Subject: Date: 06/01 6:18 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com GH UPDATE THURSDAY MAY 22 Flashback count: 2 plus a long aural one. THE PLOT THICKENS At the Quartermaines, Edward is huffing about Jax's arrest and the damage it might do to ELQ. When Emily comes in, there's a sudden hush, and Emily stalks out. She's upset that every time anyone says "drugs" in any connection, they think of her. Alan and Monica plan to talk to her, but Alan should be at the board meeting. They are reviewing residents' applications. Dr. Dorman has made it so Monica can't be there. Alan: "GOD, I hate Dorman!" Emily writes in her diary. Monica comes in, and says that sometimes talking to another person is as good as a diary. Emily rolls her eyes. Monica comments that she's home early, and Emily starts to claim illness, then goes for the truth. Someone at school made a mean crack about Matt in the cafeteria. Emily doesn't like it that everyone thinks Matt was a loser, even Alan and Monica. Monica tells her that she respects Emily's loss, even though she herself didn't like Matt. Emily tells Monica about Matt's mom. Emily leaves and Monica (naturally) calls Matt's mother. She introduces herself and a distraught Mrs. Reynolds yells at her, but also lets drop that Pierce Dorman was a family friend, Matt's surrogate Dad. Monica asks Emily about this. Emily hadn't known. When she and Matt were watching the trial, Matt said nothing about it. Monica is upset to learn that Emily had cut school with Matt for this. Emily tells her that one time she found Matt reading her mail. Emily apologizes. Downstairs Lucky comes in, hoping to see Emily. Lila and Ned reminisce with him about the poker game he won with Edward. [Bet Foster still isn't neutered, too!] Lila sends Lucky up. Monica asks Emily: "Were you doing drugs with your other friends up in this room?" "In case you haven't noticed, I don't have any other friends." Lucky comes in. They chat a bit about grape snowcones in the desert, and go out for a walk. Monica goes downstairs and talks to Ned, who says "We are through the worst part." Back upstairs, with the nifty blue lava lamp blubbing away, Monica reads Emily's diary. This is the aural flashback. We also have the flashback of Ned in court. REVELATIONS At the hospital, Dorman is conducting his drug business at the desk, and Amy is flapping her ears, but he sends her off. Luke catches up to Stefan and Bobbie. Luke is sorry about the custody stuff, Stefan is cynical, and Bobbie is furious. Luke asks "My sister all nestled down in the belly of the beast... who did you lean on while Stefan and Nikolas were in Switzerland on the Great Cassadine Egg Cookoff?" Stefan: "What are you talking about? Nikolas had nothing to do with that." "Oh, was that his clone that showed up after you were there? He didn't tell you> A closeknit family like yours?" Bobbie confirms that she hadn't seen Nikolas those days. Lee comes to take Stefan to a meeting. Luke tells Bobbie he might be able to help if she'd only listen. Carly overhears this and has a flashback of Luke telling her off. A.J. is working out at the hospital gym and helps someone use a machine. He finds out there's a job available. Carly comes in all upset. You look like someone just ran your puppy over. She's worried, she says, that Katherine will fire her. "I screwed up." A.J. coaxes a bit of a smile out of her and they discuss Quartermaine wealth. Carly can't believe he would turn his back on it. Bobbie wants to know if Luke knew about the custody suit. She's even more furious. Carly comes back and overhears the end of this conversation, but when Bobbie later sees her and ignores her, Carly looks up and says "Thank you, God!" [She won't have long to be relieved..] SIDAR, ALWAYS SIDAR Brenda and Sonny are on the docks. Brenda: "don't look at me like that." She wants to tell Jax about Dorman. Sonny doesn't want her to. She thinks Jax will allow himself to be used as a decoy. Sonny says candy boy doesn't like to be used and doesn't like to look bad. She claims "People are better than you think." "All right. The sooner he gets the news the sooner I can start damage control." Brenda doesn't want Sonny to come with her, but he convinces her. Jax is talking to Justus. He's lost a deal he was trying to put together. "Corinthos will pay if it's the last thing I do." Justus defends Sonny. Jax wants Mac. He asks for the car to be brought around, and then Brenda and Sonny come. They tell about Dorman. Jax gets annoyed, and plans to call a press conference. Sonny tells him to think about who he's hurting. THE PLOT CONTINUES TO THICKEN No one can find Dr. Dorman. Alan can't attend the board meeting. Edward would like to throw Dorman back in the futter where he belongs. Dorman overhears this. He snipes at Alan, and Stefan defends his chief of staff. Dorman: [How did someone this stupid make it through medical school?] "You do NOT want to go toe to toe with me, Alan. You're just not up to it. By the way, could you get the family idiot to stop following me around?" Alan hadn't known about Jason. He tells Dorman: "You're going to pay, Dorman. I'm going to make sure you burn in Hell."
