Subject: GH: Update for Fri 08/02/96 Sent: 8/4/96 2:19 PM From: John R. Andrews , jandrews@uic.edu GH Update for 08/02/96 By John R. Andrews, UIC Scene 1 Lois and Ned sit at the Outback and await Tracy's arrival for a "family" dinner. Scene 2 Luke asks Sonny if he knows Stephan Cassidine. Scene 3 Bobbie is overwhelmed by her surprise birthday party and unexpectedly runs out to everyone's concern. Scene 4 Monica joins Bobbie out on the brownstone porch for a chat. Bobbie says she just couldn't face everyone's expectations to say nothing of Carly's youthful figure in Bobbie's revealing old dress. Scene 5 Sonny says he doesn't know the Cassidines. Scene 6 Lois tries to make conversation with Tracy about Eddie Main, but "Mother Ashton" just wants to discuss ELQ business and how to get Ned's CEO job back despite Ned's insistence that he doesn't want it. Scene 7 Tracy insists that Ned has been brainwashed by Lois, and they need to look out for their child's legacy. Scene 8 Sonny asks if Luke wants the Cassidines "gone" [Yes, Sonny always with the gracious offer], but Luke declines the offer saying if he wanted them dead he'd do it himself [got to love the guy]. Luke says Laura thinks Stephan has some good in him, but Luke is sure it's all just a plot for revenge on them for destroying the Cassidine family. Scene 9 Back at the party, Carly plays the hostess with the mostess, while Tony obtusely sings her praises much to Bobbies growing annoyance. Amy privately voices to Bobbie her dislike for and distrust of Carly. Scene 10 Brenda joins the family Ashton to talk L&B business with Lois, while exchanging a few pithy comments with Tracy. Scene 11 Luke and Sonny discuss Brenda and Jax. Sonny says he would have nothing left to give her, and besides, she seems happy; however, he doesn't trust Jax. Scene 12 Bobbie opens various presents. Lucy gives her a lifetime supply of Jax cosmetics, Monica a sexy negligee, Carly a framed picture of Bobbie, Tony, and Lucas at the Nurses Ball. Tony finally gives her his gift, a week's vacation [alone] at a great spa [read fat farm]; however, when Tony, again being incredibly dim, reveals it was Carly's idea, Bobbie stands up and announces let's hear it for Carly and storms out. Scene 13 On her front porch, a distraught Bobbie encounters Stephan Cassidine. Unaware of his identity, Bobbie chats amicably with him about birthdays and "measuring up." Luke suddenly arrives and orders Bobbie into the house. He angrily tells Stephan to stay away or he'll kill him then decks Stephan as punctuation. When the others come out to see what's happening, Stephan says he has an urgent message for Alan. Scene 14 Lois introduces Sonny to Tracy. Ned tells Sonny he's ok with the changes at ELQ and thanks Sonny for voting with him. Sonny says he plans to take a hands off position at ELQ as it's just an investment. During the conversation, Brenda and Sonny keep exchanging looks that Tracy picks up on. Scene 15 Stephan says GH is in trouble of going into the bedpan because Mercy Hospital may move during the power vacuum at GH left by Steve Hardy's untimely demise. After he leaves, Bobbie breaks up the party, and all the participants drift off. Scene 16 Alone at last at the Outback, Lois and Ned discuss Tracy's motives. Ned proposes they book a few more stops on the Idle Rich world tour. Lois loves the idea. Scene 17 Lucy jabbers to Kevin about Bobbie and the party, but then she tells him he's been upset since he talked to Mac [about Tom we know] and wants him to tell her what Mac told him. Scene 18 Mac calls Felicia and tells her he thinks he knows who the stalker is, so she should lock her doors and not let anyone in until he gets there. Meanwhile, a figure lurks outside her window; eventually, we see it's Tom. Scene 19 Monica and Alan discuss the Cassidines and GH. Scene 20 Luke chastises Bobbie for talking to Stephan. She counters saying she didn't know who he was then claims she was upset and fires off a litany of complaints against Carly as reasons. Standing outside, Carly overhears her diatribe. A slight smirk crosses her lips. Scene 21 Stephan returns home to find Laura sitting and smiling smugly in his chair under her portrait.
