From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday July 4 Date: Wed, 10 Jul 1996 13:54:37 GMT FOURTH OF JULY UPDATE Apart from the Lulu story, I'm going to do this one a little differently, more stream-of-consciousness. I agree with Julia that this Fourth didn't have the pizazz of the last few, but remember, it doesn't have Doc Steve, either. I still think the writing has been better the last couple of weeks, and still have hope that GH is getting back on track. LESLIE LOU HOLDS HER OWN Luke, watching the baby, tells Bobbie that he's ready to tear GH down. They discuss Bobbie's daughter. Luke calls Sonny to ask for help in finding Peyser. The Mystery Man is told "there's still no match for the little girl" and comments "good." [OK, I hate him.] Lucky brings a book about a dancing Lulu [anyone have a title for this one, it sounded great] and reads it to Lulu while Laura keeps trying her mysterious phone calls. (Since Lucky didn't match, how come both the Mystery Man and Laura seem to be certain that they have the cure?) Bobbie brings by deli food from Eli's and invites Lucky to the Brownstone to watch the fireworks from the roof. Laura and Lucky talk and she says "I'm not going to lose ANY of my children." [not "either": we think this is a clue!] The Mystery Man says: "She's ready. Fuel the jet." HOLIDAY FUN At the Outback Mac says hi to a slightly depressed Felicia, and tells her he's closed the bar, she should join them at the park. The phone rings. "I'm watching you." It turns out to be Tom, playing silly games, and Mac doesn't think it's funny. Carly kisses Jason. "Thank you for the fireworks." She's upset that he never asks her to stay, and he points out they were her rules. There's a knock at the door: it's Robin. Carly hides. Robin has to go to the picnic with Uncle Mac instead of "riding out to the ocean" which they'll do tomorrow. She wants him to come to the park. After she leaves, Carly comes out laughing, but Jason tells her to shut up about Robin. She asks "Are you antisocial or did someone drop you on your head?" Mac and Katherine set up at the park. Katherine plans to drive Lucy crazy by "not letting her get to me." Meanwhile, Kevin and Lucy are discussing Katherine and Lucy promises to try to behave. Kevin reminds Lucy that she's the winner about Brenda. The four sit together and polite sniping commences, but Robin comes along and rescues them. They talk about Jason, and Carly eavesdrops. They also discuss Kevin as a professor. Then they see Carly and bring her over, discussing the Nurses' Ball. Carly asks about Jason, then leaves. Keesha and AJ discuss the City Council job. He will be the perfect politician, she says, except for one thing. He doesn't have a secret. Kevin tells about his class. Mac and Katherine go for ice cream, but Lucy suggests maybe Katherine doesn't need the extra calories. Carly catches the Stone-Clone's volleyball. Then she catches sight of Jason, who has just come in. Both she and Robin greet him at the same time. Robin asks if they know each other, and Jason starts with "I guess..." but Carly says no, she just had seen him at the Nurses' Ball. Jason asks Robin if she and Carly are friends. Katherine is annoyed at Lucy's "weight" comment but Mac encourages her. Lucy is annoyed that Kathy is behaving. Tom and Felicia come up. They'll "sit" somewhere else. AJ tells Keesha that his secret is that he's in love with his brother's girl. They kiss. Jason and Robin are sitting together. Behind them, Carly flirts with the Stone-Clone. When Robin leaves to say hi to Tom and Felicia (who haven't gotten as secluded as they would like, apparently) Jason drags Carly over and cusses her out. Robin asks Felicia about Lulu and says there was no point in her getting tested, but "she made Jason do it." Tom comes back with ice cream and Robin leaves. Mac, Katherine, Kevin, and Lucy discuss Sonny and the pianocide. AJ and Jason see each other. AJ says he likes the new Jason. He envies his ability to walk away. He can't do that. He claims he's staying because he cares for the Qs. Tom and Felicia discuss the Fourth. Tom prefers anticipation to the payoff. Robin brings Jason ice cream. They decide to leave before the Quartermaines come. They pass the foursome (Mac and group). Carly is left alone, all alone. AJ tells Keesha that Jason said "good luck!" They talk about Jason being a reality check. The fireworks start. We see couples: AJ and Keesha. Tom and Felicia. Mac and Katherine. Kevin and Lucy. Carly alone, huddled in a blanket, all alone. Jason and Robin are on the bridge. -- Jan Yarnot, net.granny, RABbabe, Mother of the Bride, member of SESIDAR Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional. jyarnot@netcom.com Putting the fun in "dysfunctional."
