* A Day with Her Prince
In their suite at the Port Charles Hotel, Brenda is looking at the proof
sheet from her photo shoot when Jax sneaks up behind her and startles
her. He takes the sheet and looks at them. There's a knock at the door
and Jax asks Brenda to answer it saying he doesn't want to loose his
spot as he continues to look at the proof sheet. She answers the door
and it's a delivery man with a package for Brenda. She signs for the
package and is about to get the delivery man a tip, but he tells her
it's already been taken care of. Brenda now knows that the package is
from Jax, since he's the only person she knows who tips in advance. The
return address is from an auction house and Brenda and Jax play 20
questions about the contents. She tears open the package and pulls out
a genie's lamp. Brenda thinks they made a mistake, but Jax assures her
it's correct. Brenda looks it over trying to figure out exactly what it
is. She finally describes it as a "rare, priceless, thing," but Jax
informs her "it's magic."

With that hint from Jax, Brenda figures out that it's a magic lamp. Jax
assures her that it will make your wishes come true. Brenda is
skeptical, but Jax assures her that it works almost all of the time,
especially if the wishes are material ones, like for clothes, jewelry or
trips around the world. Brenda asks "what if that's not what I want?"
"It's a flexible lamp," Jax replies. Jax asks what she wants, and after
a moment, Brenda closes her eyes and rubs the lamp. She opens her eyes
and says "it didn't work." "Of course it did," replies Jax, and he asks
her if she can feel the magic in the room.

Jax is still waiting to hear Brenda's wish. She tells him she already
made it, but he tells her that she has to say it out loud. Brenda
disagrees telling him that you make the wish to yourself, rub the lamp,
and they your get your wish. Brenda tells him that he bought a
defective lamp. Jax disagrees saying that the lamp probably just needs
a little help - a hint. Brenda decides to play along and gives him a
hint. She tells him "I wish for something that I'll have forever, but
never hold. It's as bright as the sun, as pale as the moon, and it
vanishes quickly but it's never gone." Jax has no idea what this means,
and Brenda gives him another hint by asking him if his mother ever read
him fairy tales. Jax tells her that Lady Jane wasn't exactly the fairy
tale type, unless it was Arabian Nights and Swiss Family Robinson.
Brenda tells him about her Nanny that used to tell her fairy tales. Jax
tells her that now she has a magic lamp all her own, but Brenda still
insists that it doesn't work. Jax decides that he will have to help the
lamp and tells her that they're leaving to go find her wish.

Jax and Brenda arrive at The Outback and run into Jason and Robin. Jax
was hoping Robin would be there. When Brenda wonders why, he says that
since she's her best friend, she would be able to tell him Brenda's
heart's desire. Jax asks for five minutes of Robin's time. She tells
them to go in and find a table and she'll be right in.

Robin comes over to their table, and Jax asks her to tell him about
Brenda's heart's desire. Robin doesn't exactly understand what's going
on and Jax explains about the magic lamp and Brenda's wish. He tells
her it didn't make much sense to him and wonders if Robin could
translate it. Robin says she'll try and Jax repeats piece of the fairy
tale Brenda gave him as a hint. Robin immediately figures it out and
thinks it's very romantic. "What?" Jax wants to know, and Robin tells
him "it's a day with her prince." Robin doesn't remember the name of
the fairy tale and tell Jax the story. Robin excuses herself and goes
back to work.

Jax and Brenda have lunch, and he asks what she wants to do for the rest
of her magic day. Brenda tells him that he can decide. He asks, "how
about flying lessons?" Brenda says that's perfect and asks what plane
is at the airport.

Jax is at the table alone and is talking on his cel phone. He is
telling the person on the other end that there's an ELQ Board Meeting
tomorrow night, and he'll call them when it's over. He hangs up and
goes over to the bar where Brenda is with Robin and Mike.

* We Just Have to be Discreet
Dr. Dorman and Monica are talking at the 2nd floor Nurses Station. He
had left messages for Monica yesterday and thought he'd hear from her,
but didn't. She apologizes and tells him that "things are a bit
complicated." Dorman uses that as a reason to suggest that they get
away. He asks her what she thinks about country inns. Monica replies
that she loves them. Dorman tells her that he has a favorite one about
an hour from Port Charles and says they can leave tonight. Monica says
she can't go tonight. She further suggests that they end their
relationship completely.

Dorman and Monica move to the lounge area. Dorman doesn't see why they
can't continue their relationship, but Monica tells him there are other
people to consider, specifically Emily. Monica goes on that after
everything Emily's been through she needs the stability of a family and
Dorman could be a threat to that if Emily found out about them. Dorman
insists that they can continue to be discreet.

Alan and Monica run into each other at the Nurses Station. She is
surprised to hear that he's going ahead with the laser surgery on his
hand, especially with his new role as acting Chief of Staff and the
current situation at the hospital. Alan tells her that it's his
decision to make. Monica just asks him to first discuss it with Emily.
Alan inquires as to how she is, and Monica tells him that she misses
him. He tells her he'll come over early prior to the ELQ Board Meeting
and spend some time with her. Dorman overhears the conversation about
Emily and comes up to Alan after Monica leaves. He wants to talk to
Alan about the surgery, but now Alan tells him that he's not sure about
having the surgery at this time. They leave continuing their
discussion.

Later Monica and Dorman are talking in the hallway. She knows it's not
right but she asks anyway if Alan postponed the surgery. Dorman says he
didn't, in fact they were talking about post-op care. They talk about
the hospital needing a leader and Dorman agrees, but says it's not Alan.
He thinks that Monica should be in charge.

* I Thought You Resigned
Audrey arrives at the hospital and runs into Tom and Felicia. She tells
them that she came to pack up Steve's office unless Tom has already done
that. He says he hasn't since he's been with patients all morning.
Audrey finds this curious since she thought Tom had resigned.

Tom tells her that Alan asked him to stay on, at least until everything
gets settled. Audrey, a bit disappointed, says that it was nice of him
to make the sacrifice for Alan. Tom tells her that General Hospital is
important to him, just as it was to his father. Audrey is just grateful
that Steve didn't see Tom's resignation letter. She excuses herself and
goes off to Steve's office. Tom looks shaken and why his mother, who
loves him, deliberately acted that way toward him.

Later in the day, Felicia meets Audrey in the hallway. Felicia asks if
they could talk for a few minutes. Felicia tells her that even if he
doesn't show it, Tom really is mourning Steve. She continues saying
that Tom is questioning if Steve really loved him, and Audrey assures
her that he did. Audrey tells her that she kept hoping that they'd work
things out. Felicia asks Audrey to assure Tom once again that Steve
really did love him.

Felicia leaves and Tom comes by and sits down with Audrey. She tells
him that Steve really did love him. Tom thinks he was a disappointment,
and Audrey tells him that Steve mostly wanted his happiness. Tom
volunteers to finish packing up the office, but Audrey asks if they
could do it together. Tom agrees and they head back to the office.

* Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Sonny is sitting at one of the tables outside The Outback having a
drink. Robin comes out to see him. Robin comments that he's becoming a
regular around The Outback and asks if Jason is coming. Sonny tells her
Jason had some business to take care of, further adding that it isn't
his business - Ned asked to see him. Sonny tells Robin that he told
Jason to find another job because he thinks there might be trouble with
the Feds. He doesn't want to involve Jason is that happens. Robin is
concerned about Sonny and wonders if he'll go to prison. Sonny assures
her that he isn't going to prison.

Jason arrives at the gatehouse to see Ned. Ned tells him about the
stock he has in ELQ, 12% in total sitting in trust. Jason says he
doesn't want any part of the Quartermaine's. Ned tells him that's not
the point. The point is that the stock is yours, but Edward controls
the trust. Ned tells him that he believes Edward is going to attempt to
remove him as CEO. Jason still doesn't understand where the discussion
is going. Ned explains that Jason can petition to break the trust, Ned
as CEO can approve it, and then the shares become Jason's to vote or
sell as he chooses. All Ned asks in return is that Jason vote with him.
Jason questions Ned about dividends, taxes, the IRS trying to
understand the entire situation. Jason agrees to the deal, and Ned
gives him the information. They both take pleasure in the fact that
Edward is going to "hate this."

Back at The Outback, Robin and Sonny continue their discussion about
Jason working for Sonny. Sonny asks her to convince Jason to walk away,
but she says she tried before with no luck. Mike arrives and wants to
sit with Sonny. Sonny doesn't seem to care and Robin excuses herself
to go back to work. Mike noticed that Robin looked upset and asks Sonny
what's going on. Sonny tells him that she's worried about Jason. When
Mike asks if she should be, Sonny replies "he works for me. What do you
think?" Sonny goes on saying he's a gangster and in that life there are
substantial risks and when you fall, you fall hard. "Sooner or later"
he says, "everybody pays."

Mike tries to tell Sonny not to destroy himself over something that
wasn't his fault. He tells him he did it when Stone died also. He kept
looking for a punishment that never came. Sonny assures him that the
punishment came the night Lily died instead of Sonny. Mike asks Sonny
what he's going to make right by beating himself up. Sonny tells him to
forget about it, but Mike tells him that he can't. He goes on that he's
been on the receiving end of Sonny's anger, and he wouldn't wish it on
anyone, least of all Sonny. Mike starts to say that Sonny's "paid
enough already, and if Lily where here", but gets cut off at this point
by Sonny who tells him that if he says her name again, he'll kill him.
Mike gives up and gets up to leave. Sonny then says he's sorry and "I
didn't mean to do that." Mike turns around and comes back to the table
and sits down. Mike says it's okay, that guilt and retribution aren't
exactly his favorite subjects. "Besides, like the man said," continues
Mike, "the only place that life has order is at the", and they both say
"ballpark." Mike is surprised that Sonny remembers that. They were at
Yankee stadium and Sonny was seven years old. Mike remembers that Sonny
caught a foul ball. Mike says he's going to go to a game tonight and
invites Sonny to come. Sonny accepts the invitation.

Mike and Sonny move inside The Outback. Mike is going on and on about
going to the game tonight. He wants to get there early to see the
warm-up, because the warm-up shows everything. Jason arrives at The
Outback and greets Robin. Once again Robin tries to convince him to
leave Sonny before he's arrested. He tells her she doesn't have to
worry about it, he's found another way out. It's complicated but it's
going to work. He has to go explain it to Sonny, and he asks Robin to
trust him. They go inside. Mike is still talking baseball, and Jason
asks to see Sonny outside.

Mike asks Robin what's going on outside, but she doesn't know. He
wonders what's with Sonny since he agreed to go to a baseball game with
him. Apparently Jason told Sonny about his plan to sell Sonny his
shares of ELQ stock. Sonny asks if Jason knows how much 12% of ELQ
stock is worth, and Jason replies "$60 million." However Jason can sell
the stock for whatever he wants. Sonny tells him he's got $4 million
and Jason says "it's perfect." Sonny tells him that he can't do it; he
can't take away his inheritance. Jason says that he doesn't want the
stock. Sonny is his friend, and he's not going to let him die. Sonny
continues to turn down Jason's offer of stock. Jason asks him once
again to accept his offer.
