Date: Mon, 26 Aug 1996 16:38:52 CDT From: John R. Andrews U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 08/23/96 The General Hospital Update for Friday, August 23, 1996 Written By: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) In modified Johnny-style ... In the Q library, Lila and Tracy are discussing Baby Dillon's artistic talents. Lila tells her how much she has missed her and how happy she is that Tracy and the baby are home. Sonny is announced and says he is there for the emergency ELQ board meeting. Tracy says she is the one who called him and didn't think he'd come to see her if there wasn't a good reason, so she told him there was an emergency meeting. Lila scoots off after politely greeting "Mr. Corinthos". At the courthouse, Mac is waiting for a court order to trace/tap the phones at GH; possibly this will help find the stalker. He's on the horn to Garcia and is worried about Robin, who still hasn't called him. In the park, Bobbie creeps up on Laura who is sitting on a bench thinking about her recent run-in with Stefan. Bobbie talks about how her life seems to be spinning out of control [and may this updater add that Bobbie is back to her irritating old self: bad makeup, obvious dye-job on her messy and ho-like hairdo, whiny baby-talking voice, doing that pop-eye thing again - gack!]. She tells Laura that Alan is meeting with Stefan to see if the Cassadines bankroll GH to keep it operating. In Alan's office at GH, Luke is railing at Alan about going to the Cassadines for help. [this updater simply MUST comment on Luke's hair. It was ugly when it was longer, it's even uglier now that it's shorter except it gives him a comical, girlish look...like the hairdo Sandra Dee had in those old Gidget movies. Tony Geary, if you're reading this, why not just shave the damned hair off?]. Stefan arrives and sneers at Luke's histrionics behind his back. Alan kicks Gidget out and gets down to business with Stefan. Stef demands to see the accounting files to ascertain just how deep into the doo-doo GH's finances are. Reluctantly, Alan pulls the files up on the computer then, as Stefan is reviewing them, Alan gets a call and has to leave the office. Stefan immediately exits the accounting files and does a search on the system. We see him copy down info on somebody in room 666 [the number of the Beast? Oh, has Ruby checked into GH?? Come on, writers, isn't that a bit obvious?]. Back in the Q library, Tracy tells Sonny that, in light of recent events at ELQ, she thinks Edward has lost his marbles. She wants Sonny on her side in future ELQ stuff. He declines. Then she semi-taunts him about Jax and his "pretty little wife" but Sonny doesn't rise to the bait. He's just turning to leave when Ned and Lois blow in. Sonny greets them and hugs Lois, then he leaves. Ned and Lois mess with Tracy a little bit before Edward bursts into the room and demands to know what Sonny was doing in his house! A big loud argument between Tracy and Edward ensues; Lila rolls in and calls a halt to the imbroglio. She says that they're going to act like a civilized family even if she has to beat them with fireplace tongs. Then she orders a nice family dinner from cook. She gushes over Ned and Lois and the importance of the family; the kids chicken out of tellinig her, right then, about their plans for California. At Kelly's, Gina is still holding the ice bag on Lucky's knuckles. Gidget peeks in and sees Lucky in Gina's thrall; he sits at an outside table and Sonny shows up. They trade information about Stefan [nothing we don't know]. Again, Sonny offers to off Stefan and "the mongrel" [so much for the kinder, gentler mob, huh?] but Gidget says they've got to keep them alive because Lesley Lu might need more bone marrow down the line. Mac arrives and starts yelling at Sonny about Robin and Jason. Gidget grabs her surfboard and heads for the beach. Sonny is flippant in the face of Mac's worry and anger but after Mac leaves Sonny makes a call to mobilize the troops around the missing kids. Meanwhile, we see Jason being wheeled into some emergency room, his face a roadmap of blood and bruises; no sign of Robin [remember that the last we saw of her she was still sitting in the restaurant with some hood standing across the table from her]. Back in the park, Laura tells Bobbie that Gidget might be wrong about Stefan, that Stef might have no hidden agenda and that he might be an okay guy. Bobbie does her Betty-Boop imitation with the eyes and the clown-mouth in a grimace and says she's skeptical. Laura and Bobbie part company: Laura heads for Kelly's and Bobbie goes back to GH. Laura finds Lucky outside Kelly's and gets his version of the fight with Nikolas [even though she doesn't say it, she very much doubts Lucky could have taken Nikolas in a fight]. She is upset that they were fighting and that Gidget got involved. She hugs Lucky and says she is sorry [what for?] while Nikolas watches them darkly from the shadows. He locks eyes with Lucky and the two of them glare at each other. Back at the hospital, Stefan has found the info he wanted and leaves Alan's office. In the lobby, and with Bobbie rolling her eyes and flapping her ears, he tells Alan that he has decided to not give GH any money as it would be like pouring money down a rat hole. He gets in the elevator and goes to the 6th floor. He finds room 666 and enters. It is dimly lit and looks like a storage room. He walks into the room slowly and appears to be caught in the grip of a powerful emotion; his face is contorted with pain [this wouldn't be the room his brother died in, would it??]. Somebody opens the door and flips on the lights. It's the 'hobag who says, "what are you doing here? You shouldn't be in here!" Meanwhile, last shot of the show, Gidget breaks into Windemere, [did he come in through some secret door in the paneling? Looked like it] puffing on his disgusting cigar, and starts to creep the house. He is caught up short, again, when he sees the giant portrait of Laura. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy@gundog.lbl.gov end end
