Subject: Date: 06/25 9:17 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com GH UPDATE THURSDAY JUNE 12 1. Dysfunction Junction Brenda is at a table in the PC Grille [lessee, this is in the hotel, right? Where Jax lives?] Jax comes in, sits down, and she smiles at him. They talk about Dorman. Sonny comes in and claims possession. Jax sees how long Brender's "finding herself" lasted. He asks Sonny if he's heard anything and Sonny tells about Dorman's hiding place for the drugs. Does this mean Jax is cleared? Jax tells them he has an ironclad alibi, and leaves. Brenda is worried about Sonny. Taggert still hates him. Sonny's not worried, and says she's most upset because she thinks maybe Sonny did it. He claims he didn't. She is going to have to learn to live with unanswered questions. They look over at Ned and Alexis. Brenda thinks it's an odd pairing, but Sonny thinks they belong together. He thinks, re: Ned, that Lois got the best part of the deal. Brenda has a little surprise for Sonny. [Your Fearless Updater stayed awake for this. It wasn't easy.] 2. A Lot to Hide Mac and Alan come into the Quartermaine living room with Jason. Edward complains about Jason, but he wanted to see Emily. Alan finds out that Monica told Emily about Dorman's death, and he's sorry. Edward agrees: "There's nothing wrong with controlling information --- if you do it, do it competently." Alan goes to see Emily. Edward huffs at Jason: "Tell me you didn't knock off a liquor store on the way here!" Jason proves he's learned to stretch the literal truth (so he's back on the suspect list!) "Nope. A bank." "Eh?" Edward harrumphs. Ned and Mac talk. Mac doesn't want to see Jason railroaded. The doorbell rings. It's Alexis. She is there to offer advice. As hostile counsel (for the hospital) she can't formally but will informally. She tells Ned the rumors about Monica holding Dorman in a motel room and torturing him. Ned decides to take her to the Port Charles Grille, and they leave. Mac and Monica and Alan talk, with Jason overhearing. Alan: "Whoever wiped out that bastard deserves a medal." Mac warns Alan to watch what he says. Alan gets mad and storms off. Jason and Monica talk about Emily. Then Mac warns Monica that the motel story will come out. Monica, in Em's room, tries to get her to eat. Emily is not hungry. Alan comes in. Emily is worried that Mac is there. They leave. Monica is worried that Mac is telling about Dorman. Emily spills jelly on her sleeve and flashes back to Monica's bloody sleeve. She heads to the door, but Jason is there. Jason asks if she's feeling better. They talk. "What makes a peron kill somebody?" She feels responsible. Dorman died on the same day Paige did. Jason leaves and Emily goes looking for the bloody blouse. She finds it in the hamper, and covers it up again and runs off. Later she feigns sleep, Monica tucks her in, and then she opens her eyes and looks troubled. At the Police Station, Taggert and Garcia talk about the scalpel. They theorize it was an unplanned killing. They do have a clue, a button. Alan goes into the library, and sits with his head in his hands. He gets out his pills and takes one. Edward comments on his missing button: "You are the chief of staff of a hospital that makes the Titanic look like a pleasure cruise. The least you could do is dress like you knew what you were doing." Taggert goes to the Quartermaines. He needs statements from Alan and Monica --- and Emily. Monica says Emily is asleep. Emily says "Mom?" and comes downstairs. Ned and Alexis are at the PCGrille. Ned asks "The usual?" and orders club sodas with a twist of lime. Alexis: "I didn't even realize we had a usual." "Well, these things creep up on you. Have I told you you look lovely?" "No, but go ahead." [Your Fearless Updater will put up with S&B in order to get scenes like this!] Alexis tells Ned: "Murder really brings out the flirt in you." She has a theory, and he tells her: "Do you know that your eyes dance when you hypothesize?" "Do you know that you come on to me when you're trying to get me off track?" "You have a truly devious mind." "Takes one to know one." They don't approve of Sonny and Brenda. Ned asks: "Where were we?" Alexis responds: Somewhere between the Suspicion Salad and a Deadly Dose of Coffee?" "Very good. You should write mysteries." "And you should stay out of them.... Try as you will, and I love the way you do, I can see right through you. You're hiding something." 3. Too Boring For a Heading Katherine and Nik are in the gym, discussing the Nurses Ball and Stefan. Nik leaves for a moment, and Jax comes in and tells Katherine he is sponsoring the Nurses' Ball. He wants to match Sonny's wing with another wing dealing with substance abuse. [Your Fearless Updater is glad not to be the architect for all these extra wings and things.] She thanks him for setting a good example by letting go and walking away with head held high. Nik comes back, Jax leaves, and Katherine is so excited about the money for the NB (then why is she involved at all?) that she starts to walk. She tells Nik to keep it a secret. 4. Cupid's Arrow Strikes. Lucky comes up to Amy. He's there to volunteer. Turns out, of course, it's mandatory for school, Spensers don't give their time freely if not required. [Laura married into the family!] A pretty girl comes by. It's Sarah Webber! Amy introduces herself and Lucky and they discuss who is related to whom. Sarah will move into Audrey's house and take care of her. Sarah and Amy go to see grandma Audrey, who is still unconscious. Sarah is setting up the room, talking to Audrey, and Nik comes by and is smitten and eavesdrops till she cusses him out for it. Lucky comes by with sodas. Amy tells him they've gone to get another test. They talk about Sarah, but Lucky disclaims all interest. Amy sees right through him. Jax stands in the hospital morgue looking at the chalk outline. Jason sees him leave and goes into the morgue himself.
