From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday July 11 Date: Thu, 18 Jul 1996 03:31:27 GMT STEPHAN PULLS THE STRINGS Luke is looking in the window at Lulu and a thoroughly wrapped up Laura. When Laura comes out, Luke tells her "I wish I had good news." Laura tells him "I do, they found a donor." Luke is delighted. Simone comes out and explains they're using high doses of chemotherapy to kill Lulu's immune system. Bobbie thinks maybe the donor is her daughter. Later, when talking to Luke, she finds out Caroline was raised by a single mother and breaks down. Luke says that Virginia was better able to take care of Caroline than a 16-yr-old would have been. He tells her that three years ago Caroline left Ft. Meyers owing money, which by Spencer logic is a GOOD thing, she's a survivor. A true Spencer. Later Bobbie talks to Laura, and thinks maybe the donor in Switzerland could be her daughter. It's hard to forget you have a child (Laura says "I know", and we can hear her intensity.) In Switzerland, Stephan says to a resting person on a bed: "Well done. Thanks to you. She'll never be able to repay this debt. I'm betting she'll try." EDWARD PULLS THE STRINGS At L&B, a subdued Ned comes in while Lois is bubbling on the phone. The Idle Rich has been signed to play Liberty Hall in Boston. Ned is still down, it's Edward. He seems to be pushing Ned out the door. Ned is, naturally, suspicious, but Lois thinks "The old coot might have mellowed." She figures Ned is nervous, that this is stage fright. They discuss the baby and jobs. Then Edward calls for Ned and orders him to come to the Big House right away. Previously, Edward had asked Justus to vet the Singapore contract, and seems quite pleased when Justus finds that Paragraph #13 is a problem. Justus has his dinner date with Dara, and tells her he's quitting trial law. She figures it's a fear of success, and they change the subject to her singing. She won't be satisfied if she's not the Best. Justus thinks you should follow your dreams, MaryMae always said if you didn't, they would choke you. Edward calls Justus back to the Big House. Dara comes along and tells Lois yes, sorta, maybe she'll kind of consider considering it. Edward shows Ned Paragraph #13. Justus fixes it and Edward smiles wolfishly and tells Ned "You go on -- sing your heart out if that's what you want to do." Ned goes back to the gatehouse and backs out of the singing trip. Lila tells a humming Edward "You can tell me what it is you're up to! ... You're promoting dissention, aren't you? Pitting grandson against grandson. That makes me Very Cross!" She tells him he's punishing Ned for his independence. She also warns him that she doesn't think Justus will be any easier to control, and someone will get hurt. Remember Tracy! THE STALKER PULLS THE STRINGS Felicia is in a dark apartment with lightning and thunder outside. She opens the blinds so Tom can lurk more comfortably. She thinks about the upsetting incidents of the past few weeks, and finds a candle. Hearing a noise, she grabs a flashlight and clobbers Tom, and serve him right, too. He claims he was calling out to her. They sit on the couch. It's only her place that's dark. He thinks she should leave town, let him and Mac handle this. She'll go to Texas. We are spared any more bunny-scenes. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, member of SESIDAR Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional. jyarnot@netcom.com Putting the fun in "dysfunctional." I survived my daughter's wedding! (Best to you, M&M!)
