GH UPDATE for Monday, July 7, 1997

Previously on GH-- Carly wants to pair AJ and Keesha Audrey asks
Bobbie about missing meds Luke is hacking into Stefan's computer

Scene--GH workout room--AJ and Carly "Matchmaker, Matchmaker"

Carly and AJ schmooze. They discuss her condition and when Carly
brings up Keesha's name, AJ tries to change the subject. Carly tries
to pick up some dumb-bells, but AJ rushes to do it for her, not
wanting her to "strain" herself.

Talk goes to the topic of "that night" at Jake's--"That was a very
important night for me," AJ tells her. "How do you mean?" asks a
nervous Carly.

"That was the last night I took a drink." (Whew! Carly mentally
wipes her brow at that one.)

AJ only wishes he could remember more of that evening. But he's
sure that little by little it will all come back to him.

"what night is that?" Tony, who has just entered, inquires.

AJ covers by telling Tony he was discussing a "blackout" that he had
while drinking. When he and Carly are alon again, he calms her by
telling her that "that night" will remain their little secret.
CArly later mentions to Tony how much AJ misses Keesha. She wishes
they'd get together, so he wouldn't spend so much time alone
thinking about things he shouldn't. Tony reminds her that AJ and
Keesha can handle their own business. The wheels begin to turn in
Carly's brain. When she's alone, she picks up the phone and calls
Keesha, asking her to please run over to the hospital, because there
is something *really really* important to tell her.

When Keesha arrives, Carly "shares" that AJ is still "totally in
love" with Keesha. Keesha seems more worried than pleased. "AJ and
I are in totally different places right now...my feelings for him
are very complicated. There are times I think that our relationship
was doomed from the start. I tried to tell myself that my
relationship with him was not on the rebound, but now I'm not sure
that's completely true. I was so devestated when Jason told me he
wanted nothing to do with me after the accident. And there was AJ,
wanting me, loving me..."

What diference does it make, Carly asks. Look at her and Tony.
They had plenty of problems, but things worked out for them. Love
kept bringing them together.

But why mess with success, Keesha wonders. AJ is doing so well
now--- "But he's not," Carly breaks in. She "confides" that she's
really worried about AJ--in his loneliness, what if--

"You mean he might start drinking again? If that's the case, then
the last thing he needs is to get involved with me. If AL-Anon
taught me anything, it was that. And it's the last thing I need, as
well."

Carly backpedals quickly. No,no, she was just exaggerating to make
a point. "AJ is in great shape, Keesha, but he needs you back in
his life. It would be a shame to throw away what you two had."

Tony enters. "What are you two girls talking about?" (Geez, Tony,
aren't you the nosy one?)

The "girls" cover and once again Dr. Clueless is misled. The
clueless one does have his suspicions, though. He warns Ms.
Dumb-bells not to play matchmaker. Then he spots a toy elephant in
the toom that once belonged to BJ, one that he and Bobbie donated to
GH after her death. He remembers the time he bought it for her.
Carly sympathizes--he must still miss BJ terribly. Tony admits
that's true. But this new baby will be a joyful experience. He
can't wait to buy out the toy store for their baby. Carly hugs him
tight. "We deserve to be happy", she insists.

Scene--GH nurse's station--Audrey and Bobbie "It's a sin to tell a
lie"

Audrey uncomfortably asks Bobbie to tell her that she had nothing to
with with the disappearance of pills from the hospital pharmacy.
Bobbie reluctantly admits to taking them. At first, Audrey believes
it was an oversight--maybe Bobbie just forgot to make a notation?
Bobbie's continuing silence confirms Audrey's worst fears--that she
took them for personal use: "Whoever could have convinced you to
steal them?"

Bobbie assures her that no one else was involved. She had a good
reason for her actions, but can't share them yet with Audrey. She
only asks one favor--can Audrey hold off a day or two before going
to the board with this information? Audrey agrees to wait a bit.

Later, Alexis approaches Audrey and inquires how the investigation
into the missing medication is going. Audrey coolly informs her
that she was charged to take care of the matter, and take care of it
she will.

Kat appears and wants to schmooze with Alexis. She wants to offer
the Cassadines her help and comfort in their time of need, yadda,
yadda. Alexis smiles stiffly.

Scene--Russian Orthodox church (rectory?)--Luke and the priest "Get
Me to the Church on Time"

Luke knocks at a door with an ornate cross. A grey-bearded,
black-robed gentleman answers the door. Luke apologizes, but really
needs the father's help in trasnlating a note in his possession.
The father will be happy to help--tomorrow morning. Luke
persists--this cannot wait. Aha, the father nods wisely. This
involves a matter of sin--Luke wants to unburden his soul. "You have
committed a grievous sin--you need to confess." (How much time have
you got, Father?)

Luke admits that might be true in other circumstances, but tonight
this is about someone else's sin.

The priest asks if the translation and the sin are related. Luke
says yes, and tells the priest he'll be helping the good guys if he
does this little thing. The priest looks speculatively at Luke-- is
*he* one of the good guys? He must think so, because he takes the
note. The translation takes longer than expected, because of some
misspelled words. When Luke takes bakc the note, he stares at the
tanslation in shock.

Scene--The Swimmin' Hole--Stef and Kat "Everytime Two Fools Collide"

KrazyKat confronts Stef the stiff. She knows that he and Bobbie
broke up.

"I know why it happened--it's because of me, isn't it?" she purrs.

Kat goes on about how she and Stef tried to hold back their passion,
but it was too powerful, it was bigger than both of them, it was
written in the stars, (Have I hit on enough cliches?), etc, etc.
Yet she can't help but be hopeful about their future.

"I'm much more than hopeful," ManBat murmurs, before he rolls over
on his back and starts thumping his leg on the ground. (Just kidding
on that last part.)

Then they snuggle and we are treated to more celebrating of the
moments of their lives (Or should I say the Days of Their Lives?)
and the course of their Immortal Love. Thankfully Bobbie saves us
by appearing on the scene and interjecting "I hope I'm interrupting
something," in a silky voice.

Stiff hustles Ms. MeowMix away and turns on Bobbie. She warns him
that she will not allow him to railroad her out of GH. Stef tells
her that her career is over, unless he decides otherwise. "Meet the
real Stefan Cassadine--interesting to watch him change his skin."

Stefan tells her "I am not my brother, my uncles or my mother...but
you and your brother have made a serious mistake in under-estimating
me." He dismisses Bobbie as though she were a servant. "I will
contact you with my terms."

Our spunky gal is having none of it. "I won't let you win," she
answers.

When she's gone, he opens his computer. "I already have," he
sneers.

Scene--Back at GH work-out room--AJ and Keesha ( plus a sneaky

Carly spying through the door) "I Apologize" Keesha steps into the
gym where AJ is doing some paper-work. She gazes at him meltingly
and tells him how good it was to see him today. He lets her know
the feeling is mutual. They joke about how he finally figured out
how AA works--you actually have to *go* to the meetings.

"You are going to be so okay, AJ, if you just keep sticking to the
program. That is the most important things right now.. more than
anything or *anyone* (hint, hint) else."

AJ assures her that he is doing just that.

Keesha goes on to suggest that when people feel unsure of themselves
they might jump into things that make them lose sight of "One day at
a time."

AJ wrinkles his brow like he has lost sight of her point. (Hey, I
like the girl, but she should forget police academy. She should be a
minister, a schoolteacher, or a judge--then she can lecture to her
heart's content.) Or maybe his conscience is bothering him. He
wants to apologize for "The lies, the scenes, the manipulations,"
that he put her through while he was drinking. "I hope you can
accept my apology."

"Of course. Thanks. That means a lot."

They say goodbye. Soon Carly, whose face we have seen peering
through a window in the door, pops in. Was that just Keesha she saw
coming out?

AJ says its strange that he and Keesha haven't seen each other in
months--now it's twice in one day. "I don't think it's s trange,"
Carly chirps. "She's still in love with you." They go round about
is she/isn't she and should he/shouldn't he when AJ finally shuts
her up by saying that he doesn't want to risk his sobriety by
jumping into a new relationship. After all, if he fails, it's next
stop, Rehab. Carly lets him off the hook, then asks him over for
dinner for the following evening. He accepts. Later, when he's left
the room, Carly calls Keesha and leaves a message on her machine,
issuing the same invitation.

Scene--Luke's office--I can't think of a song for this one

Luke's smoking like a clogged up furnace and talking on the phone to
Laura. We see that the note says "Final activation on June 28 at
20:00." He tells her that he doesn't know what else they could have
done. They got on the case as soon as they could, as soon as they
obtained the micro-chip. "I thought we had a day or two. Oh man,
"Luke sighs. "It all went down and he got away with it. There's
nothing we can do to stop it."

We close on Stefan, in front of the computer, surveying the world he
plans to conquer.
