Date: Sun, 29 Sep 1996 00:53:27 CDT From: John R. Andrews U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 09/27/96 GH Update for 09/27/96 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Kevin's hearing comes to order. When the judge asks how Kevin will plead, the scene ends in a long dramatic pause while everyone waits for his answer. Scene 2 At home, Ned paces around then calls someone saying he's signing the three year contract, but he says he considers it a mere piece of paper he can throw out. Sonny appears at the door. Scene 3 Brenda reviews her upcoming tour itinerary. Scene 4 The judge asks Kevin again for his plea. He unexpectedly pleads not guilty [ya, unexpected to everyone but the audience]. Lucy is ecstatic, but Felicia is stunned. The judge gavels everyone silent, and Kevin's attorney moves that he be released without bail, but ADA Dara demands he be denied bail. Scene 5 Jax and Brenda discuss their upcoming separation. She is still reeling over the news of Ned's and Brenda's split. He reassures her and says he won't go more than three days without seeing her. Scene 6 Sonny gives Ned he's full support. Ned says if Sonny really is serious he resign his seat on the ELQ board. Ned offers to swap Sonny's stock for a small ELQ subsidiary, a paper mill. Sonny is reluctant but agrees to look over the company specs. Ned also suggests Sonny miss the board meeting that night and just give him Sonny's proxy. Scene 7 The prosecutor tells the judge about Kevin's phone call that morning saying he was going to plead guilty. After some attorney bickering, the judge calls a sidebar during which time Katy tells Mac she feels sorry for Lucy and is going to sit by her and give support. In the sidebar, the judge sides with Kevin's lawyer but wants to hear about the morning's incident. Felicia takes the stand. Scene 8 Sonny agrees to give Ned his proxy for that night only but wants to discuss the stock deal with Jason. Scene 9 Tracy shows up at Jax's to discuss their next move. He says he's going to the board meeting, but she's on her own. Scene 10 Felicia testifies about the phone call and other things that seem irrelevant to the bail question. Kevin's lawyer calls Tom Hardy. Tom testifies the Dr. Collins is a gifted psychiatrist and has helped numerous people. Under intense questioning, Tom is forced to say he wouldn't consider Kevin dangerous at this time. [Oops, bad answer Tom-boy, the honey-pot will be closed now.] Scene 11 Brenda visits Ned. Sonny is still unaware that Lois has left so Brenda fills him in about the breakup. Sonny is incredulous [no more so than I over this lame plot]. Brenda defends Jax when Sonny mean-mouths him and Tracy. Sonny tells her living in fantasyland must be nice. Scene 12 Jax tells Tracy she let it get personal with her jealousy of Lois. Now, Ned is back and motivated. This round is lost, he tells her, but he's going on to the next one without her. Scene 13 Doing some damage control, the ADA gets a relieved Tom to say he never treated Kevin so he really doesn't know what he might do. After which, Felicia shoots him a you-might-yet-get-lucky-again look. Scene 14 At the Q's, Ned and Edward briefly discuss the board meeting. Ned says he's got Sonny ready to leave. Scene 15 At Luke's, Sonny and Mike talk about Jax, Brenda, and Lois. Sonny is PO'd that Ned wants him off the board while it's Jax that is destroying the company. Scene 16 Justus is dubious that Sonny is going to leave. Scene 17 Jax and Brenda goo-goo each other before Jax heads to the board meeting. Scene 18 The judge denies bail for Kevin and sternly warns him not to call Felicia from jail again without getting MCI's Friends and Stalkers discount. Afterwards, Kevin's lawyer puts in a status call to Stephan Cassidine. He apparantly contacted her about the case originally.
