Date: Tue, 06 May 1997 16:41:14 -0600 From: ninapie@ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE Monday 5/5 X-Article-Creation-Date: Tue May 06 21:40:02 1997 GMT It's only my second update and I'm finding th biggest challenge involved is keeping my editorial comments to a minimum. That said, I thought some parts of Monday's show pretty lame. "Previously on GH" we are reminded that Miranda dropped her little bombshell on Jax re: Brenda and Sonny. Also, Carly walked in on Tony and Bobbie hugging each ot ***** In doorway of office at hospital-- Carly spots Tony holding a weeping Bobbie. Carly's face crumples, and she looks ready to cry herself. She moves away before they realize she is there and walks away. Later, at Luke's club-- Carly is back at the club. Jason sees her and says "You look like somebody died." Carly answers "I thought Tony was at the hospital, but he wasn't. There's nothing wrong between Tony and me. Everything's just fine." Jason says he doesn't care, he was just trying to act interested. Carly snarls, "Well, don't. It's not your strong suit." (Could this be a return to the old Carly? Sarah Brown is good at showing Carly surly but hurting at the same time.) Carly eyes Justus and Dara talking. She goes over and makes nice to Keesha, wangling an intro to Justus. She asks him for his card, explaining "a friend" may need legal advice. As the others leave, she fingers the card, and we can fairly see the wheels turning in her brain. Back at GH--Tony and Bobbie Bobbie and Tony talk. She says she appreciates his concern, but isn't it a bit hypocritical? After all, what has Stefan done that Tony didn't do himself? But now she understands that the end of their marriage was not totally his fault. But she realizes now that some of Tony's hasty actions were partly "to keep from hurting me." (Huh? I didn't understand her reasoning there.) Tony says she must not blame herself. "Don't think there's something you could have done better...it was never that." Bobbie: "Well, there's something I should be doing better now...this outraged wife business." She finally asks him not to say anything to Stefan about her suspicions. It may all be only in her own mind (though it sounds like she trying to convince herself more than Tony). Jax's apartment-- Brenda expects Jax to arrive any moment and wonders what is keeping him. The bell rings and it is Dorman. He tries to schmooze in his usual fake charming/smarmy way, and Brenda tries to brush him off. He has some business to discuss with Jax, and is willing to wait for him to show. Brenda says no. "I don't feel like talking to somebody who spread Monica's sex life all over the newspapers." Dorman: "In general, the papers seem to be more interested in yours." Before leaving, he sarcastically salutes her as a "paragon of righteousness". Brenda shakes her head in puzzlement as he leaves. "What's that?" she wonders. Miranda's apartment--Loose ends #1--Miranda gets dumped (on) After Miranda's revelation, Jax demands to know "Where did you get your information? Brenda and Sonny don't confide in you." She finally admits she opened Brenda's letter to Sonny. She says it's not very charming, but it's better than what Brenda did to him. He congratulates her (sarcastically) for waiting so long to spring the information. Then he accuses her of threatening Brenda with it. Miranda: "I was only trying to get her to be honest." Jax: "What do you know about honesty?" Then he explodes and really lets her have it. (What happened to the guy who just a few months ago wanted to sleep with her?) "You may think that there's nothing worse than having an unfaithful wife--but having a dead one reading poetry in a cabana in the Phillipines is right up there on the list." He goes on < "The woman I loved is dead... she's gone with a vengeance." Miranda breaks down, devastated. She insists that everything she did was done for love of him. He coldly tells her that if she has a shred of dignity, she will leave town and tell no one what she has told him. And don't coun't on him for anything. Later, after he is gone, Miranda sits on the sofa, weeping. "I did the right thing," she insists to herself. She picks up a book and opens it. The inscription reads "Miranda--some thoughts to carry you forward--Jax" (May I say for posterity that I thought this whole wind-up really stunk. Well, godspeed, Miranda, at least you're free of the hideous SIDAR. Oh, and I guess we can forget about that Cassadine connection, huh?) At Luke's club-- We are watching everybody "get down" to the music of all-4-one. Luke dances around, lifts Amy to the bar to dance, gets everybody up and shakin', and while they are all distracted, he shimmies right on out the door. Spencer house-- Stefan lets himself into the house with a key he finds left above the doorsill. He looks around inside and spots a picture on the wall. Removing it, he finds a safe underneath. Though he cracks it like a pro, he soon finds it is empty. He glances at letter left on the table. It is addressed to Luke from Laura in Switzerland. He reads a bit of it. "All my love, Laura. Drivel..." Then he sees an enclosed photo of Lesley (I think), Lulu and the faberge egg. "Taken two weeks ago," he mutters. "How charming, using Lesley Lu as the cheese." After Stefan leaves the house, Luke emerges from behind a tree. He's minus the funky sunglasses (but he's got the damn cigar) and he's got on a swell-looking black hat. He grins. Cassadine mansion--Stefan/Alexis Stef informs Alexis that the egg is in Switzerland. Alexis wonders why the Spencers didn't sell it, seeing how much it is worth. Stef says they would never touch Cassadine money. He doesn't care about the egg's value, only about what is inside it. It takes two medallions to open it, and Laura only has one. Alexis suspects that the Spencers planted the photo deliberately. Stef agrees it is a remote possibility, but he nevertheless must retrieve the egg. His cousin warns him that Laura will be there, waiting. "That is the source of my good cheer," Stef gloats. "She may promise to do what Luke wants..but ultimately I will be the one she obeys..." Alexis is incredulous. "Laura hates you..yet she will betray her husband for a man she despises?" Stefan is smug and self-assured. "Yes." Small stuff-- Kat's apartment: Nik recognizes the scarf Bobbie left behind on Friday. He asks Kat about it--what did Bobbie want? She hedges. "Some things are better left unsaid." He responds with a cryptic remark of his own: "Maybe it's time for everything to change..." Club stuff-- Luke's place-- Sonny questions Lucky about Matt Reynolds. Lucky admits that he knew of Matt and kids at school knew he was a dealer. Lucy tries to get all-4-one to sing at the nurses ball. Kevin informs her that he will have to work late after tonight's event. He has to use the scanner on some documents. Luke returns to the club, finds Lucky and gives him a big hug. He then calls Laura and tells her "Be prepared. Stefan took the bait." Laura looks serious and sad. She says "I know what to do." Luke says "Make that move as soon as you see his mangy little goatee." Loose ends #2--Farewell, Tom Tom opens a letter he received from Africa. It's about a job her applied for here. Audrey's surprised--she thought he had turned it down. He announces he's reconsidered. "Maybe I'll be back sooner that the last time." (Let's hope they have a story for you by then.) He and Felicia talk privately. She wants to know why he's going. "It wasn't a good experience the first time." He tells her that he feels he failed before--he returned to Port Charles to re-gain his sanity. He has her to thank for making him whole. "I've got to go back, not just for me, but for him [Steve] as well. I think it would make him proud to know I've gone back to finish what I started. It'll be my last chance to give something back to the old man." They kiss. "I love you, Felicia...I'll carry you with me always..." (So I guess Tom's revenge against the Cassadines is being dropped, huh? Maybe Audrey will take it up...) end of show cliffhanger--Jax's apartment-- Jax arrives to find Brenda waiting. She blabbers on a bit, then realizes from the look on his face that something is amiss. "What's wrong?" she asks. ***end of show***
