From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: UPDATE THURSDAY MAY 29 Date: Fri, 13 Jun 1997 10:29:39 GMT [Note: actual address is in the .sig file.] UPDATE THURSDAY MAY 29 THINGS FALL APART: 1: Stefan the Evil Genius: At Wyndemere, Bobbie overhears Nik tell Stefan about Luke rescuing him after Stefan "threw me off the side of the mountain." Stefan asserts that "Luke is playing a sick game with something of immense value to our family. If you had seen him threaten to throw it off the side of a mountain, you might understand." Nik stalks out. Luke is on the phone to Laura telling her he can't convince Bobbie, she's far too angry. The Fury comes in at this point. She knows that Luke saved Nikolas on the cliff, and doesn't know why Luke wasn't telling her. She tells Luke what Nik didn't, that Stefan was involved. Luke didn't want her to run to Count Vladimir: "You think you need him-- the custody thing -- showing off your perfect marriage -- you're shining it up and turning the cracks to the wall but you don't have to go through that, because it doesn't matter." Luke says that she and Lucas will fall through the cracks. Why, he asks her, is he staying in Port Charles? "Because you hate my husband." "I could do that from anywhere on this planet." He's staying to look after Bobbie. She gets huffy and starts to leave and Luke asks for two minutes. He points out that the unflappable Stefan was actually thrown for a loop over the egg. They talk about Nik and the cliff: "What is it about the egg? It's an ornate chicken dropping, Barbara." She says his two minutes are up and leaves. Stefan goes to the Penthouse #4, and Katherine asks him what's going on. She's suspicious of Stefan's motives. She tells Stefan that Nik knows who shot her. Stefan muses: "That shot was intended to drive out my mortal enemy. Instead, it drives away the two people I love most." They share a soulful look. Nik is at the docks. He calls Laura. "Hello?" She comments. He tells her who he is, asks about Lulu and Leslie. Laura says she was worried about him. Lulu loves the little pony she he sent. Laura presses him about what's trong. She tries to tell him that Love hurts and she wishes she could start over. Nik cries and wishes she could, too. Bobbie gets home and sees the egg in the case. She Widens Her Eyes. Luke calls Laura, who spends all her time sitting next to the phone. She tells him about Nik. Nik is at the docks, and a tear rolls down his cheek. 2. MANIPULATIVE, HOMEWRECKING CARLY (And I *like* Carly!) Tony accuses Carly of sending the divorce papers. Carly denies it all. Tony talks about his clues, and suggests they go see Justus and his secretary. Carly tries to defend herself. She doesn't think he should even think that of her. Tony keeps watching her. "Fine, we won't go." They will just sit there and wait for AJ to get back from his AA meeting, "because they're very big on honesty in AA. They consider it a big part of the recovery process. I think he'll be willing to tell me if the woman he knows, the woman who dropped the earring in Justus' office, is you. AJ's our friend." There's a sound in the hall. "Maybe that's him right now." Carly panics. Tony says "it's true." Carly says "I did it for you, I did it for us ... she used your son to try to get you back." Tony contends "SHE didn't hurt me! YOU hurt me. She didn't use my son. YOU used my son, you're the reason I'm going to lose my son." "NO!" she screams, but too late, he packs up. Carly yells, trying to hold him back. [Very painful scenes.] She tells him about staying in the apartment alone night after night. "I mailed jer those papers because I love you. And you love me, Tony." Tony looks horrified. "Love you? I don't even know you." [And he doesn't know the half of it!] He slams out, and she's sobbing. 3. NO-GOOD SCUMBAG DORMAN At the Quartermaine's, Jason wants to talk to Monica and asks Alan to page her. Meanwhile, in the sleazy motel, Monica is threatening Dorman, who asks "Are you going to kill me?" "After everything we've been through, you know me so little. Do you know Gilbert and Sullivan?" She want's to make the "punishment fit the crime." Pierce cannot help himself, he has to snottily correct her quote: "My object ALL sublime.." Monica starts listing his crimes. She might leave it up to the courts if it weren't for Emily. Emily comes downstairs and says hi to Jason. Monica gets paged, and gags Dorman. Jason talks to her. She says she's at the hospital. He says he'll meet her, and she says there's no point, she's coming home. Jason tells Alan and Emily that Monica is coming home and the doorbell rings. It's Mac, looking for Monica. Meanwhile, Jason does a *69 and finds out Monica called from the Starlight Motel, and dashes out. Mac follows him. Monica contemplates a diagram of the brain. She describes a lobotomy. "Granted, I'm not a neuro-surgeon, but I think I can connect the dots here" although the conditions are rather primitave. Hmm. She might mess up something else. Dorman: "Monica, I understand your rage." "No you don't." "I-I *do*" but this will cost Monica her career and freedom. She says that's OK, he's ruined those for her anyway, so vindictive is as vindictive does. Hmmm. Maybe she should go for the heart, she understands the heart, or maybe she "should forget about the brain and the heart and go right to that part of your anatomy that you so love to show off to women... decisions, decisions!" She has scalpels. "Monica, you won't be able to do this.... Think about what you're doing!" "I am," she grins. "Isn't it GREAT?" Dorman starts to beg. She says he has a point. If she turns him into a veggie, it means some poor fool would have to take care of him. It's not worth it, she might as well just get this over with. She gets out a gun and points it at him. NOT EVERYTHING FALLS APART, THOUGH. 4. KEVIN AND LUCY Lucy is using her laptop to plan the Nurse's Ball. [Your Fearless Updater is screaming "backup!" at the screen.] She wants Kevin to be in it, but he thinks his behaviour over the last year has provided enough entertainment to the General Hospital family. Lucy suggests he get out there and show how much better he is. "And for this I have to sing and dance?" "It couldn't hurt." "It could. And it would. And it DID the times I humiliated myself the first two years." She's sure that there are things that aren't a tim man or a baby. Kevin says "Maybe a soft shoe to the theme of the Night Stalker?" Lucy says she'd like to do something together, and it "just so happens" that she's heard "I Got You, Babe." She'd be a perfect Cher and he could -- "I could what, run for Congress?" "At least think about it. "I have thunk." "And?" "And you know how people always say they say no the first time? Consider this the second. No Way!" Lucy gets the "oh, poo!" look on her face. Kevin is off to see his father. Lucy tells him she knows he'll do the right thing. [CLUE ALERT!!!!] "How can you, Lucy. I mean, how can you trust me after the last 9 months?" "I don't think about them, they're gone, it's history. I'd just like to concetrate on the next 9 months." [END CLUE ALERT!!!!] "And after that?" "Oh, those, too." He leaves saying "you got me, Babe" and [ONE MORE CLUE] Lucy rubs her tummy with a happy look. Your Fearless Updater didn't need to read the spoilers to figure any of this out. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, mouse-pushing wacko, member of SESIDAR Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional. jyarnot@netcom.com Putting the fun in "dysfunctional." http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/5144/
