Subject: GH Update 2/5 Sent: 2/10/97 10:05 PM From: Pat Herman, pat7@worldnet.att.net General Hospital Update Wednesday, February 5, 1997 Today's Stories ** The Stranger In the Night ** ** The Not-So-Dead Laura Arrives in Port Charles ** ** The 3 Musketeers vs. The PCPD ** ** The Stranger In the Night Audrey and on orderly help get Katherine back into bed after her fall. Audery asks what happened, and Katherine explains she had a dream where she got out of bed and stood up to walk to the window. In her dream she thought it was possible for her to walk, but in reality that's not the case. Audrey asks Katherine is she wants a mild sedative to help her sleep. Katherine refuses and tells Audrey about her nightly visitor and how good he makes her feel. Meanwhile at Wyndemere, Nicholas agrees to escort Bobbie to the dedication of the hospital renovation. He tells her that he didn't honor his mother when she was alive, but he'll do it now. Bobbie tells him he has a big heart, just like his mother. Nicholas leaves the room, and Stefan and Bobbie discuss how he's changed. Stefan tells her how he can't to anything right around Nicholas and how they are no longer close, and he no longer trusts his uncle. Bobbie reassures him saying Nicholas has had a lot of changes to deal with lately. She continues that Nicholas still loves Stefan and love will win in the end. Stefan thanks her and leaves to go to GH. Stefan arrives at Katherine's room, and she tells him about her dream. Stefan comments on the power of dreams and believes that the dream was telling her she's getting ready to walk again. As Katherine tells Stefan that she's now happy and optimistic because of him, Stefan remembers the explosion that killed (at least that's what he thinks) Laura and Lesley. He replies that he usually has the opposite effect on people. He states, "I'm not at all what you think I am." Katherine tries to tell Stefan how much he's given her. Stefan explains how his life has always been. He's always known how to get what he wanted. It's always been the pursuit that was the thrill, not the winning. His whole life he's been in transit. Going from one thing to another but never actually landing anywhere. It's only recently that he's wondered what his final destination was, other than the grave. He now thinks that it's the arriving that is most important, actually belonging to someone. Before he met Katherine, he was surrounded by darkness. He often didn't know how he'd make it through each night. Then he met her, and he would think of her and come to see her in the night. He wanted to make sure he wasn't imagining his feelings. Katherine then tells him that before she met him, she just wanted the doctors and visitors to get out and leave her alone. Then she met him, and she didn't want him to get out. She felt calm and peaceful, and exactly like him. Stefan They stare into each others eyes and come close to kissing once again. Suddenly, Stefan gets up, kisses Katherine's forehead and leaves. ** The Not-So-Dead Laura Arrives in Port Charles After Luke, Sonny, and Tom have been taken away, Laura breaks down and cries. Lesley reaches out and says, "Don't cry" and hugs her. Laura is amazed realizing that her mother is back. She calls for Lucky to come down, but by the time he gets there, Lesley has slipped back in to the catatonic state. Laura explains to both Mac and Lucky what just happened, but they are having trouble believing her. Laura tells Mac that she would have gotten better if they had been able to get to Switzerland. Lucky believes they can still go, but Laura tells him they have to stay and get Luke out of jail and defend against the charges. She also tells him she must go see Nicholas and tell him before he finds out on his own. Lucky is not happy about his mother seeing Nicholas. Laura attempts to explain how Nicholas will feel. Lucky tells his mom to just do what she has to. He admits that he agrees with her about Nicholas' feelings, but his opinion of Nicholas hasn't changed. Laura is worried about Lesley, and Mac suggest calling Kevin, despite the fact that he's lost his license. He feels Kevin could help. Laura is grateful, but wants to see Nicholas before anything gets out. Lucky tells her to go; he and Mac will stand guard. Before she goes, Laura makes a call. Bobbie answers the phone and is stunned to hear Laura's voice. Bobbie and Laura meet on the dock at Wyndemere. Bobbie immediately lays into her asking if she knew how she felt when she heard Laura's voice on the phone. She slaps Laura saying "You selfish bitch." Laura understands Bobbie's feelings and tries to explain why things happened like they did, but Bobbie is in no mood to listen. Bobbie tells Laura she will never forgive Luke from baring her from the funeral. Laura tries to explain about Lesley, but Bobbie staunchly defends Stefan saying that if Lesley is alive, it's because Stefan protected her. Laura tells Bobbie that she'll see how Stefan *protected* her, giving her drugs, costing her her memory and mind. Bobbie stands firm continuing to defend Stefan saying Laura should be grateful to him. Then she turns on Luke. Laura admits that she was grateful to Stefan, until she saw Lesley and what the Cassadine's did to her. Laura goes on that Luke was right about Stefan. Bobbie says that she believes Luke shot Katherine accident ally while aiming for Stefan. Laura can't believe what she's hearing. Laura asks for Bobbie's help in telling Nicholas she's alive. According to Bobbie, it was left for her to comfort Nicholas after Laura's *death*, and to tell Nicholas what a great person his mother was. Bobbie suggests she stay dead, but Laura tells her she can't since their cover has been blown. Laura is grateful to Bobbie for taking care of her son. Bobbie replies, "My son now." "You're his stepmother, right?" corrects Laura. "The woman who married the man responsible for this tragedy." Bobbie replies that she's not responsible for her *death*. Laura fears for Bobbie and what Stefan will eventually make her become. Bobbie wants to know if Luke gave Laura all of the details about her funeral. How Amy had to take a leave of absence. How Ruby has aged so much since Luke took the kids away. How hard it's been on Nicholas. Laura once again begs Bobbie to help her break the news to Nicholas. She explains to Bobbie that it's Nicholas she's thinking about. She tries to get Bobbie to believe that she loves Nicholas and wants to do what's right for him. Nicholas then shows up at the dock asking who's out there. He turns to go down the stairs and it stunned to see Laura standing there. ** The 3 Musketeers vs. The PCPD At the PCPD Luke explains how Stefan planned to kill Laura. He explains the computer game and how he and Lucky were able to figure out where he was keeping Lesley. He got there just in time to get them both out before the explosion. In that instant, Luke decided that they would be safer if they stayed dead. Taggart doesn't believe Luke was alone and wants to know who was helping him. Luke explains that he improvised the entire thing. If he did improvise it, Taggart wants to know about the bodies that were found. He's especially interested in the fact that Laura's wedding ring was found on one of the bodies. Taggart tells Luke that planting the bodies indicates premeditation. Luke is annoyed by Taggart's lack of vision and explains that Stefan planned the entire thing. He's done it before with Lesley, and it's his MO. As for the ring, Laura's wedding ring is on her finger. The one they found was a fake. Luke tells Taggart that he didn't call Tom and Sonny until after they relocated. He called Tom because he was concerned about Lesley. He called Sonny to help them leave the country. He further tells Taggart that Sonny advised him that leaving the country was a bad idea. Taggart isn't buying any of it and moves on to harassing Sonny. Luke's had enough and jumps in saying that it is him who is being accused not Sonny. Sonny explains that all Taggart wants to do is put him away, and he doesn't care how . In the meantime, Kevin arrives at the Spencer hideout and is stunned to find out that Laura is alive. Mac explains about Lesley, saying she's in a bad way. Kevin reminds Mac that he no longer has his license, but Mac explains that he's a consultant. Tom is her physician, but is unavailable at the moment since he's been hauled in for questioning. Mac tells Kevin that this must be kept quiet. "No problem," replies Kevin. Kevin approaches Lesley and explains who he is. He checks her eye response and asks Mac, "Who did this to her?" Lucky comes down from upstairs saying LuLu is asleep so they can all get going. Mac is in no hurry, so Lucky explains that he needs to get to town because his dad "is being railroaded by the cops." "One aggressive cop'" corrects Mac. He continues that if Luke can prove his story, he'll get off. Mac promises. Lucky starts to say that if he'd followed the plan none of this would be happening. He wonders why he always has to improvise rather than following the plan. Kevin tells Lucky not to be too hard on himself, but Lucky explains he'll understand when all the facts come out. He then asks Mac for a straight answer about what will happen to his dad. Taggart is called out of the room. Luke asks Sonny if he will be okay in lock-up for the night. He replies that he will be, and Luke tells him he'll be out in the morning. Luke wonders why they haven't heard from Mac yet. Taggart returns saying he wants to question Luke alone. Sonny demands to see his lawyer, but Taggart doesn't let him. He tells Sonny they're checking out his lawyer, and if he's clean, maybe Sonny can see him in the morning. Tom and Luke both demand to make their phone calls to no avail. Taggart puts Sonny in the cell with Tom saying he'll try to arrange for a long stay. As Taggart leaves, Tom starts screaming about due process and his rights. Sonny has flashbacks to his childhood and being locked in the closet by his stepfather. In the room by himself, Luke calls the house and Lucky answers. Luke tells him to hang in there and be cool. Lucky tells Luke about Kevin looking after Lesley. When Luke asks to talk to Laura, Lucky tells him that she went to see Nicholas. Kevin tells Mac that Lesley needs to be in a hospital since she's traumatized. Kevin suggests GH, at least for the short term. Mac suddenly realizes that he has to tell Katherine that it's likely Stefan shot her. THE END
