GH UPDATE, THURSDAY MARCH 13

ANOTHER DAY OLDER AND DEEPER IN STUFF

1. Alan goes to see Kevin to ask about A.J. "Do I have to hang on till I
watch my son destroy himself and everyone else around him?" Kevin asks
Alan about the pain and they discuss the relative pleasures of punching
Dorman and being punched by same. Alan talks about not being able to
give A.J. unconditional love, just like Edward with him. Kevin points
out that "A.J. will drink until he can't any more." He suggests Al-Anon,
but Alan rejects it. He doesn't want to talk about others' problems.

2. In the boathouse, A.J. is shaving. Emily drops in with a thermos of
tomato juice. Emily comments: "You said you could handle the alcohol."
"I was wrong." Keesha, meanwhile, has called Jason. She insists he
should FEEL something. Keesha feels guilt that Jason is hurt because of
her. "Why?" he cuts to the chase. "Is this about YOU?" "If you were
out walking on the beach, and you saw A.J. drowning, would you try to
save him?" This confuses Jason, who doesn't do analogies. Jason goes to
the boathouse and Ned comes in and Keesha tells him she will never
forgive him. She tells Ned off at the top of her lungs. Naturally,
Monica comes in. Keesha claims the disagreement is because she can't
stay in the same room as Ned. Monica adopts a schoolmarm persona and
suggests then that they stay apart. She leaves, Keesha leaves, Ned sees
Emily on the patio and asks how much she heard. "I heard Keesha lie to
Monica. She's going to be like the rest of us." Ned tries to say that
some lies are necessary, and Emily points out the obvious, that it
doesn't work. Alan and Monica come in, Ned leaves, Emily asks to "go to
the library" (for someone who was preaching honesty a second ago...)
and Alan offers the car. Emily wants to walk. Monica tries to explain
about the arguments, and Emily brushes her off and calls Matt.

Meanwhile, back in the boathouse, AJ had told Emily that he was through
with the booze. It's over. It was the lies, not the liquor. Jason came
in and Emily left. AJ tells Jason "I drink, therefore I am." Jason
suggests that he drinks because he's addicted. A.J., the idiot, brings
up Robin. Jason asserts: "It's not the same thing. She's fighting like
crazy against what's in her blood stream. You keep putting poison in
yours." Jason leaves.

3. At Wyndemere, Bobbie has changed into something non-black, subtly
showing, I think, her dawning doubts about Stefan. (It's a leopard print
jacket.) She remembers Felicia's words and asks: "SteFAWN? [Geeze,
that's annoying!] I need the truth. Did you save Leslie the night of her
accident or did you arrange everything and keep her drugged, all those
years?" "As your brother contends." She gets flirtacious. "You don't
think I have a mind of my own." [Now where would he get a silly idea
like that?] He starts to answer, and Alexis comes in. They talk about
Monica and the case. "Some family, the Quartermaines." Alexis asks
about Lucas. "I think kids are resilient. At least I hope they are."
[Big neon hint here!] They talk about Luke. Then Nik and Stefan come in
chatting about Katherine. Nik saw Luke. Bobbie is stunned. She asks
SteFAWN why Luke stayed. Bobbie leaves and Stefan asks Nik more about
Katherine's progress.

Later, Kevin comes and Stefan likes his personnel protocol. Bobbie comes
by and glares at Kevin, who says he'll follow his own trail of
breadcrumbs out. [THAT would offend Mrs. Lansbury!] Stefan asks "Why so
cold?" Bobbie, whose ideas of loyalty are oddly fluid, says "Felicia's
my friend and he terrorized her." Stefan and Bobbie hug.

4. Luke is talking to Sonny in Harborview Towers Penthouse 4. [Who is
in 1 and 3, that's what I want to know?] He asks about Brenda: "This is
the end of the chapter, but are you through with the book?" They talk
about Switzerland. Across the hall Carly sees Nik: "Miss Bell has really
good taste in butlers. " Katherine is ready to rumble. They talk about
Tai Chi.

Back in #4, Mike comes in, and Luke goes out to get the groceries. He
sees Nik, who thought he was in Switzerland. Luke calls Nik a "nosy
little bastard." [I rarely have liked Luke less. Grr.] "How about your
wife? Is she still here?" "Try Switzerland." He goes back in: "Hey,
Sonny, you need to call the exterminators, you've got vermin crawling out
of the walls here." [Your Fearless Updater wanted to wring his neck at
this point.] They talk about Stefan and Katherine. Luke thinks Stefan
wrote the script for Katherine, and Nik is watching how she does.
"Bobbie is SO out ot lunch!"

Later, Luke sees Carly leaving Katherine's. He'd been wondering how to
find out what was up with Katherine, and now he tells Sonny: "I think I
just saw my In go out."
