From: djmaryb@REMOVE-THISmindspring.com (mary b) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 4/23 Date: Sun, 27 Apr 1997 16:27:57 -0500 X-Server-Date: 27 Apr 1997 21:26:13 GMT With the exception of the bar scenes with AJ, Carly, and Jason, most of today's ep took place in the hospital, with lots of cut-tos, and quick entrances, exits, and reentrances. Updaters' nightmare, if you ask me. AJ, hungover, was communing with a glass of vodka; enter Carly. She told him she wanted to "forget last night ever happened," and asked for his help in ensuring she can. He looked perplexed. Sonny met up with Jason, outside Emily's room, and Jason filled him in on the previous night's exitement. Sonny ordered him to go home and rest, and just as he ragged to Ned about Dorman being Emily's doctor, entered Tony. Emily, awake, was distraught and embarrased. Monica and Alan attempted to comfort her and apologize for being so oblivious to her problems and drug use. As Alan pondered, "Who would sell drugs to a child," entered Dorman. He played at showing empathy for Emily, saying he doesn't blame her for not wanting to talk, and told the Q's that they should save any lectures. As Alan affirmed his purpose was to find where Emily got the drugs, Tony walked in and, officially taking over the case, booted the Big Bad D from the room. Brenda and Ned met up in the hallway, and he wrung his hands some. Alan and Monica came out and started arguing (not bad, though). Ned pointed out their behavior to Brenda and asked, is it any wonder Emily thinks her parents hate each other. Sonny and Taggert engaged, and Sonny challenged him, saying he'll find out where the drugs are coming from before the detective can. Amy told Taggert, if he wants to question Emily, he'll have to go through the proper channels. As he shuffled off to do so, Dorman slunk out and watched him, while Sonny lurked in the shadows and watched Dorman. AJ/Carly "It's not the end of the world," he says. "We tied one on together, no big deal." Carly then spilled out her "I'm not really that kind of person" schpiel...and he stopped her to ask just what happened...he blacked it out. Siezing the opportunity, Carly told him that he rescued her from passing out drunk on the floor of the bar, and took her upstairs to be sick in private. While AJ was bummed that he has no recall of doing a good deed, he bought it and asked, jokingly, her to write a nice note to Keisha, so he'll get brownie points. Enter Jason. He assumed Carly was there looking for him, and was surprised that she even knew his brother. "Who doesn't know the city councilman," she faked, said she was there because her car broke down (oh, how original!), and left for the bathroom, where she gave in to the ego slap of not being a memorable bed partner. Outside, Jason filled AJ in on Emily's big adventure. AJ was shocked. "Why would she knowingly put this stuff into her body," he asked. "Why do you drink," Jason returned. After expressing a little more outrage, AJ left for the hospital. When Carly came out of the little girl's room, Jason quizzed her a little about her knowledge of AJ, because their earlier conversation looked a little heavy to be about car troubles. Okay, she said, you caught me. I came to this really cool bar to think and get my head straight. He claimed to give her the benefit of the doubt; exit Carly. Hospital. Brenda commiserated with Ned, and told him about her circumstances (drug counseling, being without Jax or Sonny). Ned encouraged her to stick with the program. "I don't know how many me's there are inside of myself, but I haven't met one that I liked, lately," she complained. "I have," Ned reponded. Taggert asked Alan and Monica for ideas on where Emily obtained the drugs, but they were too busy kicking themselves to be much use. When he wanted to question Emily, Tony thought that wasn't a good idea just yet, and Dorman butted in to reiterate the same. "We'll ask," Alan compromised. Dorman stepped out to the courtyard to ring up Matt, but no luck. In her room, when the Qs tried to question Emily, she was vague, and when they asked about Matt, Em covered for him. They reported back to Taggert with their lack of findings, but gave him Matt's name as someone she'd been spending a lot of time with. Dorman overheard, and got uptight. Sonny spied Brenda and gave her a soulful look, so she took off to get coffee, giving Ned and Sonny a chance to catch up about and gossip about Jax's latest deeds. Back in Em's room, Monica, well into her guilt trip, flashed back to Paige's death, until Emily woke up (coincidentally, after dreaming about her natural mom). They spoke about Paige a little bit, Monica guilted about of letting Paige down, Emily tried to let her off the hook, and the two hugged. Sonny watched Dorman suck up to Taggert, ask the detective if he was making headway, and not get much info. AJ showed up wanting to see Emily, but the other Q's thought that a bad idea; Ned, of course, got his daily AJ-roast. Jason returned to the hospital and spoke with Sonny, then went on to throw *his* hat into the guilt-ring, because, he told Sonny, Nik Cassadine told him weeks ago that Em was in trouble. Later, Jason ran into Alan and Monica and asked where AJ went off to. Alan assumed AJ'd gone back to get drunk. In actuality, AJ stepped into an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, being led by our old friend Lee Baldwin. Finally, Dorman caught Matt on the phone, to tell him about his hot new product. I'll make the drop in the usual place, he told Matt. Sonny, in the hospital courtyard, assumed a Rodin pose by the flower beds.
