Subject: GH: Update for Fri 01/10/97 Sent: 1/12/97 7:56 PM From: John R. Andrews , jandrews@uic.edu GH Update for 01/10/97 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Katherine mopes in bed at GH hoping that Stephan will visit. Scene 2 Sonny and Brenda come to see Mac, but he's out. She is talking to Jax on the phone agreeing to see him later but doesn't mention it. Mac arrives home, and Sonny tells him about the two men who came into the apartment. Sonny wants Mac to get the phone records theorizing it will help lead to the assailants. Scene 3 Everyone jabbers at Bobbie's and Stephan's dinner party. Stephan tells Tom he feels guilty about Katy's being shot on his island. Scene 4 Lucy tries to explain to Kevin that he's changed in subtle ways [ya, like he's dressing like an escapee from the 60's], and she feels isolated from him. Scene 5 Brenda returns home to Jax and tells him she was with Sonny. He responds by saying he was talking to Miranda and intends to see her later. They proceed to congratulate themselves for being so honest and mature. Scene 6 Mac says the phone records will be faxed in a few minutes. Miranda tells Sonny she's decided to stay in PC but getting a place of her own. Scene 7 Over dinner, Felicia remarks that she's a part-time PI; Nikolas suggests they hire her to find out who shot Katherine. Felicia responds that Katy is the one to reveal the truth. When Tom mentions that he might have a new drug to help her remember what happened, Alexis is visibly flustered and spills her drink. Scene 8 Sonny and Miranda spar a bit over her staying and their respective emotions toward Brenda and Jax. Mac comes in with the phone records. Scene 9 Brenda and Jax banter about how life used to be more fun. He assures her that it will be again. She points out that after he's divorced from Miranda he'll be free again. He suggests they get re-married in some exotic place. Sonny calls and tells her the phone records were erased [What a crock, unless he's just lying to her]. Scene 10 Kevin tells Lucy even though he loves her dearly, he can't marry her until he's worthy, and he has a lot more work left. As she starts to leave, he gives her an odd smile [which I presume was supposed to be suggestive but came off as merely silly]. Scene 11 Felicia and Bobbie chit-chat about Bobbie's life as Mrs. Cassidine. Scene 12 Miranda sends a suit-and-tied Mac off to visit Katherine then thinks back to Jax's own poetic vows of love. Scene 13 As Felicia and Tom walk away from the house, Felicia remarks she had a good time but didn't get any dirt on Stephan; however, Tom counters that they didn't exactly come away empty-handed. [What did he steal the towels?] Scene 14 Meanwhile, Bobbie bubbles about the party. After she leaves, Stephan and Alexis exchange words, and Alexis repeats her dire warning to stay away from Katherine because Tom is suspicious. Later, however, Stephan takes a single white rose and goes out. Scene 15 In bed, Felicia asks Tom if Stephan or Alexis shot Katy. He thinks Stephan did, and Alexis knows. While Tom's showering, his phone rings, and Felicia answers it, but no one is there [Luke?]. Scene 16 Kevin and Lucy sit by the fire, then she says he wanted to be alone so it's time she left. Suddenly, he blurts out that she should move in with him. Scene 17 Jax visits Miranda at Mac's. After some reminiscing about promises on the stars, she suggests they get down to divorce talk. Scene 18 Meanwhile, Brenda heads for Luke's Club where she tells Sonny, "I can't do this anymore." Scene 19 Mac brings Katherine an engagement ring and proposes. Scene 20 When a naked Tom returns to a naked Felicia, she tells him about the call. He looks concerned and covers up [pun intended]. Scene 21 Lucy in her inimitable style accuses Kevin of wanting to live together only because he's guilty about not wanting to marry her, and, in fact, doesn't really want to live together either. Scene 22 Miranda suggests they skip dinner out and settle the divorce over pizza. Jax eagerly agrees. [I think it's time for him and Miranda to have a quickie and claim "it was a mistake, and I'm sorry."] Scene 23 Brenda tells Sonny she's done playing detective, and the whole "game" is over. Scene 24 As Mac tries to convince Katy to marry him, Stephan lurks unseen outside the door. Despite Mac's eloquent pleas, she turns him down. Scene 25 Brenda, looking as sexy as she ever has, tells Sonny she's safer without him around, safer from his smile and his protecting her. She insists she loves Jax and wants to marry him again after his divorce. Secret Update Bonus Section: The real lyrics to the old song Louie Louie according to The Straight Dope by Cecil Adams: Berry...explains the song of a seafaring man, spoken to a sympathetic bartender named Louie. "Louie Louie, me gotta go. Louie Louie, me gotta go. A fine girl, she wait for me. Me catch the ship across the sea. I sailed the ship all alone. I never think I'll make it home. Louie Louie, me gotta go. Three nights and days we sailed the sea. Me think of girl constantly. On the ship, I dream she there. I smell the rose in her hair. Louie Louie, me gotta go. Me see Jamacan moon above. It won't be long me see me love. Me take her in my arms and then I tell her I never leave again. Louie Louie, me gotta go. (by Richard Berry.
