Date: 03/18 10:07 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com GENERAL HOSPITAL, THURSDAY FEBRUARY 27, MOVING RIGHT ALONG: The plots stop treading water and move forward: 1.Laura talks to Leslie, who tells her "You take very good care of me." Monica drops in for a visit and Leslie reacts: "I know that voice. It's Monica, isn't it?" Monica apologizes to Laura for blowing up at her: "God knows I am the last person in the world to pass judgement." Leslie pipes up: "Well, things certainly have changed around here if you really believe that!" [Do we really HAVE to lose Leslie just 'cause Laura's gone?] Monica tells Laura, "No matter how bad the truth is, it's preferable to living a lie." Laura thinks there are some secrets which should never be revealed: especially those of the writers to the actors. She goes off to see Lulu and Leslie and Monica talk. Leslie says "Laura worries all the time about everyone." Luke comes back after Monica has left, and Lucky asks if Leslie remembers her. "She's hard to forget." [Dump the Spencers! Keep Leslie!] 2. At the preliminary hearing, Justus is there, but Alexis isn't, which perturbed Your Fearless Updater. Justus points out to Luke that even beyond the shooting, Luke did trespass and threaten Stefan. When the hearing starts, Dara asks Tom about Leslie, then asks Bobbie about the shooting. Bobbie didn't really think Luke would kill them both, but she did think he might kill Stefan. Stefan, meanwhile, has Yet Another Flashback. He talks about finding Katherine. Luke can't tell Dara anything: "I wasn't there." Just then Nikolas wheels Katherine in "Well I was there, and there are a few things I would like to way about it." (Earlier, at the hospital, Nik visited Katherine, and they talked about Leslie and about the hearing.) Katherine claims not to remember who shot her, but she wants to clarify what happens if she remembers next week, or in five years. Justus asks that charges be dropped. Katherine says "one more thing:" She's in the wheelchair for a very stupid reason, an ancient feud between two families. She wants it to stop. Stefan proposes a deal. He won't press charges if the Spencers stop trespassing and promise there will be no more public smearing of the Cassadine name. Dara tells Luke to stick around, in case charges come up in the future. Nik wheels Katherine out and goes back to ask Lucky to ask Leslie if he can see her again. Lucky is snotty. [Your Fearless Updater would like to shake him till his teeth drop out and his attitude improves. But then, YFU felt that way when he was being snotty to his Aunt Bobbie, too. He's not seeing enough of Sly and too much of Luke!] Luke thanks Katherine for remaining neutral. Stefan talks to Katherine: "Wonderful to see you outside the hospital." Bobbie, who had to be professional in the hearing room, comes out singing "You are ABsolutely reMARKable!" Looks like she tried to get all her daily lines into that one. They all go home. 3. THE NEVERENDING SIDAR, LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA, NEVERENDING SIDAR: a. Part 1. Mirander serves tea to Jax. They've driven around all night, and there's no evidence to contradict Brenda's note. But, Jax says, he and Brender are friends. Minsipid agrees not to speak against Brenda any more. The phone rings. A minion has located Jason. (Jason, at the hospital, speaks to Rebecca Chase, who is polite till she realizes who he is. He says "If the God you worship comes in a stack of 100s, shouldn't you be swearing on a pile of cash instead of the Bible?" [Good one!] Dorman comes by and Jason says he should have hurt him worse. Alan comes by. Audrey comments that as far as she knows, Rebecca is a good nurse. [Audrey is the only person around who seems to keep a steady mind and not get swayed by emotion.] Alan says by rights he should throw Jason out, but "as chief of staff I preserve the right to protect certain harassers whose hearts are in the right place.") Jax storms into the hospital wanting to know where Sonny is. Jason says Brenda and Sonny took off together. Jax and Miranda leave, and head back to the apartment where Jax is miserable. He and Miranda kiss. [Actually, YFU thought this was believable. A sort of "I'm not really unlovable, am I?" proof. A comfort-f***.] Jason thanks Alan for his news about Robin and leaves. b:Part 2, LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA In the cave, Sonny asks Harry why they're still alive. [There's ONE, count it, ONE lantern. With really fantastic batteries. This has become two lanterns, still with great batteries, by the next night. I want one of those the next time I go camping.] Harry explains that they'll have to suffer before they die so Lily can rest in peace. "You never trusted me, otherwise you would have listened and not thrown your life away on some little tramp." Sonny points out that killing Brenda is a mistake. Harry: "You want me to kill you and let the whore go?" Brenda [kudos to Marcil for these scenes, in withdrawal, in fear for her life, beautifully acted!] says to let them both go. Harry points out to Sonny that Brenda is a junkie. "And I didn't even have to set her up like I did you..." Suddenly, and about time, the light dawns on Sonny. He's shocked that Harry's been bringing this junk into town. He tells Harry he's sloppy, what with the nurse disappearing. "Who's really calling the shots?" The phone rings. [They work in caves? Sorry, I really don't know much about modern technology, apart from 'puters.] Harry finally picks it up. We see it's Dorman.
