys return with V.
TIn Man demands to know who she is, threatening to blow her
brains out. How did she get through security? "Whoever you
came with is going home alone." Jax dashes out and grapples
with TM. As they struggle, Rivera pulls out a pistol and
tells Jax to stop. "Or these two [S&B] will die."
In a totally stupid sequence, the women get tied up when
Sonny goes after one of the thugs and Jax follows suit. V
gets into the act and knees one of the guys with her hands
tied behind her. Brenda is of great assistance screaming and
generally acting helpless. The superheroes save the day and
overpower the bad guys.
But apparently, no one was smart enough to relieve Rivera
of his weapon. He makes to shoot Brenda, but Sonny shoots him
instead. "You'll never get what you want," Rivera croaks as
he croaks. "Not with her..." Our heroes stare at him.
Meanwhile TM lies on the floor, seemingly unconscious. His
eyes flicker. His hand lies only inches away from a gun.

  At Windy-mere: "Expositions R Us"
Stefan opens the envelope Alexis gives him--photos of the
family. He doesn't remember ever seeing any of them before.
Al tells him they were from Mikkos' private collection--he
kept them well hidden from a jealous Helena. Stef looks at a
picture of a strange woman with his father. Is this the
mysterious Kristen, apparently the only woman his father ever
really loved? It was whispered that she gave birth to Mikkos'
love child, but both the mother and baby died during the
birth. The baby was christened Natasha. Stefan muses that he
would have liked having a sister. (Uh-oh! Can you see where
this is heading?)
They discuss a rumor that Kristen and Natasha may not have
died in childbirth, but instead was the victim of Helena's
jealousy. There is no proof of this, but Stefan would not put
it past his mother.
The talk strays to Nikolas--Alexis suggests they arrange a
family dinner at Kat's place, to show Nik that they approve
his choice to live his own life. Once Al is alone, she calls
Leo and tells him that Stefan accepted the (doctored?) photos
without question.

Kat's apartment--or "Mommy, Do I Really Have to Watch This
Part?"
Nik regales Katherine with Sarah's many virtues. This part
was pretty bad.
Kat did get one cute line, though. Nik is standing up
eating some concoction when she enters the room. He asks her
if she'd like some of his snack. She replies: "No, thanks.
I only eat standing up when I'm miserable." (Ha! I can
identify with that!)

  Audrey's House--or "I Was a Teenage Hormone"
Sarah's taken aback that her Gran doesn't seem to approve of
her "Friendship" with Nik. Audrey says she always found Nik
to be polite and nice, but should Sarah limit herself to just
seeing one boy? Sarah tries to explain her attraction to
Nik--he's different from other boys, more sincere, not
interested in looking "cool".
Sarah tries to pump Audrey for info on Nik's family.
Audrey's rather close-mouthed, perhaps not wanting her own
distaste for the Cassadines to color the girl's feelings for
Nikolas. She tells Sarah that Nik and Lucky have entirely
different views of their mother Laura. If Sarah gets into the
middle of that, she may make matters worse. If she really
cares about Nik "that Way", Audrey advises her to let Lucky
know, so that there are no misunderstandings.
Audrey is concerned that Elizabeth is still out--it's
getting late. Sarah offers to go find her, but soon returns.
The car is missing. Sarah and Audrey look at each other:
"Elizabeth".
Meanwhile, outside Ruby's place, ElizaBRAT is smirking
suggestively at LUcky and waving her cigarette around. They
trade what is I guess supposed to be witty repartee. Brat
wants to know where they can get a beer. Lucky wants to know
if she'd like to get arrested. All right, Bratsie says, they
can get a soda--as long as they don't go to Kelly's. She then
starts dissing Ruby, calling her "crone" and "hag", until
Lucky announces: "She's my aunt."
They discuss their family a bit more, and both of them
learn they have something in common--they each have an older
sibling that they cannot stand.
Later, when da Brat sneaks home, Audrey busts her. Bratsie
apologizes and promises to take whatever punishment that her
Gran doles out (Yeah, sure.) Audrey lets her off entirely too
easily, IMO. Lizzie announces her important decision--she
plans to stay in Port Charles. We sense that Lucky has
something to do with her decision.
Meanwhile, Lucky calls Sarah and invites her to an outdoor
rock concert. Lizzie taunts Sarah about her "loser
boyfriend"'s call, not realizing it's Lucky. Sarah reacts
strongly: "I don't have a boyfriend." After she goes to bed
Lizzie stays downstairs and draws a heart on a sheet of paper,
writing "Lizzie and Lucky" inside the heart.

The End! (Thank you, God!)
