Subject: Sent: 1/6/97 4:04 PM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com THAT SLIME DORMAN Lucy is wearing a yellow skating sweater Kevin gave her, and he compliments her on it, to her surprise, as Old Kevin didn't like yellow. She's all eager to go skating, but he has an appointment before the class-action-suit meeting at the hospital. The doorbell rings. It's Alexis. At the Quartermaine's, Monica is looking at the origami bird, which Jason's fingers apparently fixed while he was talking to Lila. She's sad: Jason must have been here. Alan hugs her and heads off to the hospital. Emily is less-than-delighted with her gift from Lila, something a Proper Young Lady would wear. Monica offers to help Emily return it. She sees the present Emily had gotten for Lucky, which Emily was also going to return. At this point, Alexis and Kevin come in. Emily leaves, but lingers to eavesdrop on the conversation, which is Kevin questioning Monica about personal details of her relationship with Dorman. Dorman, Monica asserts, was the first rat to desert General Hospital when it got into trouble. She admits that Pierce loved control. Eventually the questioning gets too uncomfortable for Monica, and she breaks it off. Kevin suggests to Alexis that they look into Dorman's past and see if there's a history of controlling relationships there. At the hospital, Dorman prescribes pills for Alan. "I'd say give Monica my best, but that's already been done." Lucy comes up as Alan is staring after Pierce, and starts to babble "I want your opinion about somebody." Alan, still in a daze: "That's one of the most sick, twisted human beings that's ever been put on this earth... I'm sorry, Lucy, what is it you want to know?" "I think you just told me," Lucy says. Later, Lucy suggests that maybe Kevin shouldn't poke around in that nasty Dorman's mind, and they go off to the meeting about the class-action suit. Dorman hands Alan the pills. "Good luck with the class action suit, but be sure to leave some money for me." Monica, now at the hospital, gets annoyed and would like to strangle Dorman. Alan says "The line forms here." Monica worries about Emily, and well she should. Emily is with Matt, and gives him the present she'd gotten for Lucky. He may be in the mood to open it later. He offers her a toke of his "fatboy." She doesn't take drugs: "I don't think that's the sort of thing a Proper Young Lady [sarcastic: mimicking Monica mimicking Lila] would do." "You'd be surprised," Matt says. Emily remembers the earful she got earlier while eavesdropping on the "Proper Lady", and says "No I wouldn't." She tries it and coughs and sputters. Matt claims it gets easier, and all your troubles disappear. After the meeting Kevin goes up to Dorman and asks for an opinion. KATHERINE'S OPERATION Tony is at the apartment. He's on the phone about the operation and asks to have Bobbie on the team. Carly questions this. She didn't know Luke had left town. Tony leaves for the hospital and Carly broods for a while, and leaves. Bobbie is at Windemere, cold. She sees Stefan outside, brooding. "SteFAWN, what are you doing?" She reminds him aobut the meeting on the class-action suit. He is vague. Where is Nikolas? Bobbie leaves to get ready to go to the hospital, and Stefan gets onto the batphone to check on Katherine. Next he calls Zurich and asks for Anna Seaburg. Stefan and Bobbie go to the hospital, where Stefan talks to Nikolas. Alan wants to talk to Stefan about the meeting and Nikolas leaves, Stefan following. Alan and Bobbie agree it's never easy, and he tells her about Katherine's operation, and that Tony wants her on the team. Bobbie lights up at this news (she likes Tony a lot more now that he's out of reach. Odd how she put him down when she was the one straying!) Later she flirts with Tony, talking about the operation. She "would be sad if I thought I'd lost your respect." [Fearless Updater in serious danger of losing lunch on this one.] Stefan finally catches Nikolas and they argue. Bobbie mealy-mouths up: "Nikolas? Your uncle and I are concerned about you, that's all." Bobbie tells them that Tony will operate. Bobbie tells Tony about Nikolas. Carly comes up, and tells them that she got her old job back. Tony hugs her, and Bobbie says, poisonously, "Congratulations" and leaves. Carly gives her a snide little wave. Just then, Stefan comes up and Bobbie tells him about Tony. "You've been singing the praises of your ex-husband all day." [Like HE has a leg to stand on, first brooding about Laura, now about Katherine.] She says, "Have I?" and proceeds to sing Tony's praises some more. Alexis comes up to Stefan and needs guidelines for the class-action suit. He's snippy. He has other priorities now. He's back on the batphone for Anna Seaburg. Katherine is dreaming about the shooting, aand wakes up to see Nik. Mac comes in while Katherine is telling Nik about her dream, and Mac orders Nik to leave. Katherine and Mac discuss Nik. Miranda comes in and praises Mac for the flowers, but they aren't from him. Tony appears to tell her the choices, operate now, which is riskier, or later, which might mean paralysis. Mac wants to make her decision for her, but Katherine wants the operation now. Mac tells her "to me, the sexiest thing about you is the way your mind works." [Fearless Updater couldn't believe her ears!] Lucy comes in for a mini-visit. "Kathy, I just wanted to stop by and offer my deepest sympathy." "Thank you, but I'm not dead yet." "No,no, of course you're not, Kathy, I mean you have that old fighting spirit -- you're not going to let something like this get you down. (oops, she thinks...) What I mean is that I know you'll just bounce out of that bed and land on both feet (oops again)" Lucy gives Katherine a book: "It's a book. It's 'Stand and Be Counted' by this wonderful woman author who...um.. I keep standing here and putting my foot (oops#4) in it, don't I? This isn't going really, very well, is it? Mac! You know Mac is completely devoted to you so I know that no matter what happens, he's going to be there right beside you, you do believe that, don't you?" Miranda comes in and rescues Katherine. "I've really gotta run (oops!). Leave. Now. Bye. I'm rooting for you." Tony comes in, and Katherine has made her decision, but Stefan pulls him aside: "I'm taking you off the case." Bobbie confronts Carly.
