Subject: Sent: 1/13/97 12:13 PM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com The GH Update, Thursday January 9 IF SELF-PITY WERE PERFUME, SHE'D BE WEALTHY NOW KatyWhine is talking to Tony. He tells her she has to cooperate and do the Physical Therapy (after all, she can have Carly-with-all-the-experience!) but she would rather hope for a miracle. She tells him about having felt something the other day, and he says this could be good or nothing, but she must do the PT. She exercises her prerogative to have a nap instead. Outside the room, Lucy runs into Mac. She's brought a gift for Katherine. Mac, unknowing, tells her Katherine is still in Physical Therapy. Lucy can't wait, she's making a special dinner for Kevin, "if you count calling a gourmet take-out." Her present is a calligraphy promise not to take Deception till Katherine is back on her feet and ready to fight for it. Mac doesn't think this is enough to lift Katherine's spirits. Lucy tells Mac to keep trying, as she did with Kevin. Get in KatyWhine's face. She reminds Mac that she even proposed to Kevin. "You have to be persistent and you have to be stubborn ... do anything, just Do It." Katherine asks a nurse who the mysterious man in black is. Then she asks that the flowers be removed from her room. Mac drops by and Katherine feigns sleep till he leaves. Felicia drags Mac off for a walk before her dinner-date with Tom. Katherine cries. Mac peeks in, sees this, and backs out. Later, she's still crying (Go do the PT, girl! Your recovery isn't going to just drop in your lap, even if this IS a soap!) and goes for some tissue and drops everything. THE DEMONS COME OUT Gail apologizes to Kevin for being late, but he's pleased he's no longer top priority. He talks for a while about being so much better. She asks what caused the breakthrough and he says it was Laura's funeral. It's when he saw his true feelings about his mother. He wanted her dead. Gail asks what about his father? How does he feel about his father taking him away? Kevin explains that this was necessary, and Gail asks "So you're saying he's blameless?" Kevin breaks: "That's ENOUGH!" Then he apologizes. But he blames only his mother. He suggests he's so much better he doesn't have to see Gail so often, and she points out his sessions are court-mandated, "but nice try, Kevin." He's ready to leave and she assigns him to think about his father. At the Lighthouse, Kevin comes in to Lucy emptying little buckets. "Smells like Chinese gourmet." He starts to fiddle with the computer. Lucy asks how the session with Gail went, and Keving doesn't want to talk about it. He is deeply engrossed in the computer when she brings out the dinner and dims the lights. Suddenly he decides he's not hungry, and he'd also like to be alone tonight. She starts to be understanding. She whacks out the candles with a bread stick and starts to munch on it absentmindedly out the door, when she turns and says "No! You know what, Doc? I can't do this any more!" She can not pretend everything's OK any more. It may work for him, but it's not working for her that he'd rather spend time on Alexis' project than with her. "What can I do?" a fearful Kevin asks. "You could stop ignoring the huge herd of white elephants that are plonked down in the middle of this room!" "Herd of white elephants?" "Yeah. For starters, I proposed marriage to you not too long ago and you have not mentioned that, not one time, since that day." Kevin looks totally rudderless. THEY'RE SPOOKY AND THEY'RE SCARY [I missed the original Addams family posting, but so appropriate! Thank you, whoever! And today will be a special day for Adrian: shall we just say I was glad Bobbie widened her eyes, because if she'd inhaled instead, she'd have been unsuitable for daytime tv! I thought her "day dress", the little thing one runs about doing housework in, was going to be the evening wear, since it was, shall we say, plenty revealing.] Stefan asks Alexis what's happening with Dr. Collins. She's surprised he doesn't know the answer to that. "Meaning what?" he asks. "Considering all the time that you've been spending at the hospital hovering over Miss Bell." They argue again. Bobbie comes in: "SteFAWN?" She asks about the flowers for Katherine. She says "You really should tell me when you do these things. [who IS this woman? This paragon of virtue who always told her spouse everything?] Why would you keep that a secret anyway?" Alexis excuses herself. Bobbie goes into oh-silly-little-me mode (been watching too much 50s TV, I think!) about interrupting him when he's in conference with Alexis. She tells him Katherine's shooting wasn't his fault. Then she looks sad. He asks why and she widens her eyes [Adrian ***SPOILER***: she remains in her dress]. She's worried that Luke shot Katherine. If so, it was an accident. Stefan apologizes about the flowers: "I guess I'm fairly new at this sharing lives business. I'll have to try harder." He tells her he invited Tom and Felicia for dinner, and she panics. He reminds her about Mrs. Lansbury, and Bobbie gets downright dizzy with power. They play a little game about "if I say this, what will I get?" Then they kiss, and Alexis and Nik come in. Bobbie dances off with Nik to see Mrs. Lansbury. Alexis comments: "She seems to be a happy bride." Stefan replies "Well, that WAS the Plan, wasn't it?" [Aha! There IS a Plan! Do the writers know?] They argue about Katherine again. He says it will all fall into place, and that he's right on schedule. (He says "shedule" like someone from Britain, but never mind.) Alexis says the dinner party is inspired. He says he hasn't forgotten his priorities. "What a relief," Alexis comments. Bobbie is giddy with power. She tells Nik it's so GOOD to be happy. Nik says he's thinking of going back to Greece, and she begs him to stay. Back in the "living" room, she bubbles. She used to wish someday she could live like this. She wanted a man to come sweep her off her feet. Stefan must be Prince Charming. She goes up to change. Stefan already has, and is now in a black suit identical to every other black suit he has. He starts to call the hospital and Alexis stops him, and they argue AGAIN. [OK, Powers That Be, we get it. Stefan shouldn't make his interest in Katherine so apparent or People Will Suspect.] Felicia and Tom approach. Felicia theorizes that Stefan probably had the fog flown in for effect. She's suspicious. She asks Tom where he was, and he flashes back to talking to Luke about Leslie, who is still no better. Tom is convinced the real Leslie is in there somewhere. We learn Laura hasn't left her side. Luke isn't too happy to hear about "Mrs. Cassadine." He looks uncomfortable. He won't return to Port Charles till he's ready. Tom tells Felicia he was with a patient, a difficult case. She figures this is the perfect place to lighten up. Stefan opens the door. "Welcome to Wyndemere." He says that Barbara misses her Brownstone friends. Felicia whispers to Tom that there are no mirrors. Bobbie has changed and is now in a slinky black something. She widens her eyes when Stefan says he likes seeing her in it. Mrs. Lansbury brings hors-d'ouevres. Lucas pops in through a secret panel. Nik takes him off to bed, with Tom looking after them. Felicia talks to Bobbie about Lucas adjusting. Mrs. Lansbury removes the tray before Tom can have a snack. Spooky music plays. [This should be there first clue!] Alexis whispers to Stefan that Katherine's condition hasn't changed. Felicia and Bobbie start looking for the florist's card, and Felicia suddenly screams. Tom looks over. SUDDENLY SIDAR In a scene that has no logical reason to be here, Jax is calling Mirander to see her to do the divorce face to face, when Brenda and Sonny appear at the door looking for Mac. Yawn.
