Okay, I finally gave up and went with a transcript. It was just too good.
This had to be one of the best episodes of GH I have ever seen. I know that
the plain dialogue cannot give you half of the subtext & body language
that was there, but if you didn't get to see it, let me assure you, it
was fantastic. I made an audiotape to transcribe from, so I got nearly all
of it except for some lines that I could not make out. If I have
misattributed
any lines, I apologize...in particular, Luke & Stefan have very similar
voices.  :)

One observation I would like to make...I never noticed this during all
my years of watching the Q's--I think one of the most ironic things about
this family is the way they appear to the individual members. Each member
is a part of the whole, and also separate. For example, Monica speaks of
"this family" as something separate from her, something she has to deal
with. So does AJ. So does Ned. Yet, they are all part of each other's
obstacle.

That said, here you go. :)

TRANSCRIPT FOR MONDAY JULY 29, 1996 GENERAL HOSPITAL
"The Bitch is Back"

(Tracy enters the foyer and says to someone) "Don't bother to announce me."
Lila is taking the board meeting vote and asks for AJ's vote.
AJ: "Uh...geez, uh, I say throw him out, Grandmother. Ned, that would
be a nay."
Lila: "Four against, three in favor. May we have Tracy's proxy?"
Edward: "Certainly."
Tracy: "Not so fast."
Lila: "Tracy!"
Ned: "Mother."
Tracy: "Drop that proxy, Daddy, and say hello to the real thing." (she
enters the room) "You're looking handsome as ever, and Mother, you are
as beautiful as ever."
Lila: "Tracy, darling, what a WONDERFUL surprise..."
Edward: "Uh...why aren't you in London? Or wherever you were last..."
Monica: "Hello, Tracy."
Tracy: "Hello, Monica. (Laughs sharply). "Why is it every time I see
you your hair gets lighter, and your face gets darker? Coincidence? And
for everybody else, I'm Tracy Quartermaine...what are you trying to do
to my son?"
Ned: "They're trying to dump me."
Tracy: "I see. (turns to Justus) "Oh, would you take this up with my
luggage please? My driver's bringing it in now."
Edward: "Oh, Tracy, uh..."
Tracy: "You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Now, darling, never fear.
Mother's here."

(hospital room where Laura is lying in bed, Nikolas is there)
Laura: "Lucky..."(she realizes who it is) "It's you...Nikolas, please."
Nikolas: "What's wrong with you?"
Laura: "I'm so glad you're here."
Nikolas: "Is my sister well?"
Laura: "Yes, she is. Thanks to you."
Nikolas: "All right then. Sorry to bother you, I was just curious."

Laura: "No, please, don't go. Nikolas, there's something that I have to tell
you."
Nikolas: "Don't, allright? I already know they're lies."

Luke: "You. That day in the cemetery."
Stefan: "You remember. But we weren't introduced. Stefan Cassadine.
Luke: "I know who you are. I know all about you."
Stefan: "a man whose wife has been meeting someone in secret can
hardly claim to know everything. Can he?"
***
Luke: "You ought to be happy Laura kept quiet about meeting you. It was
only to keep me from putting a bullet in your head."
Stefan: "I find myself in the awkward position of having to explain your
wife to you. What she feels toward me...toward us...is a deep gratitude.
But perhaps your daughter's life means more to her."
Luke: "Did you think we'd be so grateful that we couldn't defend ourselves?
You can drag my kids out of burning buildings every day of the week, it
won't change a THING...about how I feel about you. You people killed my
wife's mother. You made her live like a slave, and then you threatened to
kill everyone she loves if she talked about it. The REASON...that she
kept quiet about meeting with her blackmailer is because those were
your rules, weren't they?"
Stefan: "Not mine."
Luke: "Slick touch, meeting her at her mother's grave."
Stefan: "There was a funeral that day I knew Lasha was attending. Old habits
die hard. That's what my brother called her. Her other husband."
Luke: "Her kidnapper. I remember."
Stefan: "So I offered to come to her at the cemetery, in order to save
her the trouble of making the trip out here again. But I don't suppose
you knew about that either."
Luke: "Do you really think I care? How many times you met my wife or
where? What she does, she does for me and for our kids. You can hang
all the portraits and dangle all the insinuations you want, but
you've made a serious miscalculation. If you think anything or anybody
is gonna come between me and Laura."

Laura: "Nikolas...look at me...please. Please. From the moment that
you were born, I have loved you. Stronger than the distance between us
or the fear, was my love for you. You're my son, and I love you. I love
you now..."
Nikolas: "I don't remember you. This conversation's out of place."
Laura: "I didn't want to leave you."
Nikokas: "Are you telling me you were forced?"
Laura nods and whispers yes.
Nikolas: "If you'd have left me my father that'd have been something. But
no."
Laura: "There are circumstances about your father's death that you haven't
been told..."
Nikolas: (near tears) "Love me? Are you delirious? If you'd have loved me,
you'd have claimed me. You'd be one of us. But instead...instead, you left me
and you never came back."
Laura: "That's not true. I tried."
Nikolas: "You know, I liked you better when you were asleep."
Laura: "You're angry with me, and that's fair. But your family's quarrel
is with me. It's not fair to punish Luke for all of this."
Nikolas (angrily): "Are you asking me, to be your new husband's protector?
Huh?" (storms out of the room as Bobbie enters)
Bobbie: "Are you all right? Should I call security?"
Laura: "No. Don't do that. Let him go. He didn't do anything wrong. I did."
Bobbie: "What did he want?"
Laura: "You should have seen his face when I mentioned Luke. What if
this is exactly how he planned it?"
Bobbie: "To do something to Luke?"
Laura: "Yeah. I've gotta get home, in case Luke tries to call."
Bobbie: "He won't try there. He'll assume you're here, that you'll want
to be near Lulu."
Laura: "Did Lucky go home?"
Bobbie: "I don't know. I doubt it."
Laura: "Please don't tell him that Nikolas was here. God only knows what
he would do."

Tracy: "Darling, has it been a difficult year? Pretty soon you're gonna
be a dead ringer for your grandfather."(chuckles evilly)
Ned: "Mother, there's someone I'd like you to meet."
Edward: "People, we are having a board meeting."
Tracy: "Daddy, aren't you the least bit happy to see me?"
Edward: "Well, technically, yes, but we're in the middle of a meeting
and it's material that you don't know anything about, so why don't you
go find Cook and have her fix you a nice dinner after your long trip,
hm?"
Tracy: "Daddy, haven't you fired that horrid woman yet? At least you
replaced Reginald with somebody more presentable." (indicating Justus)
Alan: "It's congenital. She was born awful."
Edward: "Tracy, will you stop? Justus, I'd like to have you meet my
daughter, Tracy. Tracy, this is um, this is Justus Ward. Among other
things, he is our chief counsel."
Tracy. "Oh my."
AJ: "Cousin Justus? Meet Aunt Tracy."
Edward: "That's right. Justus is family."
Justus: (sarcastically) "Howdy do, Miss Tracy."
Lila: "I wrote you all about him, dear."
Tracy: "Mother, you neglected to mention that he's..."
Jason: "Excuse me, is this almost over?"
Tracy: "Jason! Oh, I think it's just wonderful the way you have
recovered after your accident. You remember me, don't you? Of course
you do."
Sonny: "You know what? I think it's time we leave."
Ned: "We haven't finished our business."
Sonny: "Yes we have. Call us when you're ready."
Edward: "No...uh...there's a vote in progress."
(Tracy turns her stare to Brenda)
Tracy: "I remember you. Julia Barrett was your brilliant sister, and you were
the other one." (Brenda makes a face) "Who is that impossibly attractive man
you keep staring at?"
Brenda: "It's my husband."
Tracy: "Not that one. The one that just walked out."
Alan: "He's our newest board member. Sonny Corinthos. He's also the local
crime lord. His wife just died. Don't be bashful."
Edward: "Uh...Lila, I believe we were just about at the end of the roll call.
Jax it's your vote. Yay or nay."
Tracy: "I have a vote, Daddy."
Edward: "No I'm sorry, it's too late, because the voting is underway."
Lois: "Oh, no no no no no no, Mr. Q, because the rule of order says that
a proxy is null and void if the signateur (sp?) arrives before it's counted."
Tracy: "Give that girl a raise. Daddy, finally a secretary who's more than
just decorative. Where are you from, dear; I can see that English isn't
your first language."
Monica: "You'd better sit down, Tracy."

Tracy: "Well! Far be it from me to let my homecoming derail the proceedings.
Would you be a dear and go find my bag out in the foyer with the blue bear
in it, run it upstairs to my son Dillon, 'cause his nanny's trying to put him
to bed, and he'll never go to sleep without it."
(Lois smiles and laughs uncomfortably)
Ned: "Mother, I'd like you to meet Lois Cerullo-Ashton. President and co-
founder of L&B records, as well as my wife and soulmate. (he rubs her belly)
And THIS is our little work in progress."
Lois: "I am so pleased to MEET you! And thank you so much for sending us that
champagne. Oh, and, by the way, I'm from Brooklyn, in the ole U.S of A."
Tracy: "So you're Lois. I should have guessed, you're so aglow."
Lois: "Well (giggly) Well, I'm kinda famous for glowin' these days, ya know,
HEE."
Tracy: "Silly me, you never could have typed with those things. What is he
thinking?"
Brenda (to Jax): "Well, I didn't realize that we were all going to be having
our nails and HAIR looked at, so I'm going to go fix myself."
(outside in the foyer)
Jason (to Sonny): "Can you imagine if Ned was me and he woke up one day
not knowing anyone, and SHE walked in the room saying Guess who?"
Sonny: "Well, she's a vote for Ned. Which means it's up to Jax."
Jason: "Great, then Ned's okay. Why would Jax want him out of the company?"
Sonny: "Who knows what Jax wants."
Brenda (to Jax in another corner of the foyer): "I cannot believe the way that
woman was speaking to Lois, and what I really can't believe is that Ned wasn't
doing anything about it."
Jax: "Look, I have a feeling that's how she speaks to everyone."
Brenda: "Well, whatever. I don't know why she was thinking that I was staring
at anyone. All I was doing was looking anywhere but at her."
Jax: "Look, you're young, you're beautiful, she's just trying to put you
in your place. Do like Lois, laugh it off."
Brenda: "Lois didn't look like she was laughing."
Jax: "Well, I think you're better off. We've got to get back in there soon,
okay?"
(they kiss as Sonny stares at her).

Lucky: "How's Mom?"
Bobbie: "Well, she's asleep again. And that's good because that's what she
needs the most."
Lucky: "You two were talking, that's why I came out here."
Bobbie: "Actually she just dropped off. She's that exhausted. Look, before
she did, she asked me to check on you. Have you eaten?"
Lucky: "Ate at Aunt Ruby's. I did. Rule number one, you gotta keep
eating to keep moving."
Bobbie: "Now that sounds like someone I know. Getting ready to run?"
Lucky: "Just paying attention."
Bobbie: "And waiting for marching orders from your father?"
Lucky: "No one's heard from him, you know? And when my mom and dad are out
of commission, I take over. That's the way it works."
Bobbie: "Lucky..."
Lucky: "No, listen, Aunt Bobbie, it's no sweat. I mean, it's no sweat if
you've got a plan. I've got plans from A to Z. I learned 'em by heart when
I was a little kid. You can bet that's what my little sister's gonna do."
Bobbie: "Just promise me you won't be running off anywhere tonight, for
your mother's sake."
Lucky: "You know, she, um...she seemed kind of upset when you were in there,
at me."
Bobbie: "Oh no, not at you! Oh my goodness, she loves you to distraction.
(sighs) No, I think it's just because she hates the way all of this has
come out...about Nikolas, about his father. She hates what it's doing
to you."
LUCKY: "Yeah, well...I...yelled at her, you know...I...I said things...
if I'd just SHUT UP she wouldn't be here!"
BOBBIE: "Oh, Lucky, that's not true. It's not your fault."
LUCKY: (mumbles)
TONY: "So. What's missing from this picture? An uncle." (HUGS LUCKY).

STEFAN: "I'm sorry to hear you don't like the portrait."
LUKE: "It's miserable. She looks trapped."
STEFAN: "You know, coming between you and lasha has never been my intention."
LUKE: "Then what the hell is?"
STEFAN: "I think it's a beautiful likeness myself. She posed for many happy
hours."
LUKE: "The artist forgot to paint in the shackles and the tape across her
mouth."
STEFAN: "You like a joke."
LUKE: "You can paper your walls with pictures of my wife. You can build
a shrine, open a wax museum of Laura's, just don't ..ever...go near the real
one again."
STEFAN: "Knowing Lasha as I do, I doubt she'd like anyone making decisionS
for her."
Luke: "No, I'm making that decision for YOU. Keep yourself and your
wandering nephew off my turf."
Stefan: "You're on my turf now, Mr. Spencer. Uninvited, at that. It's the
only turf for miles around, in fact."
Luke: "That's right, it is. That makes it a good place for you and that
kid. Nobody cares what you do out here. Keep your secrets from the eels
and the spiders, turn the lights down and suck each other's blood. But I'll
tell you this: in town, if one morning some stray Cassadine is found
floating face down in the river, nobody will care."
(they are annoyingly playing some cool music that is usually reserved for
Sonny, :(  )

Tony: "Well, her labs are fine, and her general health is excellent, so
I think we have to look at the obvious here, which is all the nights that she
sat up with Lulu, and then right on the heels of the trial and being in jail,
and there may be other pressures on her that I don't even know about."
Lucky: "So are you saying we should just leave her alone?"
Tony: "Well, I think what she needs is some time off from life, which we ALL
need sometimes, right? Where IS your father, anyway?"
Lucky: "Um...I think he's, uh...I think he was reading a book to Lulu. She
, you know, she loves it when he acts out all the stories. Um, but, you know,
I'm gonna tell him everything you said, so...thanks."
(Lucky leaves and Tony turns to Bobbie)
Tony: "So, what's the secret here? Come on, I was there. Laura was not your
average nervous wreck, she was terrified, and if her husband is in this
building or was in this building he was not more than ten centimeters away from
her at the most."
Bobbie: "Luke doesn't know. He's been away for a couple of days, and they
haven't heard from him."
Tony: "Away doing what though, he and Laura aren't having problems, are they?"
Bobbie: "No, no, it's nothing like that. Honey, I'm sorry, I can't. It's up
to Laura to tell you when she's ready. But, we are doing all of the right
things for her, trust me."
Tony: "Okay. Come to think of it, (tape is garbled) want to know what your
brother is doing. I just don't want you to think that I can't keep a deep,
dark secret, because if you have one that you want to tell me, I have
fifteen minutes available, actually I have twelve minutes available."
Bobbie: "Twelve minutes, huh?"
Tony: "Um hum."
Bobbie: "Not even enough time to make one up." (laughs)

Edward: "The voting's about to continue."
Brenda: "Oh, you mean Tracy's decided to take the bribe?"
Edward: "You know you could go a long way toward redeeming yourself in my
eyes tonight, hmm? (said to Jax as Brenda scoffs in disgust). Hey, are
you two coming?"(said to Jason and Sonny).
(everyone re-enters the room)
Sonny: "Your tie, it's crooked."
Edward: "No it isn't..."
Edward: "You know, Ned, you brought this all on yourself, hmm? Opening
the door for the likes of Sonny Corinthos."
Ned: "He's not the most unscrupulous man in the room tonight."
Edward: "Hmmm." (people situate themselves around the room) "All right,
all right, now. This meeting is called back to order. Now the motion
be...the motion before us is...how is it worded?"
Jason: "A yay is a vote to keep Ned on as CEO, a nay is a vote to remove him."
Edward: "Thank you. Lila, will you please call the roll from the beginning?"
Lila: "Lila Quartermaine, who is ASHAMED to be ordered to vote on such a thing.
Yay. Edward Quartermaine?"
Edward:  "Nay, for the second time."
Lila: "Alan Quartermaine?"
Alan: "Nay."
Lila: "Monica Quartermaine?"
Monica: "I haven't changed my vote. Nay."
Edward: "Heh hum, that's another nay. That's one for and three against."
Lila: "Edward Ashton?"
Ned: "I haven't changed my vote either. Yay."
Edward: "Well, that's two for and three against."
Lila: "Michael Corinthos, Jr.?"
Sonny: "Yay."
Lila: "Alan Quartermaine, Jr?"
AJ: "Nay."
Lila: "Tracy Quartermaine."
Tracy: "Far be it from me to question Daddy's business acumen."
Edward: "Was that a vote?"
Tracy (turning on Alan and Monica) "But what I don't understand is how the
two of you could turn against Ned. I don't count AJ. He's always been led
around by the nose."
Alan: "Oh please. Stop acting like Mother Courage! We see more of your son than
you do."
Tracy: "And what did Ned do that was so wrong? From what I understand, he
gave Jason his stock. And if you are NOT going to institutionalize the boy,
why shouldn't he HAVE it?"
Edward: "Will you cast your vote and get on with it!"
Tracy: "I can remember a day not so very long ago that it was my head on the
block. I vote WITH MY SON, YAY."
Edward: "All right. That's four on either side. It's up to you, Jax."
Jax: "I'd like to clarify something first."
Ned: "Let's hear it."
Jax: "My vote is no more important than anyone else's, it just happens to
come last."
Edward: "Um hum. Understood."
Jax: "All right then. Nay." (Ned, Lois & Brenda look at him in shock.)"Sorry,
Ned."

Jax: "Business is business."
Edward: "Well, the motion is carried. The CEO is relieved of his duties, and
I will serve in his stead until a new one is appointed."
Tracy: "Are you happy now, Daddy?"
Alan: "Oh, leave him alone, he was only one vote."
AJ: "Led around by his nose."
Tracy (amused) "Why don't you find someone else to echo?"
(Brenda & Lois circle around Ned)
Brenda: "I had no idea this was going to happen."
Lois: "That snake in the grass..."
Ned: "Lois..."
Lois: "Oh oh oh oh, yeah yeah, right, I'm sorry, I mean, why should Jax be
any more loyal than the rest of your family?"
Justus: "Ned, I'm sorry. I thought you had him beat."
Ned: "You should be on the fast track now, cous..."
Jason: "This is my fault, isn't it."
Lois: "Oh, no, Jason, come on. Look, Edward woulda found some other excuse."
Sonny: "Sorry, Lois, we tried."
Lois: "I know you did. I know. You know what though? This just shouldn't happen
in someone's own living room you know? That's all I gotta say."
Edward (to Jax): "You know, I thought it would be a cold day in hell when I
would be shaking your hand (laughing).
Jax: "Maybe that's just what it is."
AJ: "Let me tell you what, Tracy. Because your darling baby boy has treated me
the same way that YOU treat everybody time and time again, like dirt."
Tracy: "Well, look at you. Who knew you'd be sensitive."
Edward: "Can't you pick on someone your own size?"
AJ: "It's okay, Grandfather. I can take care of myself."
Tracy: "You know what? I don't care what they tell you at those AA meetings.
Self esteem is not for everyone."
Monica (to Alan) "This was a mistake."
Alan: "Oh, you're deciding that NOW?"
Monica: "Edward just staged a coup of his own company."
Alan: "So what? It's his toy."
Monica: "Yes, but now there isn't anyone looking over his shoulder. Now
he has free rein to do whatever he wants to do with our future."
Alan: "That's what he's ALWAYS done. And what makes you think that we have
a future?"
Monica: "I don't know why I bother to express one sincere sentiment in this
house."
Alan: "Look, if you don't like it, change your vote. Just tell him."
(Ned starts laughing loudly and hysterically, almost sounding as if he
is crying, drawing everyone's attention to him).
Lois: "Honey? Honey?"
Brenda: "Ned..."
Lois: "What?"
Edward: "Well. If there's no further business, I move to adjourn."
Ned: "First, if I may...I'd like to address the board."
Edward: "Ned, it's late, and we're all tired."
Monica: "Oh, for heaven's sakes, Edward, let him have his say!"
Ned: "Just...two words, that's it. Thank you." (turns to Lois). "Sweetheart,
I am free at last."
Lois: "Well (he's hugging her and she's smiling) "If I ever needed a reason
to remind me of why I love you, you just showed me, baby. I'll just follow your
lead."
Tracy: "Darling, I think it's a little premature to put on a brave front. We're
not going to let them WIN."
Ned: "Oh, Mother. I won. The old man has another grandson who has his OWN
business suits. So. Let him live on worms and ground glass for a while.
Justus! To Justus Ward. Our future CEO. I hope you're a glutton for punish-
ment."
Tracy: "Don't even GO there! You're not going to give up what's rightfully
yours; if you're tired of fighting, I'll do it FOR you."
Jax: "No hard feelings? A hug?" (Jax/Brenda/Ned/Lois hug)

Stefan: "In return for your daughter's life you threaten mine."
Luke: "You were expecting flowers?"
Stefan: "I never ask or expect anything. Whatever comes to me from you
will be offered. Does that ease your mind any, Luke?"
Luke: "When you get home, give my regards to your mother."
Stefan: "Oh, that won't be any time soon. Nicholas and I have
decided to stay on here for now."
Luke: "Really? I'd invest in storms and screens, it gets buggy out here."
Stefan: "Aren't you going to ask why?"
Luke: "Like you'd tell me? It doesn't matter."
Stefan: "That sounds like a phrase to have engraved on your tombstone."
Luke: "No, that's already picked out. It's gonna say 'this is merely a
temporary setback.'"
Stefan: "I'd like to show you my brother's grave sometime."
Luke: "Great...when I feel like dancing. Don't forget, Stefan. Every
Cassadine who ever came up against me is now dead."

Stefan: "Let me point out one crucial difference between myself and the
Cassadines you've known."
Luke: "You've got a beard?"
Stefan: "I've got Lasha's son."
Luke: "I'm sure you made him everything he is today."
Stefan: "Someone had to raise him."
Luke: "The two of you oughta be happy here, as long as you brought the
coffins to sleep in."
(Nikolas enters the room)
Nikolas: "What's he doing here?"
Stefan: "This is Mr. Spencer, Nikolas..."
Nikolas: "I know who he is."
Stefan: "Apparently he was in the neighborhood, but he was just leaving."
Nikolas: "So what's taking you so long?"
Luke: "You must be so proud, Stefan."
Nikolas: "And what kind of father ARE you? They don't even know where you
are! They're at the mercy of your namesake and his 'A to Z' plan. You call
yourself your family's protector. Who saved my sister's life, huh? Not YOU.
And who waited tonight by Laura's bedside, huh? Not you."
(Luke lunges forward and grabs him)
Luke: "You little bastard!!!"
Stefan: "Spencer, release the boy!"
Nikolas: "It's your own fault that we ever came here in the first place!"
Stefan: "Nikolas!" (turns to Luke) "If you ever lay a hand on him again, you
will have a use for that headstone."
Luke: "You make sure I don't have to." (he leaves)
Stefan: "This is how you obey me? What did I tell you about seeing your
mother?"
Nikolas: "I didn't know she was there!"
Stefan: "Tell me everything."

(Justus and Lois have escaped to the patio)
Lois: "This must be as many light years away from the Wards as it is the
Cerullos."
Justus: "Makes you wonder what lottery we won."
Lois: "The MAGIC one, that nobody signed up for."
Justus: "Is Ned really okay?"
Lois: "He says he is. What can I do but believe him? How are you?"
Justus: "Me?"
Lois: "Yeah, you. You just found yourself smack dab in the middle of all the
manipulation and the power plays and blood sport. How does it sit with you?"
Justus: "Heavy. But then I guess I'm where I deserve to be."
Lois: "Deserve? What do you mean by that?"
Justus: "Supposed to be. I meant to say, supposed to be. After all, they
are my family. I can't tell you how much I hated that when I found out."
Lois: "I could...I could just imagine."
Justus: "Granny May wanted so badly for me to establish some kind of common
ground with Edward; well I guess I did that, yes indeed I did."
Lois: "Why do I get the feeling you don't really need me for this
conversation?"
Justus: "I'm sorry. I'm in a very strange mood."
Lois: (laughs) "After what we were just put through in there? I think you're
entitled. Justus, I am bringing a tiny, defenseless little baby into that
loony bin. Do you think she's gonna make it?"
Justus: "Yeah. Oh yes."
Lois: "You sound sure of yourself."
Justus: "That's because with you as this baby's mother, this child gets the
best of both worlds. You see, what I'm discovering, Lois, is that being a
Quartermaine is not all bad, and forget about the money. There are other
advantages, like instant credibility. Access to influential and powerful
people. Being able to wheel and deal on this exalted level. All these things
can be utilized for good."
Lois: "I want you to promise me something."
Justus: "What?"
Lois: "You guard your soul. I know that sounds like a given, but I'm telling
you-souls are not valued around here. They just get in the way. And if you
really, really mean to use this for a higher goal, Edward is gonna find yours
especially troublesome. You gotta keep heads up around here about stuff like
that."
Justus: "Thank you. That's very good advice and I'll try to remember it."
Lois: "Wish me luck, I'm gonna go back in."

Ned: "Maybe we should have one of the guest rooms made up for you."
Sonny: "Jason got cornered by his parents. I'll be out of your hair real soon.
Tough break there, Ned."
Ned: "Oh, I can wash my hands of the family business. And of one or two family
members. But I will NEVER forgive you for taking advantage of Jason. I came
to him for help, and you cashed in on it."
Sonny: "Is there a remote possibility that maybe Jason can make a decision on
his own?
(Edward walks up) Edward: "Spare us the rationalizations. You manipulated a
damaged boy to worm your way onto this board. It was greed. And it'll be
greed that gets rid of you. I'm buying you out. How much do you want for
those shares?"
Sonny: "More money than YOU can pay."
Edward: "There is no such amount. Now, I'm not of the notion that every
man has his price. But I know YOU do. And if you need some, uh,
motivation, maybe I can persuade the D.A. to provide you some."
Sonny: "No WONDER Jason was so desperate not to come within a mile of
this place. He broke out of hell."
Edward: "You thumb your nose at me, Corinthos, and I will take you down.
You know, underneath those...those fancy clothes, you're nothing but a
common criminal. I know your local operations, and your offshore gambling,
and your unholy alliance with Hernando Rivera of Puerto Rico."
(Brenda and Jax are watching and listening, and Sonny knows this)
Sonny: "My alliance was with his daughter."
Edward: "It was a financial arrangement"
(Sonny takes a deep breath) Sonny: "You're an old man, and you're Jason's
grandfather. You should be very thankful for those two things. You want to
talk to me about crime families? What you should do is go in that room
and take a look in one of those big mirrors."
Edward: "Start looking for (he notices Brenda & Jax watching)...for
someplace to launder your cash, Corinthos. I will pluck you off like a tick."

Jason: Sonny didn't even WANT the ELQ shares. I practically had to force
him to take 'em."
Monica: "Why DID you?"
Jason: "There were reasons. Good reasons. Would it be possible for you to
take my word on SOMETHING? Because if just one of you believed me and changed
your mind, Ned would get his job back, right?"
Alan: "Do you owe him money?"  (Tracy bitches away in the background somewhere)
Jason: "Who? Sonny? For what?"
Alan: "For anything, for favors that he did for you."
Jason: "I work for HIM, he pays ME."
Alan: "Look, I am not trying to tell you what to do, I am simply saying to you
that Sonny has been in this town long enough to establish a history, and there
may be stuff about him that you're simply not aware of.
Jason: "I know he just gave your hospital thirty million dollars."
Monica: "Okay. He can be generous. But without making moral judgements,
when someone operates outside the law there is no PROTECTION anymore."
Jason: "Exactly, that's the same thing Sonny says. He wants me to find
a regular job; he was going to find one for me himself."
Alan: "I know, but sometimes people mean well, or they seem to mean well..."
(Sonny enters by the front door from the yard).
Sonny: "I'm heading home."
Jason: "Good. I'm..."
Sonny: "No, you go ahead, you stay. I'll send the car back for you. Finish
your conversation. Uh..... (turns to Alan and Monica) I couldn't get a word
in edgewise before. I just want you to know that you have every reason to
be proud of your son. He's honest, he's smart..."
Alan (angry and near tears) "I don't need you to tell me about any of the
good qualities of my son, okay? There isn't a day that goes by that I don't
worry about him. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't miss him."
Sonny: "I'm not saying you...I'm not saying you don't, I understand that.
Maybe...maybe it might help you out to know that uh...we look out for each
other."
Alan: "The way you looked out for Lily? No. It doesn't help."

Sonny: "Sorry for interrupting. Good night."
Photographer: "Uh, group photograph?"
Monica: "It's been canceled."
Edward: "Oh, oh good, here, excuse me. Come right on in here."
Alan (to Monica): "I didn't say anything that wasn't true."
Monica: "He's gone, Alan. He's gone. And this time I didn't do it."
AJ: "Mom, Dad, I think they're ready for us."
(everyone enters the room for the photo)
Edward: "Here, Monica, come in, you're going to be in the middle of the
couch. AJ, over here."
Monica: "Edward, why are we doing this?"
Edward: "Because it's what we always do, we do it every year."
Monica: "Is that a good enough reason?"
Edward: "Yes, it is, Monica, and if you don't understand that, you don't
understand the first thing about being in this family."
Monica: "Oh good! Maybe there's hope for me yet."
Edward: "Would you two move in a little closer please here, right against
the table."
Brenda: "Why am I in the picture?"
Jax: "Because I need you to be."
Brenda: "I don't want to be..."
Lois: "Ned, honey, they didn't say cheese yet."
Tracy: "Are you on Ned's side or aren't you?"
Justus: "If I had had a vote..."
Tracy: "Then why don't you find a loophole? And undo all the damage that's
been done. You're supposed to be corporate counsel."
Justus: "You know I'm really trying to be polite..."
Edward: "Sorry, we've got to get the picture. (turns to Lila) Dear, are
you all right over here, Mother?"
Photographer: "OK, if the young lady with the beautiful smile could take just
a step forward." (Tracy steps forward, beaming). "Uh, the young lady is not
quite as tall." (Brenda steps forward triumphantly).
Edward: "Here, Justus..."
Justus: "I am not on the board, I'm not in this picture, thank God."
Tracy: "Daddy, don't FORCE the man."
Edward: "I have more important things in mind for you than the board member
ship. Now come on. All right now we're ready. All right, now SMILE DAMMIT!"

Stefan: "And what did your mother say to you?"
Nikolas: "They gave her something...I don't know...she wasn't very coherent."
Stefan: "Will she be all right?"
Nikolas: "That's what her doctor said. Seems he's a relative too."
Stefan: "Sounds as if our visitor will have his hands full at home."
Nikolas: "I only wanted to get a closer look at her."
Stefan: "Why? You know what she looks like." (indicating the portrait)
Nikolas: "Why does that have to BE here?"
Stefan: "That's what Luke Spencer is asking himself as we speak."

Luke: "Hey, good man! Good man!"
Lucky: "Hey! Oh man!"
Luke: "I heard it got kinda rough for you while I was away, I'm sorry."
Lucky: "Yeah, well, Mom, she kinda..."
Luke: "Yeah, I saw Bobbie downstairs, she told me everything."
Lucky: "I got scared for Lulu, you know? I mean, I took her to Ruby's."
Luke: "Listen, you didn't screw up. Not at all. You followed your instincts
to protect your sister. I can't ask any more of you than that. You did not
screw up, and look at this...you're even making contingency plans."
Lucky: (mumbles something about never being too prepared)
Luke: "Right, exactly."
Lucky: "So what happened with the Cassadines?"
Luke: "I met with 'em, put 'em on notice. Apart from that, a bunch of nothing."
Lucky: "The kid, he's gone for good, right?"
Luke: "I gotta check in on your mother. But then I will fill in all the blanks
for you."
(he goes into her room and wakes her up)
Luke: "Laura."
Laura: "Luke. Oh thank God. Oh. (they hug)"
Luke: "Your son told me where you were...your OTHER son."
