GH Update for Tuesday, September 17th, 1996

Stefan and Laura await news on Nikolas. Stefan is restless, demanding explanations, pacing back and forth while Laura tries to reassure him that this is a good hospital and that Bobbie wouldn't keep anything from them.

Bobbie and Tony come out and tell Stefan and Laura that first off, Nikolas did not break his neck like his father, that he is not in a coma but that there might be some physical complications. Like paralysis. Stefan flips out and Laura calms him. He tells her in his own way how grateful he is that she left Nikolas to him, and that Nikolas has been the greatest joy of his life. Hearing those words and seeing the tears in Stefan's eyes, she walks over to him and places her hands in his supportively.

She takes them away just in time for Luke to walk in. (Thank God) Lucky was so afraid Laura would stop loving him if Nikolas was dead that he wouldn't stop until Luke brought him to the hospital. Lucky crashes into his mother's arms and Luke and Lucky both instantly ask how Nikolas is. Laura tells them as Stefan watches with an evil eye in the background as Lucky and Luke hold Laura in their arms and promise her that her son will be fine.

Sonny comes in and Luke tells Sonny to watch Laura and make sure everything's okay. Sonny is more than willing to do that for Laura. Laura sees them and assumes Sonny hates her for her secret.

Tony tells Sonny to get lost and that this is a hospital, not a place for mobsters. He ignores it and talks to Laura about how she should love her son and that everything's okay. What a prince. Stefan goes somewhere, maybe to take a short walk, I don't know, and Laura's alone in the hallway.

Bobbie comes up to her and tells her to go see her son. Laura feels so guilty she doesn't want to see Nikolas but Bobbie pushes her in and says, "Get in there and do what you need to do." Giving Laura the strength she needed, she goes in and looks at her sleeping son, she talks to him with love as her tears fall on his face. When he wakes up, she is over him with a huge smile, telling him he's fine and not to worry. He tries to reach to touch her as she caresses his face. He asks her if he's okay and she assures him that he is as she runs her fingers through his hair. After knowing that, he falls back asleep and Laura yells for Tony and Bobbie to come in.

Stefan runs back in after seeing the commotion and Laura tells him he moved his head, his hand, spoke to her and that he's okay. Stefan jumps into Laura's arms for an embrace and they hold each other, just in time for Sonny to come around the corner and witness. Laura removes herself quickly from his arms, and Stefan seems to understand that in public they shouldn't have done that and goes to look at his nephew.

Lucky and Luke went home and waited for her, Lucky is grateful that he didn't kill Nikolas and still worries about his mother.

Laura tells Stefan she's going to go home now but if ANYTHING happens to please call her and she'll be back in a minute. He agrees and watches her leave with love in his eyes. Bobbie catches Stefan watching Laura, and is amazed but chooses to think nothing of it.

Laura goes outside to see Sonny waiting for her. She assumes he's thinks she awful and tells him but he tells her that's her son in there, and that what was important was that when he woke up, he KNEW she was there. Sonny tells her it's important to know your kids, because kids are precious. That was such a huge relief for her and she smiles, exhausted. She asks him to take her home and they leave.
