SECRETS AND LIES: GH UPDATE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 20

1. AT THE OUTBACK
Sonny and Jason are at the Outback to talk to Mac, and they see Taggart.
He swaggers over to the table and makes himself comfortable, and calls
Sonny a "lowlife smack shooting drug-dealing thug."  Taggart tries to get
Jason angry.  Jason laughs and says it won't work.  Sonny warns Taggart
about using a woman, and Taggart talks about Brenda and the SIDAR.  Sonny
asks: "Is that all you've got?  Some stuff about my love life?  You're
either one lousy cop or I'm not as bad as I think I am."  Taggart leaves.
Jason is worried but Sonny says sooner or later Taggert will slip.

Mac and Felicia tease each other.  Tom comes in and the two males stomp
and posture.  It must be spring.  Felicia is angry with Tom.  Mac talks
to Sonny about Taggart.  As Sonny and Jason leave, Sonny says "Goodnight,
detective" to a bush.

2. IN KATHERINE'S ROOM
Mac and Miranda see Felicia who had been waiting for Tom, but she's now
going to visit Katherine.  K. is being harassed by Tom, who wants her to
remember that Stefan shot her.  Katherine is delighted to see Felicia as
long as they talk aobut frivolous things like chocolate eclairs and fashion.
Mac follows Tom out ("Don't be a jerk, for once in your life!")  and tells
him to leave Katherine out of his feud.  Tom makes a snide remark about Mac
rescuing ex-girlfriends.  When Mac goes in, there he is surrounded by his
ex-girlfriend harem.  Felicia and Miranda, who have had a whole 2 minutes
there, leave Mac and Katherine.  K. tells Mac she is going home, to her
own home.

Miranda comes back with cookies and they talk about Bobbie.  Katherine
loses all the sympathy points she'd gained with me by encouraging Miranda
to continue the SIDAR.  Miranda has shown her legendary spunk by tearing
up the divorce letter.  (Boy, THERE's a feisty act!)

3. AT CARLY'S APARTMENT
Luke has come to see Tony, at Tony's request.  Tony wants to know if Luke
actually knows that Stefan shot Katherine or is it just Spencer wishful
thinking.  Luke knows, he says, he just can't prove it.  Tony tells Luke
that he's filing for custody of Lucas.  Luke hopes this will shake Bobbie
loose.  Tony says "I wait and I pray that no one else comes on that
island with a gun."  Luke actually looks sheepish for a microsecond.

Carly, in a panic, reaches home.  She overhears Tony say "I'd give
anything to get Bobbie safe back in the Brownstone."  "What's going on?"
she asks.  "Just a visit from Uncle Luke."  [Heh.]   Carly
never made it to see Katherine.  Luke leaves after Tony tells him "The
last thing I want to do is hurt Bobbie more than I already have."  Tony
wants to know if Carly is really all right, and she claims it's just a
headache.

4.  AT WINDEMERE
Stefan has called Laura a whore, and as she's riposting "You bastard!"
Bobbie appears.  "Don't let me interrupt."  Laura apologizes and Bobbie
says "Oh, well, that changes everything, doesn't it?  In your whole life
has there ever been anythign that 'I'm sorry' couldn't fix?  Well, there
is now.  Go.  And don't come back."  Stefan says no, not yet.  Bobbie
wants to know why Laura is there, to cause more pain?  "I never wanted to
hurt my son."  "I'll tell him that.  I'm sure it's going to make him feel
a lot better."  Laura says she did everything wrong, but she was
protecting her mother.  Bobbie wants proof.  She's a nurse, she can read
a toxicology chart.  Laura claims Stefan is using Bobbie.  "You sound
just like Luke.  Just as irrational.  Just as pathetic."

Laura leaves. Stefan follows her to the dock. "Bobbie has a tendency to
overstate the obvious [Ah, he's noticed!] but she's right.  Your
apologies are repetitious and ineffective."  "I was protecting my
mother."  "The price was very high, Lasha.  A debt is owed.  One of
many."  He wants the truth.  He has kept silent for her sake, but now
it's clear she hates them, and his silence is finished.  "You called me a
monster, but no monster would ever do what you did to your son.  He
grieved for you.  He wept at your grave.  REAL tears, unlike yours.  You
told Nikolas you loved him, made him believe and then threw him away as
if he were nothing.  The lies you told me, the false kiss goodbye, those
things I could overlook.  But you hurt your son knowingly, deliberately,
and for that, so help me God, I will make you pay."  "I AM paying," Laura
asserts.  "What more could you possibly want?"  "I think you know."  The
light dawns:  "You can't... but there's no need!"  Then Laura starts to
bargain:  "All right, if my mother recovers..." "You think I care what
happens to your mother?"  "If she recovers I promise you she will not
press charges no matter what she remembers..." "It doesn't matter what
she remembers.  I can take the one thing you've ever values.  I can make
you lose your love forever."  "No, please, please..." "Please.  Such a
pretty word, but so useless.  But I loved you once -- and I'll give you
this.  I won't speak yet, and I'll warn you before I do.  Don't mistake
it for kindness.  I can tell the truth whenever I need to.  Until then,
remember, your happiness comes at my mercy."  Laura does what she does
best, she cries.  And leaves.

Stefan and Bobbie talk.  "Not only do you grace my home, but you fill my
heart and defend my honor."  They talk about Katherine, while "Seventh
Guest" music plays hauntingly.  Stefan says he only visited her from concern.

5. AT THE SPENCER'S
Lucky is talking to Leslie.  Leslie says she wants Laura.  She says Lulu
looks "like the other boy."  She wants to know about the bone-marrow
transplant.  "He's a good boy.  Like you."  [Your Fearless Updater loves
Leslie, and doesn't want her to leave PC!]

Lucky tells Luke about this conversation.  "Grandma seemed to like him."
"Grandma ain't playing with a full deck."  Laura comes in all upset.
They tell her that Leslie talked to Nikolas.  Laura panics.  When Luke
goes to rustle up some dinner (pizza: these folks never actually cook for
themselves!  Apart from apple cobbler, anyway!) Laura tells Lulu that
"Mommy made a big mistake tonight.  Stefan is so angry we could lose
everything."
