     Update for 11/12/96, Tuesday

     Main characters on today's show:
          Monica & Alan
          Keesha & Justus
          Mac & Katherine & Miranda
          Bobbie & Stefan
          Tony & Carly

Also appearing: Emily, Dorman, Lila, AJ

We begin with the Q's feasting over a mammoth breakfast in the
study. Monica fades out, listening to Dorman's voice-over threatening
persecution. She and Alan exit to the terrace. Alan wants to discuss
     the lawsuit.
Carly is pacing at the cabin, waiting for Tony. Tony walks in.
Bobbie and Stefan are in bed. Stefan nuzzles over to Bobbie, who
stops him, saying this has been a terrible mistake.
Catherine, all curly-haired and silky, sneaks into Mac's house in
her bathrobe. She bares down to some satiny lingerie and sidles into
bed with...Miranda. Both women scream. Miranda (in Mac's p.j.'s) is
vague, saying she knows Mac form "before." Mac rushes into the room,
so eager to serve Miranda breakfast in bed on a tray that he doesn't
notice smashing Katherine into the nook behind the bedroom door, where
she'd been standing. humorous tune plays--"doo ba de doo..."

     [opening credits play]

Back on the terrace, Alan says that Dorman's suit is only the tip
of the iceberg. Alan will talk to Dorman and promises that, no matter
what, Dorman will not be allowed back on GH's staff.
AJ resurfaces from wherever he's been to have breakfast. Emily,
bearing the weight of the world, breezes by Keesha on her way to
school. Keesha has just returned from the funeral of the twelve
year-old boy, Lonnie Randolph, who died of a drug overdose. Keesha,
overwhelmed by guilt, asks Edward for help. Edward says he's already
poured plenty of cash into the Charles St. Foundation to help the
neighborhood. AJ and Keesha agree to pressure the City Council to
make drugs a major public awareness issue. Justus wants to keep his
name out of the limelight, and is attached by Keesha when he says she
needs more than an ideology; she needs a plan.
Monica enters and wants to talk to the family: Justus, AJ,
     Keesha, and Edward.
Bobbie is wandering around in her bathrobe, imagining what Luke
will say. Stefan rises from bed, shirtless and fully abdominized, and
says he's sorry if he misread Bobbie's signals. Bobbie realizes
jumping into bed to dull the pain is an established pattern for her.
Stefan says he cares about her. Bobbie wants their relationship to be
     defined.
Tony is fidgeting on the couch. Carly says things have turned
out for the best. Tony still has Lucas, so they (Tony and Carly) can
get married, and Lucas will have a new family. Tony says families are
     not interchangeable.
Mac makes the introductions and serves Miranda breakfast.
Miranda flatters Katherine. Mac, after all these years, still
remembers Miranda's favorite breakfast, which leads to some "appetite"
innuendo. John Jacks is stable at GH. Miranda says re Mac: "How
could I ever forget my first husband?" Katherine is trying to stay
calm but is simmering all the while.
Lila appears for breakfast, too, and Monica tells all about the
affair and the lawsuit. Dorman meets Alan at the infamous
second-floor nurse's station couch. Alan wants to know how much cash
it'll take for Dorman to drop the suit. Dorman smirks.

[Intermission and the ambulance whizzes by]

Alan says he'll make a private settlement. Dorman wants this
case in the paper and in court. He has his *own* cash, and sees this
as a point of honor to protect his professional integrity. Alan grabs
Dorman by the collar when Dorman asks how many of Monica's other young
lovers Alan has paid off. Dorman wants to be rehired, and promoted,
     and see Monica punished.
Before the family, Monica doles out the gory details. Edward
says she'll have the family's support, even though she and Alan should
both know better by now. Lila is sympathetic and cuts off Edward's
ranting by making him go with her to confront Cook, who is on a
     rampage today.
Justus says he'll look at the suit. Monica says GH Legal will
handle it. AJ supports Monica, saying he doesn't think less of her
and blames Alan. Monica says Alan was there for her. Monica plans to
tell Emily after school. AJ volunteers to get Emily now. Monica
     agrees.
Again on the terrace, Keesha resumes her attack on Justus. She
says he's hiding behind his conference table and his corporate title,
and wants him to quit ELQ because he's become unrecognizable. Keesha
     pontificates some more, then leaves.
Mac and Miranda (all cozy on Mac's bed) tell how Miranda had
once, in Melbourne, hired Mac, the jack-of-all-trades, for protection.
They pretended to marry, so he's her "first husband." Mac says he
has some things to tell Miranda later.
Keesha appears at Mac's house, and says Justus turned her down in
the Keesha Crusade. Mac says the City Council can't do much anyway.
What they need is manpower on the streets.
Katherine offers a fancy dress to Miranda. Katherine says
they're the same size (?) Miranda refuses, because she's already all
dressed up in Mac's jeans and shirt that she found in his closet.
Bobbie and Stefan emerge from the second floor elevator at GH.
Bobbie is all rosy in a pink suit. Bobbie: "Thanks for the ride."
Stefan: "My pleasure." Stefan says she's in charge of their
relationship, and will give her all the time she needs.
Alan asks if Bobbie is o.k. Bobbie says she and Tony are
     divorced.
Carly grants that Tony may still have feelings for Bobbie, but
goes on and on about how special *they* (Tony and Carly) are. Tony
can't deal with this now, either. He embraces her, says he'll be back,
and goes to GH. Carly plots something or experiences
indigestion--either way, a strange look crosses her face. She listens
to the "Carly" song on tape again.
Miranda, descending the stairs at Mac's house, overhears that
he's police commissioner. She looks surprised.
Monica cancels her six-month cancer checkup, then calls Dorman's
beeper and asks to meet him.
Alan told Bobbie about Monica's lawsuit. Bobbie says she had no
idea about Monica and Dorman. Bobbie also says she made the only
choice re Tony. Tony walks in. Stefan watches, unseen.
