From: "Kymmi" <kymmis@spry.com> Subject: GH: Update from 1/23, Warning: LONG Date: 24 Jan 1997 22:39:37 GMT Okay, this one is really long. There was some incredible dialogue, though, and I wanted to include every juicy word! Enjoy! We join our story as Tom finds Nikolas tearing up the supply room. Witty repartee from Tom on the merits of tossing bed pans. Heās noticed all the damage already done. In true Nikolas fashion, he offers to pay for the damage done. Tom says this isnāt the point. This annoys Nikolas who wants to know exactly what the point is. "Your mother" Tom adeptly points out. Lucy and Kevin are talking about Kevinās meeting with the Cassadines. Lucy is none too impressed. Kevin makes the obvious jokes. Lucy is curious about all of the interest Stephen is showing Kevin. Kevin will take whatever interest he can get. Lucy is particularly upset about him "paddling out to that god forsaken island". She once again warns him about how strange Stephen is. Lucy is nervous about her upcoming meeting with Katherine. Kevin is beginning to think that Lucy likes her. Sheās confused at her feelings for Katherine. She dislikes her but doesnāt wish any bodily harm on the woman. Some classic Lucy dialogue here. Lucy enters the hospital room, and the perfectly coifed woman herself wakes up. Felicia runs into Kevin outside, and neither knows what to say. Stephen is doing what he does best, flashbacks, when big eyed Bobbie comes in saying how happy she is that Stephen is home. Stephen canāt take her yammering at the moment, and says he needs to be alone. He takes his leave. Bobbies eyes get real big and she sighs. Sonny and Jax are squaring off. Jax insisting that although Sonny is the problem, that all is going to change. Miranda and Brenda are squaring off, much in the same manner. Brenda has brought Miranda the book. Miranda tries, unsuccessfully, to make cracks about what the book could be, kitchen secrets, microwaving a can of soup. No, Brenda says sweetly, itās a book of poetry from Jax. I hope you enjoy it, it is the last one youāre ever going to get from him. If youāre keeping score at home, Miranda 0, Brenda 1. Miranda is doing her I donāt understand act. Does this woman understand anything? She wants to know why Jax didnāt bring it by. Jax was flustered and forgot it, the truth from Brenda. Miranda doesnāt want games, at least between the two of them. Brenda agrees. Miranda wants her to come clean. Brenda does. She came over assuming that book represents the end between Miranda and Jax. And that she wonāt be "haunting" him from the sidelines. Do the right thing. According to you, Miranda points out (trying to act again). Brenda points out that if she loves Jax, this is the time to prove she really cares about Jax. She needs to tell him that she can survive without Jax. Let him go. Speaking of letting go, Jax is saying the same thing to Sonny. Along with the jaw clenching and chest puffing. Been here done that, Sonny points out. Jax points out that itās done, itās over. Because you say so? Jax thinks he gets some sick pleasure from coercing women spending time with him. "IF thatās what you need to think, then hey, knock yourself out, or better yet, why donāt you knock me out? Get it out of your system. Once and for all. Come on! Do it!" Sonny delivers in typically Sonny-style. "When I lift my hand to you" Jax says a little too calmly, "it will be to kill you." Oooh ooooh! My husband astutely points out that he wouldnāt be threatening Sonnyās life. Sleeping with the fishes. I tend to agree. This man has let his mousse seep into his brain. "I knew youād say that, you know why? You might glow in the dark from being the great white hope and all (too funny!) but underneath that fancy accent and those baby blues, youāre just like me, Jaxy boy, and I bet it keeps you up at night". Jax looks none too pleased at that last comment. If youāre keeping score at home, Jax: 1, Sonny 3 Lucy and Katherine in the hospital. Iām hoping Lucy is going shopping for Katherineās long lost personality. Sheās babbling. She brought her some catalogs to peruse. Kat looks bored. Lucy figured that "even a paralyzed vain insipid little cruel creature like yourself would still want to shop" go Lucy go Lucy go Lucy! But no, Katās not responding. Lucy is annoyed that she wonāt fight back. Kevin lamely tries to apologize for running into Filly. Worthless dialogue ensues. Filly finds out that Kevin is on his way to the dark castle, Felicia is astounded and asks Kevin if he lost his mind again. Nice Felicia. Someone failed Tact 101. Stephen helps Bobbie on with her coat and admits that heās an ass. That was big of him. Of course Bobbie giggles. Stephen apologizes for taking it out on Bobbie. She wants to know what set him off. That insufferable Tom Hardy. Then he calls him small minded and proceeds to slander him. He tells Bobbie that Tom opposes the memorial to Laura. Bobbie is pissed. She wants to know where Tom gets off. After all, Nikolas is Lauraās son. Bobbie gives that great advice, give it time, and Tom has nothing to say about any GH memorial. This is obviously a trait that Stephen likes. Bobbie is leaving, taking Lucas to the GH daycare. Stupid conversation about getting a governess. Bobbie leaves with her classic line, "youāll see Iām always right!" said, of course, with the big eyed, childlike voice. Puh-leaze. Once gone, Stephen calls Alexis wanting details on his meeting with Kevin. Theyāve been distracted from their "goal" long enough, itās time to get a move on. Katherine wants to know if snow is forecast. Sheās obviously avoiding any real conversation. Lucy gives some weather details because Katherine misses it. Lucy tells Kat to snap out of it. Sheās no fun. I couldnāt agree more. Give her hell Lucy! Nikolas wants Tom to get out of the store room. Heās not going to trash it. Tom is trying to relate to Nikolas. Tom parallels losing his father. He gives him some advice about the pain, how hard it is to heal, how it shows itself. Sounds like heās either writing prose or a thesis. The gist, Tom understands his loss. As Tom is going to leave, Nikolas tells him that his father died in that room. Even though he didnāt know him, Nik went there to try and be close to his father. Didnāt work. Nikolas appreciates the words, but knows that Tom doesnāt give a damn about him. Throws the memorial up in Tomās face. Then wants to know what Tom is doing there and wants with him. Clenched teeth from the two of them. I liked Tomās soliloquy of pain, but liked Nikolas getting his feet under him and attacking Tom on his own. This kid is good. Tom doesnāt want anything from Nikolas. Nik aināt buying it. Tom turns and flashes back to a recent convo with Laura about Leslie and trying to reach her. Laura then asks about Nikolas. She asks Tom to keep an eye on him for her. Tom tells Nikolas, who doesnāt look thrilled, that he should try to get to know his mother. All she does is leave, but if you havenāt noticed, sheās dead. Tom pushes on about how much information about Laura and Leslie is in the hospital. Nikolas doesnāt know why he should care. You canāt wish your family away, Tom tells him. Bobbie walks in, wide eyed of course. Tom points out that sheās a good place to start. Bobbie looks clueless again. Nikolas asks Bobbie to tell him about his mother. Felicia realizes that her comment was inappropriate. Kevin feels bad about what heās done. Tony comes around and looks concerned. Kevin feels bad again. Tony asks how itās going, and tells him he misses seeing Kevin around. Lucy comes out and warns Tony that Katās spirits suck. Tony leaves. Lucy tells Kevin about how lame Kat was being. Kevin of course isnāt surprised. He blames it on the specialist. Raised hopes, and all. Tony brings up PT, and Katherine says sheās made a decision. Jax and Sonny are at it again. Jax says heās nothing like Sonny. Sonny pushes the point, taking what they want, not asking for permission, theyāre both fighters, hey they even have the same taste in women. Sonny wouldnāt kick Miranda out · Jax goes for Sonny. "Hey! Donāt you ever, donāt you ever touch me." Sonny looks mean. "come on, you want to hit me Jaxy boy?" Jax points out that he wouldnāt today, because itās the first day in his and Brendaās new life together. So stay away. "You teach her to say that," Sonny says "and it might make a difference". Yow! Great acting on both parts. Two thumbs way way up! Brenda wants Miranda to understand that by giving Miranda the divorce it means that Jax isnāt in love with her anymore. Heās made his choice. Brenda wants her to let him let go of the guilt so he can move on. Miranda doesnāt know whether to admire her for her nerve or make allowances for her ignorance. Miranda makes some Sonny cracks. Miranda points out that Sonny is still stirring up trouble, and itās for Brenda. She also thinks itās the way Brenda likes it, two men jumping hoops. Brenda is surprised that Sonny came by. Miranda threatens to not think that she has the right to hurt Jax, or that Miranda would just stand by and watch. Let me just say that this dialogue wasnāt half bad, but the acting on Mirandaās side stunk to high heaven. This couldāve been some powerful stuff, but sadly wasnāt. I donāt know about Brenda, but Miranda doesnāt scare me. Brenda tells her to get a life. Hers isnāt available. Go Brenda! She runs into Filly on the way out. Miranda tells Felicia that Brenda is everything that she despises about women. When she is describing Brenda, it sounds like sheās describing herself to me. Miranda canāt believe that Jax is with her. Sheās furious at him. Felicia wants to know if sheās furious enough to try to keep him. Flashback to tongue hockey at the shack. Miranda says she canāt. Bobbie is telling Nikolas about Laura. She tells him that Laura could be very irritating at times. Bobbie whines about always being seen as tough, where as men saw Laura as this fragile thing. I canāt believe Bobbie is doing this. She tries to redeem herself, that Laura was like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Bobbie waxes about all the things she appreciated about Laura. How good, wise, special, you get the picture. Nik is enthralled, especially when she mentions on how Laura was different when she came back from Greece. Sheās trying to let him know how much she loved him. Nik is obviously in pain, and angry that he ran out of time with her. Bobbie gives Nik a big hug. Kevin and Stephen are making some chit chat about being from Switzerland. Kevin tells him about Ryan and how the people treated him when he came to town. Stephen has a great line about knowing what itās like to answer to the sins of a brother. Steph wants to know if Kev hated Ryan. No, and you? Yes, but I loved him very much. The start talking about Nikolas. Stephen wants to lobby the board about privilege reinstatement. Stephen is serious. He brings up teaching. Kevin would consider it. Stephen then says that he was reading a transcript of a man he always admired very greatly, Victor Collins. Related? Ooooh, this is getting good! Kevin says Collins is a common name. Stephen brings up some more facts. Kevin wonāt answer and Stephen picks up on it. Victor Collins is my father, but that doesnāt come as a surprise to you. So why? Stephen speaks in riddles. Thereās some great dialogue between these two. Stephen is fascinated by the concept of family and random grouping. Kevin jumps in, speaking the same type of prose as Stephen. Bobbie is brought up, leading to Luke, leading to Lucy not believing that Luke shot Katherine. Stephen says that Luke has an unsettling effect on otherwise reasonable women. "If it looks like a duck·" Stephen says "Itās probably Sigmund" Kevin finishes. They talk Kat. Kevin brings up how lame it was for Tony to bring in a specialist. How this hindered the progress. Stephen is upset when Kevin explains the ramifications to what has been done. Kat is meanwhile doing her best Camille impression. Tonyās annoyed. Heās blaming Stephen. Kat tells him she wonāt be going to PT anymore. She wants to go home. Nikolas overhears. Felicia leaves, and Miranda realizes how self centered she has been. Felicia tells Miranda that divorce is a big deal, and she better be sure. Miranda looks like sheās desperately trying to generate a thought in that puny head of hers. She does another big sigh. Picks up the book and stares at it blankly. Sonny and Jax. Jax is telling Sonny how much he doesnāt like Brenda, meanwhile Brenda has walked in. Sonny says, "that sounds a lot like a threat, candy boy. Consider it logged." More chest pumping, and Jax strides out. Brenda comes out and they stare. Kat is still turning down PT. She has accepted that this is the way she is. She wants out. Stephen is still asking about Kat, Kevin fills him in and picks up how upset Stephen is. Brenda says she needs to talk to him, and if there is any justice, this will be the last time. "Havenāt you heard, Brenda? There is no justice, and no peace." Good one, Sonny. Jax is at Mirandaās. They stare and smile. Jax says hello, and Miranda says, "I believe you mean goodbye". They stare and smile some more. Wow! Out of a possible five holy cows, this was a four holy cow kind of day! Maybe even four and a half. A banner day for a Thursday, I would say!
