DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY: GH UPDATE THURSDAY, MARCH 27

1.  Brenda paces, starts to make a call, paces.  Jax comes in.  She
doesn't want him worrying about her: "I still feel like there's a
stranger living in my body."  She still hasn't called Kevin: she's afraid
of the therapy and she also hates asking for help.  Jax reminds her that
she is NOT a weakling.  He lets her call Kevin on her own.  She starts,
but there's a knock on the door.  It's Ned.  He's brought over some L&B
stuff (management contracts for Miguel: do they do anything else now?)
and he's also checking on her.  They talk about Lois and the blackmail
attempt, which [BIG surprise here!] Jax overhears. Ned: "All I wanted to
do was be with her.  No, that's not true, actually.  It's not all I
wanted or I WOULD be with her.  It's what I wanted most, but I couldn't
give up the rest."  Jax appears now, and the phone rings, and he goes
back upstairs.  Ned asks Brenda what's wrong, and she says Lois would be
ashamed of her.  She tells him about the pills.  He says Lois wouldn't
ever be ashamed of Brenda.  He leaves and Brenda finally calls Kevin.
Jax wants to take her to the appointment, but she wants to keep doing
things on her own.

2.  Lucy is hugging Kevin, apologizing for forgetting about Ryan's
death.  Kevin thinks they should have a specialty card: "Thinking of you
on the anniversary of the day your killer twin burnt to a crisp."
[Sounds like a good idea, there's lots of demand just from the soaps,
yes?]  Kevin says Lucy is inconsistent and she says she's flexible, and
he naturally brings up the upside-down trapeze act at the Nurses' Ball.

Kevin is trying on new careers to see what fits, just following Lucy's
lead.  She asks "Do you have any idea what you're going to be when you
grow up?"  She's worried about the Cassadines.  Kevin asks if she ever
wishes she had her own place back.  "Never!  Well, hardly ever."  They
discuss redoing the lighthouse, and start kissing and, well, have Love in
the Afternoon.  When they start the Encore, however, the phone rings, and
it's Brenda.  Lucy answers but soon turns the phone over to Kevin.

About half an hour later, it's dark outside (part of the same reality that
makes for the Midnight Bridge, apparently) and Brenda is pacing in front
of the door.  Kevin lets her in.

DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO ME, Part 1.
Nik lets Stefan into Katherine's apartment.  Stefan claims to have
business matters to discuss with Katherine.  Nik thinks it's fantastic.
He's like a huge overgrown puppy [maybe why Emily likes him?  He reminds
her of the missing Raoul?]  Stefan says he's been doing university level
work for some time.  Katherine asks Nik to leave.  She figures the job at
G.H. is off.  They discuss Bobbie's condition, and Stefan asks when Luke
was there.

Katherine is angry.  Stefan is angry too.  "When I make a decision, it's
final."  [Right, that's why he keeps deciding to stay away from
Katherine, again and again, and again.]  He will tell her what she wants
to know.  "What was the real reason you married Bobbie Jones?"  He dances
around the question.  "Did you love your wife when you married her?"
Katherine sends him off, but he turns around at the door and rushes to her
side and kisses her.

*yawn*

[Oh, sorry, I nodded off.]

DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO ME, Part 2.
Emily is at the park sitting on a bench.  Some snotty girls from school
come up, and ask "Was everything in the newspaper true about your Mom?"
Emily starts to leave and Nik comes by and rescues her.  They discuss the
girls, and having families that always make headlines.  Emily is really
grateful.  [Your Fearless Updater really liked Nik in these scenes, and
in the ones for the next day.] Nikolas made her feel special.  He tells
her she *is* special.  She starts off, but turns and kisses Nik.  [And that
felt embarrassingly real, too, unlike the "your folks gave us Swanson's!"
style hokiness of the Stefan-Katherine thing.  Your Fearless Updater
worried all night about how Nik would react.]
