                            GH Update for 06/13/97

Even though it was Friday the 13th, the Chicago Bulls had enough luck and
determination to win a 5th NBA title in 7 years over a superb Utah Jazz team.
My congratulations to Phil, Michael, Scotty, Dennis, and the rest.  If only the
GH writers could make story lines as exciting as these NBA finals were.

Scene 1
Det. Taggert comes to the Q's to question Emily [why?], but when Alan and
Monica resist, he makes some nonsensical threats about taking her in to the
station [right, like the police would drag a disturbed minor, make that a rich
disturbed minor in without cause], and they inexplicably give in.
Scene 2
Brenda gives Sonny a present of a photo of their little nature love-spot.
Scene 3
Carly begs off from Lucy about Nurse's Ball business just as Jason arrives at
her apartment door. They discuss his being AJ's brother and his being
brain-damaged. She says she never noticed his brain being damaged.
"No the other one," he explains. They exchange promises not to be angry over
each others secrets.
Scene 4
Jax comes to GH to see Stephan. A bevy of nurse-lings crowd around him for
Nurses' Ball publicity pictures since he's sponsoring the bash.
Scene 5
Bobbie embraces Stephan and feigns pleasure at their last evening's love
making. When he leaves, she pops open his laptop but is startled by the
surprise arrival of Luke. They try to guess Stephan's password.
Scene 6
Jax and Stephan meet the newest incarnation of AJ [he reminds me of the kid who
married Becky on Roseanne].
Scene 7
Brenda smooches up Sonny as they lie around in bed fantasizing about the future
[Jeez, if these two get any sweeter I'll need to brush between scenes].
Scene 8
Carly almost upchucks at Jason's description of Dorman's body, but you can bet
it's not mourning but morning sickness despite her assurances to Jason she just
couldn't be pregnant.
Scene 9
Edward assures Taggert that they all hated Dorman but didn't kill him.  Taggert
still wants to question Emily, and they reluctantly agree.  Emily doesn't say
much except she remembers being in pajamas and gets upset about losing her
locket which Monica immediately produces.  Later, in front of Taggert, Edward
unwittingly criticizes Alan's disheveled look and pointedly mentions the
missing button.
Scene 10
Alexis buttonholes Stephan and says she thinks Ned knows something about the
murder. After a brief encounter with Tony, they discuss Bobbie. "She's under
control," Stephan smugly assures her.
Scene 11
Meanwhile, Bobbie and Luke continue to try to guess Stephan's password.
Eventually, Luke leaves, and Bobbie continues.
Scene 12
Carly buys a home pregnancy test, but before she can use it, she gets a
surprise visit from AJ who's delivering her Nurses' Ball costume.
Scene 13
Jason interrupts the bedmates to tell them Jax was at GH's morgue.
Scene 14
With his copper-cutie watching, Jax works out while they flirt around with each
other. He makes some inane chatter about her working for him, but she declines
[what's this all about?].
Scene 15
Taggert informs Ned that they will need hair samples to compare with those
found at the murder scene. Lila insists they take hers too.  [I think I've seen
too much OJ-TV. Even if the hairs matched, they easily could have been there
from long before the murder.]
Scene 16
Alan insists Monica tell him what she knows about the murder.
Scene 17
Brenda defends Jax, and Sonny orders Jason not to bother Jax as the cops will
be around, then goes back to snuggling Brenda.
Scene 18
As AJ hugs Carly, Tony returns "just to get some things." AJ apologizes, but
Tony brushes it off.
Scene 19
Bobbie finally guesses the password, "island". Stephan returns, but Luke blocks
him before he can enter the library and catch Bobbie.
