UPDATE THURSDAY JUNE 5

Flashback count: 0, and there was even an opportunity.

1. LUKE AND BOBBIE
Oh, come on! I could just about copy last week's update for this one.
It starts, surprise surprise, with Luke on the phone to who else, Laura,
discussing who else, Bobbie. There's a neat map of Ireland behind Luke
in his office. Laura asks if he's having second thoughts. this is a
foreign concept to Luke. Laura suggests that "yodelling won't be the
first thing we do when we finally see each other again."

Ruby, in her monthly appearance [Is Connolly ill again?] lures Bobbie to
the diner. Bobbie rushes over. Luke wants to talk to her "one last
time." [Promises, promises.] He brings up, Yet Again, the egg. Why was
Stefan so interested in it? He tells her about the virus. She doesn't
believe him, and he reminds her about freezing the world. She doesn't
think her brother is smart enough to figure this out, and he cops to
getting help from a friend in the WSB. "Do you think I would make this up?"
Yes, she does, and so does Your Fearless Updater. He warns her something
will go down, a computer shutdown or something. "Proof doesn't
always lay itself out in neat rows. Sometimes you have to
connect the dots yourself." [She could get help from Monica, who was
planning to connect some dots with the Dorman-lobotomy only last week!]
"Yeah, well stop trying to do it for me."

Luke says, Yet Again, that the only reason she's still with Stefan is
hurt feelings and stubborn pride. "That's it, Barbara, and now you're
going to try to put up this front of a perfect American family so some
judge somewhere can give you the big prize in the Lucas sweepstakes?
And what are you going to win? Maybe the kid can grow up in the Big Lie
like Nikolas." Barbara warns him not to discuss the custody papers with her.

Luke tells her he played her wrong. He should have told her about the
fake death. And now, "You can go home and you can blab to Count Vlad
that Big, Bad, Bubba's got his secret bug, but I bet he uses it anyway --
it's too late to abandon his secret plan." Luke says this is Stefan's
chance for revenge. She doesn't believe him. She leaves with Luke
telling her to do what she thinks is right. He then calls Laura and reports.

2. TONY AND BOBBIE AND CARLY
Tony tells Bobbie that Audrey is still not out of the woods. "We can't
lose her, Tony, not after losing Steve... she's part of what's RIGHT with
General Hospital." Tony wants her to think about Lucas... but her pager
goes off. (Ruby). Carly comes off the elevator... "do you have a
minute?" Tony is stern. He echoes Bobbie's words last Fall... "You
shouldn't let your personal life interfere with the wellbeing of a patient."
(She's been missing appointments again.) Carly has brought by the tie
and cufflinks she gave him at Christmas, but turns out he hadn't
accidently left them.

Later, in the hallway, A.J. spies a despairing Carly. He wants a drink, as
he's very worried about Emily. She tells him to talk her to the gym and
en route she cheers him up. He tells her he wanted to be a "patient"
when he grew up. An angry Justus interrupts. He tells Carly he's
thinking of bringing her up on charges. He tells her that Bobbie has
nothing to do with it, he's angry in his own right. A.J. defends Carly
(not her behavior) and tells Justus not to throw the first stone. Justus
gets a faraway look in his eyes, but doesn't have an attack of the
flashbacks.

3. THE EVIL GENIUS
[That would be Alexis. Stefan is far too muddled.]

Saturnine Stefan is listening to Katherine rattling off the late events,
hostage-taking, power tool brain surgery, mayhem and death. Not to
mention little fishies on Amy's terminal. She can put a positive spin on
things. Nik comes in to take Katherine to the gym (which is either on
the 8th floor or in the basement, depending on whether the elevators work.)
They hasten to assure him he's not interrupting anything.

Katherine listens to Nik whine about his uncle and tells him she's
surprised Stefan hasn't thrown him out on his adolescent spoiled butt.

Alexis comes into the library. They talk about Nikolas. Stefan insists
the situation is still under control. Alexis drily remarks: "Define
control." She suggests they drop the dry runs on guinea pigs like
Felicia and they might as well do it now. Stefan agrees, and pretends it
was all his idea. They discuss whether Nik will tell about Katherine's
shooting (these scenes are interlaced with scenes where Katherine is
telling Nik that she is not a saint.)

Alexis feels a little nervous. And so she should, with Stefan trying to
be Snidely Whiplash. If you're putting your future into the hands of an
evil genius, it should be an e.g. who can actually remember the Plan from
one minute to the next.

4. DON'T LEAVE TOWN, DR. D.
Dorman goes to the door [Obvious pun there] and it's Sonny with Joseph
and another goon. Joseph rips out the phone while Sonny tells Dorman
what is what. "Amateurs eventually make mistakes" and sticking Sonny was
one. Sonny suggests it's not safe for Dorman to leave the premises.
"You've been speaking with Monica-- were you going to tie me up and give
me a lobotomy also?" Sonny has the Line of the Day, with the Delivery of
the Day to go with it: "Hahahhaha! Ah, she DID that?? I LIKE Monica!"
He goes on: "But see, I;m not in the mood for a lobotomy, but I know a
couple of guys who would love to give it a shot. 'Sa matter of fact,
I've already told them about you." Sonny tells Dorman not to leave the
apartment or "don't blame me if you don't get where you're going."

Next we see Dr. D. on the phone to get an airline ticket.

5. THREATS ALL ROUND
Alan and Monica are hugging in the hall. She really wishes she had
killed Dorman. Monica asks Alan not to let Dorman come
anywhere near her or Emily again. A.J. comes up. He's brought
doughnuts. He promises Emily no one will ever hurt her again. Monica
goes to talk to Dr. Rogers, Alan goes in to see Emily, A.J. sees Carly.

Jason sees Alan come out and they talk about Emily and Monica. Monica
returns with Dr. Rogers.

Ned talks to Emily about Brooke. She's unresponsive. OUt in the hall,
Monica, Alan, A.J. and Jason are talking about Dorman. Jason goes off to
make a phone call. Emily comes out and hugs them all.
