FLOODED UPDATE, THURSDAY JANUARY 2
(actually, I apparently didn't miss much, the local affiliate had a 5-minute
break on the half-hour. It was pretty easy to figure out what I missed. I
want to thank Ch. 10 both for that and for playing GH Saturday morning when
they had flood coverage all day Friday. (I missed it, but that's because I
was behind on my tapes!))

1. TWO RESPECTED FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES
Bobbie wanders into the hospital and widens her eyes: "Am I the only one
who misses the holiday decorations already?" Then, spotting her step-
nephew, she gets all cutesy:"Nikolas. What's with that face? Have you
forgotten your resolution?" So Stefan wants to know what resolution.
He says "Last night was a revelation." Bobbie says he's an amazing
lover, and RATSA Amy grinds her teeth so loudly I can hear her here!
Bobbie still won't tell him her resolution. "You think sex is a weapon."
(Who *is* this woman, and where is the Real Bobbie?) Stefan says it's
fair if it works. He suggests she enjoy the islind... she could "build
snow castles with Lucas and Nikolas; sit around and eat baklava all day."
[This settles it. Obviously KatyBell *is* the right woman for him!]

Bobbie, completely delusional, counts her blessings: Stefan, Nikolas,
Lucas, her friends. She even thinks about the good things about her
relationship with Tony. "I never even think of his relationship with
Carly any more." [Uh-HUH. Riiiiight.] She and Tony are "two respected
friends and colleagues who just happen to share a child." [I understand
it takes 5 years for divorced folk to get to this point, but Our Bobbie
has managed it in what, 5 weeks?]

Meanwhile, her respected friend and colleague is having the same old,
same old, with Carly. He apologizes for New Year's Eve. And now he has
to leave because he's supposed to be with Lucas. Carly tries to be nice
about it, but Tony tells her not to be afraid to say what she thinks.
She "just wish[es] I knew where I fit in-- I mean, it's not really right
at the Brownstone because that is for you and Lucas and it's definitely
not right at the hospital because that's Bobbie's turf, so you and I get
this two-bedroom apartment that you drop in and out of." He reiterates
that he loves her, but there are ways he has to do things. "Right, like
the way that you still work for Bobbie?" Back to the same old, same old.

In what has to be one of the Stupidest Plot Devices of the Year (this *is*
January 2, though, they have time!) Lucas calls Bobbie, who panics that
he's alone (even though we're told Maxie and Georgie and one assumes
Felicia are there) and dashes off. Lucas is playing Twister by himself,
and Tony appears from the kitchen, having been preparing pancakes for lunch.
[Fearless Updater rant: with Tommy and the spinach, it's cute, though
they were taking him in the direction of actually having a real
personality and a plot of his own (and I think the actor could have
handled it.) With Lucas and the pancakes, it's just an attempt to give
him some distinguishing features. Diabetic syrup and all.] Lucas makes
them play Twister so that they are in a compromising position when Carly
comes in with Tony's wallet. She claims he left it in his jacket
pocket. Bobbie widens her eyes. For someone who never thinks about the
relationship, Bobbie seems to be having a little problem. She asks
"Exactly how much time DOES Lucas spend with Carly?" and Tony says "A
whole lot less than he does with Stefan Cassadine." Bobbie widens her eyes.

THE NEVERENDING SIDAR [or, BRENDA BUYS A CLUE]
Brender and Jax are at the Grille for breakfast. She has something on
her mind[!] It's Sonny [retract the !] Jax, conveniently forgetting his
bad behavior off the horse, is hostile to mention of Sonny. Brenda has
found out about Marilyn Cooper. She had "a boyfriend who's taking her
down a really bad road." Jax: "Sounds like a familiar story. I don't
like it." She points out the Miranda trip. Ned comes in and breaks in
on the conversation, asking Jax: "Do you enjoy surfing the Internet?"
Brenda: "Ned, we were involved in a really private conversation." Ned,
dimpling: "Oh. Well, privacy is relative. Look at mine." he waves to AJ
and Keesha, who are sitting with Edward, who is welcoming an embarrassed
Keesha into the family. (Seems to me that only a couple of years ago he
had a rather more racist view of the possibility.) Ned returns to the
conversation at hand: "Jax. Internet." Jax admits to being an Internet
junkie. Ned threatens a Web page on the inner dealings of J&J Jacks
corporation. Jax is unmoved until Ned brings up Miranda. Brenda can't
believe he's doing it to her again. "Once again you have used our
friendship to try to manipulate and hurt someone I love." [But I bet she
loses the clue and remains friends with the back-stabber!] Jax agrees to
get out of ELQ and off the board. During my flood update, he tells
Brenda he had to.

Meanwhile, Sonny sees Miranda outside of LUKE'S. She is there for
information about Stefan.

IS IT A WHINY PARANOID OR A PARANOID WHINY?
Katherine is lying in bed. She's thinking about Stefan. Mac comes in.
He has cards from "Brenda, Jax, the Quartermaines, your secretary, and a
bunch from Lucy." Katherine, judging from her own standards, is convinced
Lucy will move in on Deception. In fact, does she have an alibi the
night of the shooting? Bobbie, who's been playing nurse in this scene,
widens her eyes and tells Katherine she'd put even money on her in any
fight against Lucy.

Katherine gripes about the book Lucy gave her. Mac doesn't see the
problem. "Men are so blinded by her age-inappropriate outfits and her
cutesy-pie teensy-weensy talk." Katherine is certain Lucy is closing in
on Deception. Mac leaves, and Nik comes in. Speaking of
age-inappropriate, Katherine fluffs her hair and flirts with him. Then
she pretends to sleep, so he leaves and Miranda comes in. Miranda
suggests she throw the book, and when Katherine does, she nearly hits a
nurse. They giggle inanely, and Miranda leaves. Stefan watches through
the window, and Katherine sees him lurking. Violins play. [Blech.]

Jax comes to see Mirander. She doesn't want to talk now. Mac comes in
with flowers and balloons, and Jax wants to talk to him about Mirander.

KEVIN BREAKS PROBATION
Alexis tells Stefan to back off from Katherine. But Stefan is concerned
that he might have made it so Katherine will never walk again. Alexis:
"The tell her or buy her a wheelchair." Stefan changes the subject to
Kevin, and Alexis takes him to the elevator to fill him in on the Dorman
situation, that Kevin is not a very good mole.

At LUKE'S, Lucy is bossing Mike around to arrange flowers. She gives
Miranda a rose: "So you're Jax's other wife, the one who ruined Brenda's
wedding." Then she tries to cover it up, as only Lucy can, making it worse.
She says to Kevin, who is at the miracle laptop, "I was just a teeny
weeny bit hostile to Jax's other wife just now." She loves to watch
Kevin freelance, but he tells her "watch me freelance from the other side
of the table."

Later, Lucy is looking for Kevin, who was in Luke's office printing her
up a card. They kiss, and then Alexis comes in to fill him in on
Dorman. Mac comes in to beg Lucy to leave Katherine alone, and Sonny
talks to Mac about Marilyn Cooper. Kevin, meanwhile, using the miracle
laptop, has hacked into Dorman's medical records. Lucy asks "isn't that
illegal?" (Yep, and for a stalker? You betcha!) Boy, that Program
Manager is some software! Mac, who is sticking his face in everywhere,
sees Brenda who has come to see Sonny. Violins play.
