                        General Hospital
                       November 11, 1996

        Sonny comes over to see Brenda.  When is she going to get out of
that dress anyway?  At the hospital, Jax asks Miranda how she could let him
believe she was dead.  Miranda says she wants to cry and that she hasn't
cried in front of anyone for 6 years.
        Luke and LesleyLu play in the living room with the egg.  She is
soooo adorable.  Tony comes over and tells Luke that Bobbie went to the
Dominican Republic to get a divorce.  Bobbie, in the DR, returns to her
room and finds it full of floral arrangements.  Someone's in the room--it's
Stephan!!  Bobbie asks what he's doing there.  He says he's following her
because he missed her.  She invites him in.  Bobbie thanks him for the
flowers and asks why he's there.  Stephan says he thought she could use a
friend.  Back at the Spencer house,  Luke and Tony talk about how the kids
get caught in the middle of their parents' fights.  Tony says it's not
right that it takes two people to start a marriage and Bobbie could end it
by herself.  Luke just looks at him, and he acknowledges his part in it.
        At the docks, a friend offers Emily some marijuana and asks if she
wants to get high.  She says she doesn't want to because drugs can give you
brain damage and says her brother was brain damaged from a car accident.
The guy doesn't quite get the point and leaves.  Lucky comes along and sees
Emily.  She asks if he wants to get something to eat but he's too caught up
with Timoria.  Emily looks lost and disappointed.
        Miranda tells Jax she didn't want to hurt him.  Jax says he would
have wanted to be there with her through her suffering.  She says he would
have felt pity and horror and that she had to do it alone.  Miranda says
she could use some fresh air and Jax offers to take her to the docks.
Brenda reflects on how she used to excuse Sonny's behavior and says she now
thinks he really is a cruel person.  Sonny says it was Jax who was at
fault; and that Jax is a dangerous man whose wife was blown up and left for
dead.  Brenda says Sonny didn't have to go to Australia to try to destroy
her happiness and that his wife is dead because of his actions.  Sonny says
the difference between him and Jax is that he doesn't pretend to be a nice,
upstanding person who makes promises to protect someone which he can't
keep.  He says Jax lives in the same dangerous world he does and Brenda is
living in that dangerous world as well.  Brenda says Sonny has lost his
soul and reads him the wedding vows Jax wrote her.  Sonny says words don't
mean anything next to the truth about Miranda.  Brenda says the promises
they have made to each other mean something and that no one will come
between her and Jax, not Sonny and not Miranda.
        At the docks, Jax asks Miranda why she came.  She says she had to
tell him herself that she was still alive.  When Sonny came to see her, she
says she knew that he was there about Jax.  Miranda says she wanted to live
with her fantasies of her and Jax, not to be tainted by the horror of her
accident.  She say she remembered his laughing eyes and didn't want to see
them filled with pity..  He says he doesn't pity her and that if he didn't
know she once had another face, he would think she was perfect and that she
was as she was created.  She says she went through many surgeries to look
that way and what got her through was thinking of him living on.
        Bobbie thanks Stephan for the flowers and jokes about how Stephan
looks relaxed without his coat.  They drink champagne and Bobbie asks what
it's like to always have the best of everything.  Stephan says he has
gaping holes in his life.  Bobbie says she's been more focused on herself
and that she hasn't been much of a friend.  Stephan says she was good to
Nickolas when he needed someone and he is grateful.  Bobbie says she
admires his devotion to Nickolas.  She says its going to be hard explaining
to Lucas about her divorce.  Stephan asks if she's going through with it
and she says she already has.  "Barbara Jean Spencer Brock Meyer Jones is
officially divorced.  Again."
        Bobbie drinks some more wine and says it's amazing how quickly it
was over.  She reflects on her past marriages and says she thought Tony was
forever but that he loves Carly now.  Stephan says it's strange that a man
would fall in love with his mistress rather than just support them.  Bobbie
asks if his wife minded.  He says he was never married because he was
reluctant to inflict his mother on anyone.  He says she's "a viper from
hell", but she's dying.  They move over to the bed and sit on it.  Bobbie
asks if he's had any mistresses, and he says he's had a few but only one at
a time and none at the moment.  She asks if he's lonely and he says he
isn't.  She says she is.  He says that's a shame.  They move towards each
other and kiss.
        Sonny tries to convince Brenda that Jax put Miranda away because he
was ashamed of her.  Brenda says he doesn't understand why Sonny wants her
to doubt Jax and that Jax didn't know she was still alive.  Sonny asks why
he never told her.  Brenda says he attempted but never got a chance.  Sonny
is incredulous.  Brenda says she is ashamed that she ever let herself love
him.  Sonny says "I never married you knowing I was married to someone
else.  In the game of lies that wins hands down.  And you lose again."
        Jax asks how Miranda could say that things worked out.  She says
she is happy that he and Brenda are together and he loves her.  He says it
took him years to mourn her and to move on.   She says her dad sent
pictures and Jerry visited her.  Jax is upset that Jerry knew she was
alive.  She says that he was strong and brave and helped her a  lot. and
that he came to her and begged her to let him tell Jax she was alive.  Jax
say it was after a time when they were rock climbing in the Grand Tetons
and he almost fell off.  He says he wanted to let go so he could see her
again.  Miranda says he hung on and went on with his  life.  He says now it
feels like the bottom has dropped out of the world.  She agrees with that.
She says she had a nice life and house which was disrupted when Sonny came
and she knew that Sonny was going hurt him by telling him she was alive.
Jax says Sonny wants others to be miserable like him.  Miranda says he
didn't threaten her but she knew he'd tell him in a cold way.  Jax says
Sonny knows how to maximize damage.  Jax says in some small way at least he
knows she's alive.  They joke about how she quotes Shakespeare and that
Sonny didn't recognize it.  They make their way back to the hospital..
        Tony says he's going home to spend some time with Lucas.  Luke says
he's sorry about the divorce.  Tony tells Luke to be careful of Laura and
not to let things go so far he can't get it back.  Bobbie breaks off the
kiss and says she didn't mean to do that.  Stephan says she did and Bobbie
says he's right and that he's a good kisser.  She asks if he likes her and
he says "I'm here, aren't I?"  They kiss again and start taking off each
other's clothes.  Man, does he have a good body!!  Stephan moves in for the
kill.
        Brenda says she's not losing anymore and that the last time she
lost was when he left her standing in the rain.  Jax came and rescued her
and made everything better.  She says she didn't end up with a consolation
prize; she got everything she wanted.  Sonny says she had a right to know
about Miranda.  Brenda says, just like I had a right to know about you and
the mob.  Sonny says she's right and that Jax is no better than he is.
Brenda asks Sonny to leave and says she'll never forgive him for this.
        Mac says Miranda needs to go and get some sleep.  When she doesn't
know what day it is or when she slept last, Jax agrees with her and says
for her to go with Mac.  She leaves with him and looks back to see how he
is.
        Brenda has finally changed into a comfy sweater.  She is anxiously
looking for her pills and downs a few.  Jax calls and says his father is
stable but he's going to stay at the hospital for another couple of hours.
Jax is overwhelmed with emotion.  She offers to come to the hospital and he
says for her to stay there.  She says she loves him.  He says he loves her
too and for her to believe that.   Amid the song "Sorry seems to be the
hardest word,"  Brenda wanders around the apartment, looking at the wedding
announcement and the model ship.  Sonny wanders around the docks .  Luke
toys with the egg and looks intensely at it.  Bobbie lies trustingly in
Stephan's arms as he strokes her back,  wearing his Cassadine medallion.
