From: amberm@powergrid.com (Amber Mellano) Subject: GH: Update for Tuesday April 8 ,1997 Date: Wed, 09 Apr 1997 21:27:23 GMT Update for Tuesday April 8, 1997. Open at Windemere with Bobbie sitting thoughtfully on the couch recalling a bedroom scene in which she's kissing Ste-FAWN and telling him she'll miss him. Cut back to her looking a bit apprehensive. Stefan comes downstairs, closing his robe on the way - lucky FGC Stefan - and inquires what she's thinking about. They make small talk about her trip and she wonders why he wants her to go, saying that she herself questions her judgement and can't understand why he would trust her to pick out software. Next we see Katherine chatting up her nurse about how great personal shoppers are. The nurse is laying out the results of the latest work of the personal shopper, holds up a couple of evening gowns and inquires about when it would be appropriate to wear those to General Hospital. Then we see Miranda in front of Luke's calling Katherine (I'm starting to think there's a cell phone epidemic going around Port Charles) saying she just humiliated herself in front of Jax and wants to know if she can come over. Brenda and Sonny are staring at each other through the door frame of Sonny's penthouse. Sonny leans towards Brenda and she snaps "don't" at him. He backs off and walks through the door, proclaiming he's not a rapist and didn't think he was out of line to want a hug or something when she was waiting for him at his place after all. She apologizes and says she's over reacting. He asks if she's off the pills. Brenda acknowledges that she knows he was there for her in the hardest physical withdrawal and she appreciates it. She tells Sonny that she's moved into a hotel suite by herself, but that doesn't mean she's leaving Jax and she says it has nothing to do with Sonny. When Sonny challenges this statement, she gets flustered. She tries to explain that she's trying to find out who she is, on her own, and that she wants to break the cycle of always searching for somebody to love her. She says she feels like her life is a train that has taken off and brought her miles from her home and she doesn't know how she got where she is today. Sonny says that that's life, and that you either spend it in the bathroom throwing up or you find a nice private berth and curl up with someone - namely him. At Luke's, Mac and Felicia walk in. (of course, why patronize your OWN establishment after all. How gauche….) They are making small talk about competition etc. with Mike, commenting all the while that they used to have music and more people there. Mike says they also used to have Luke. Turns out that Maxie is now in Little League - something girls couldn't participate in when Felicia was young. Felicia is whining about not getting chosen to be Coach, another gender-based shut out, and Mac dons a baseball hat that says - COACH - (who'd have guessed it?). Then we find Luke and Lucky in the alley commiserating over the latest letter from the girls. Lucky isn't quite sure that keeping an eye on the Cassadine's is worth being away from his Mom and baby sister. Luke makes a very convincing - argument that he knows he can't change Bobbie's mind about Stefan, but that she'll come around eventually and he wants to be there the next time "She smells smoke". Bobbie is now playing around with the laptop under Stefan's watchful eye. She's confused by the terminology and Stefan points out that this is precisely why she's the right person to choose the new software package. Bobbie says she can't figure out why he is with HER, that he should be with someone bright and sophisticated, witty, etc. In the middle of this charming glimpse of Bobbie's insecurities, a strange crashing noise is heard in the hall. Startled by the noise, Bobbie apparently hit a wrong key on the computer and while Stefan heads out to investigate the noise, Katherine's resume appears on the screen. Hence, Katherine - rambling to a skeptical Miranda about how Stefan has obviously sent Bobbie out of town so he can be with her. Miranda makes several comments over the evening about how she's sure that Brenda and Sonny are probably together right then. Amid many witty comments - delivered in a way so as to not be funny at all - Miranda points out that she and Katherine, two of the greatest women she can think of, are interested in two marginally worthy men they can't have, and here Brenda has everything, and she wants space. Back to Brenda still explaining herself to Sonny, who still isn't buying it. He says she needs to quit running away from what they have together and for a moment Brenda appears hypnotized and Sonny draws her in for what the unaccustomed viewer would think to be a pending steamy SMOOCH. For those of us who know better - Brenda pulls away and says she wouldn't know if kissing Sonny would be the same as taking another pill. Sonny thinks she's feeling guilty about hurting Jax and urges her to quit the whole charade, and not drag it out any further, therefore hurting Jax less in the long run. Sonny says he'll help her through this because he loves her. Brenda says that he's faced his fears, but her problem is different. She is afraid of being alone, that her problems are more than just the drug addiction. She says she needs to find out who she is before she can make any decisions about her life. Sonny says he's trying to understand, but he doesn't get it. At Katherine's urging, Miranda tries on one of Katherine's new dresses - a hideous dark blue number. Katherine gives it to her, saying it's ruined now because K. could never look as good in it as M. does. After making yet another comment making it sound as though everything they do relates to men, Miranda explains her idea of falling in love - the Divine OOPS. She says that some day when you least expect it, you look up and there you are - the Divine OOPS has entered your life and you'll never be the same. Stefan returns to Bobbie at the table saying the noise was a platter dropping. Bobbie tells him that something strange happened on the computer and some file she didn't recognize appeared, so she shut down the computer. He sends her up to bed, saying he wants to stay up to check doors and windows. Back to the alley where Luke asks Lucky if he understands why it's important for Luke to be in Port Chuckles. Lucky reluctantly says he does, but that he still hates to be away from L & L-L. But he doesn't see why they "have to be so grim about it?". Luke suggests they head to the Club for a bite to eat, challenges him to a race, winner gets $10. At Luke's Felicia is thanking Mac for getting away to go to Little League with her which leads to the subject of Tom's whereabouts. Felicia says he's still stuck on the Stefan issue. She complains that he wasn't interested in the computer glitch that gave her $10K, Mac says he was mad about the one that put her in jail. She says they're totally unrelated, but it would seem Mac disagrees, as he gets that look of a light bulb going on over his head and suddenly decides it's time to head home. Luke comes stumbling breathlessly through the door, Lucky close behind, saying he only lost because Luke tripped him. Mike complains to Luke that the place is dead, they need some entertainment so Luke gives Lucky some $$ and tells him it's an advance on his salary for the position of booking agent for Luke's. Felicia gives Luke a chilly reception, responding to his questions about where Tom is - "I assumed he was with you". Luke sits down with Bubba to tell him that Taggert is a rogue cop and he should look into it. Katherine and Miranda are still discussing the clothes, and Katherine says she'd like to feel how tight the size 5 pants would be. She drifts into a fantasy where she and Stefan return to her condo after a 14 hour work day. She is complaining that she's only doing it for him so he gives her a foot massage. Then he tells her that he's left Bobbie and the two of them can run away together. Cut to Stefan staring blankly into space on the couch as Bobbie comes down the stairs and sees him. Back at Luke's Mac and Felicia are leaving, Mac tells Luke he'll look into the Taggert thing and Luke also reminds him to keep him posted on the fire investigation. Lucky rushes up with a list of talent he wants to book - among them, besides B.B. King of course - U2, after all, they played with B.B. Next we see Bobbie coming down a different set of stairs apparently as we are to believe that Stefan can't hear or see her as she looks around the room for the laptop which is now gone. While Sonny is asking Brenda how long she needs to find herself, we get set up for a big "Miranda sees Brenda at Sonny's scene - after a few near misses, finally Miranda hears voices and sees Sonny and Brenda talking in front of the elevator. She turns to Katherine and says "oops". Brenda tells Sonny she doesn't know how long she'll need.
