General Hospital

Update Tuesday July 9, 1996

(I’ve changed the format a little because I usually watch the episode
before writing things down so I’m not going to go scene by scene
directly but more indirectly…anyway you’ll see.  The info is still the
same just typed a little differently to make it easier to write down.)

Lois is sitting at her desk playing Eddie’s music really loud.  Ned
comes down and they talk about his concert and "operation sign Dara
Jenson".  Just then Dara knocks.

Edward call the whole family together to announce that AJ will be the
new council member.  The family is stunned and speechless for once in
their lives (Reginald was even there).  EQ reminds everyone that he will
expect *everyone* to support AJ on this.

Felicia and Mac are at the park trying to recreate the how and where the
pictures were taken.  Ish mentions that she can’t calm down because
there is a "seriously imbalanced person out there and he’s stalking me".
 (no kidding…I know it looks like its Tom but as I said before I will be
majorly pissed if it is)

Tom is reading a paper at the hospital, gets angry, and crumples it up.
 Kevin asks him about the "murdered paper" and finds out that he,
Monica, and Dorman (isn’t it funny how we never call him by his first
name) have all been chosen to sit on the hospital HMO committee and Tom
was not.  Tom gets angry and Kevin suggests Father and Son therapy which
Tom laughs at.  Kevin suggests that there has to be another forum except
the hospital where they can hash out their problems.  Kevin mentions
that he’s going to the outback to help Ish about some picture.

Ish comments that the pictures were taken long before they knew someone
was stalking her and they both look concerned and go back to the Outback

The Q’s are in shock.  They start asking a whole bunch of questions but
no real support for AJ…which AJ thanks them for.  Alan comments that he
can’t expect another reaction since they have had no warning but that he
truly wishes him luck.  AJ says that if you had been paying attention
during the campaign you would have known.  He takes the speech that EQ
has paid for and leaves saying he will review it.  After AJ leaves EQ
assures everyone that the council had been taken care of.

Dara returns the CD’s she borrowed and Ned leaves the two girls alone.
Lois goes into full selling mode but Dara graciously declines.  As she
is about to leave Lois plays a tape of her singing at the Ball.  Dara is
very very very impressed but still declines.

Alan & Monica discuss their children.  Ned walks in to find out that EQ
has actually bought the seat and he isn’t that pleased that EQ makes it
seem that Justus changed his mind.  They rehash the same old AJ
song…he’s a good for nothing….no he’s not just give him a chance…  Then
they move into ELQ business for Ned to find out that EQ and Justus
postponed a meeting that Ned set up months ago.  Then EQ asks for comp
tickets for one of Neds upcoming concerts.  Ned leaves and the rest of
family minus Alan wait to watch the speech.

Lois leaves Bren a message about Dara.  Ned walks in a lot worse for
wear.

Ish at the Outback tries to recreate the circumstances of the picture
only to find out that her stalker left a surprise…an picture of an eye
saying I’m watching you…were the camera would have been.  Tom comes in
right on cue, notices that Ish is upset, and they go off to talk.  While
Mac asks Kevin for a guess into what kind of person is this.  Kevin says
someone who wants control of someone’s life because they have no control
over their own.

Kiesha and Justus give AJ a pep talk and then he goes in for his
speech….. AJ speaks from the hear not the paid speech and gives an
analogy of a man walking a tight rope but in the end having a safety
net…that is what the Q’s have always been but no more…he’s here to
represent the community not the Q’s.

Ned tell Lois about AJ and the meeting being canceled.  They discuss
EQ’s motives for practically pushing Ned out the ELQ door.  That he is
so manipulative when Ned mentioned that Lois didn’t mind using a little
manipulation when it suited her purposes…like the tape with Dara…and
then says those fateful words… "I married my grandfather".  Needless to
say Lois isn’t pleased and walks upstairs.

Keisha and AJ discuss the speech, their future, and that no Q has ever
been in politics.  (This is a great scene because it was so real…almost
like it was two young adults talking for real and not script…very well
done in my opinion)

Alan gushes over AJ’s speech to a nurse.  Dorman comes over and tells
Alan, as the nurse leaves, that they can go ahead with the surgery.
Alan says fine but do it blind he doesn’t want anyone to know.  As Alan
leaves Monica sees the x-rays and asks Dorman if he’s having
surgery…Dorman claims doctor patient privilege.

Tom ask Ish about going on vacation but she declines she doesn’t want
this guy to control her like that.

Mac gets a call that Ish’s mail is going to a PO box but they don’t know
who’s

Dara runs into Justus at the courthouse and reminds him of the bet they
had.  They make dinner plans for the next evening.

Monica and Alan discuss AJ’s speech, how he got the job and of course
they start about Jason. (Here Alan starts talking loudly and Monica
shushes him…very natural)  She asks why he blames everyone, especially
her, for Jason but doesn’t blame himself.  And that no one could accept
Jason or love him for who he is not who he was
A- I could
M - Oh really…then why does he have as little use for you as he does for
me
A - speechless
M - no answer, my how refreshing…and leaves

Ned apologizes to Lois up the stairs.  She comes down and says that
there is a big difference between them… EQ never admits he’s wrong…she
does grudgingly but she does.  Ned says their another big difference he
doesn’t look fabulous with a big belly

Mac is leaving with Kevin when Kevin mentions that isn’t is strange all
these pictures of Ish with men but none with Tom.
