Wednesday, June 26, 1996

* Alan and Monica - The Fight Continues *
Monica enters the Quartermaine Den with a snack tray.  She goes over to
the desk and looks through the mail.  One letter gets her attention and
she holds it close to her.  Alan comes in and tells her he just found
out that Jason's employer is Sonny.  He adds that he doesn't know who's
to blame for that, AJ or Monica.

Alan and Monica have yet another fight about Jason.  Monica hands him
the letter.  It was for Jason from an Environmental group that he used
to care about.  Monica tells him she would have liked to share her grief
about Jason with him, but she can't.  She goes on to say that if anyone
had been listening to them they would wonder why those two people are
together.  Alan replies that he's been asking himself the same thing,
hasn't she.

Monica says that she has wondered why they bothered.  Alan suggest that
they did it for the children.  He says that obviously they need a third
person to keep them together.  Alan wonders if they should call it
quits.  Each asks if that's what the other wants.  She then leaves to go
back to the hospital.

Lila is in the Den watching the news about Justus.  Alan comes in and
she tells him that Justus gave up his counsel seat.  Alan tells Lila
that he had great plans to be a surgeon, but it hasn't worked out the
way he planned.  He tells her about the new surgery that could reverse
the damage on his hand.  He tells her all of the things he would need to
do to get back into surgery and says that he thinks he's decided to try
it.  He couldn't live with himself if he had the chance and didn't take
it.  Lila wishes him well.

At the hospital, Monica explodes at a couple of residents.  Dr. Dorman
notices and later the two of them are walking in the park at midnight.
Dorman make a paper boat out of a requisition form and floats it in the
fountain.  He tells Monica that he has a sailboat and invites her out on
it.  He dares her  to prove that she can be spontaneous and they both
wind up in the fountain without their shoes.  Dorman compliments her
smile and laugh.  He tells her he hopes that one day she forgets about
doing what people expect and starts doing what makes her happy.

* Where's Justus *
AJ and Keisha are taking a walk in the park discussion the potential
outcome of Justus' election.  Neither of them can understand what was
going on with Justus, specifically why he was nowhere to be found.

AJ asks Keisha if Jason rescuing Robin at the Nurses Ball bothered her.
 He tells her that he realizes that her feelings for Jason may not be
totally resolved yet.  Keisha tells him that she wasn't upset, just
affected.  At that moment Jason seemed like the old Jason to her.  She
was glad to see Jason care about someone, but she was happy to be at the
Ball with AJ.  She's put the past behind her and is totally focused on
the future.  That makes AJ very happy and they kiss.

At the hospital, Simone discusses Lesley Lu's latest blood tests with
Luke and Laura.  Since her white blood cell count hasn't dropped any
they are going to take her out of isolation.  Both Luke and Simone gang
up on Laura to get her to get some rest.  Laura doesn't want to leave
her daughter.  Luke finally convinces her to go home since Bobbie is
staying with Lesley Lu.  Laura wants to go by the club to see what's
happening with the election.  Luke, however, is not interested in doing
that and wonders why Laura is thinking about Justus at a time like this.

Laura can't understand Luke's attitude.  Laura asks him about it, but
Luke just says that they're having a crisis and why think about Justus.
 She explains to him that Justus is a friend and she needs a diversion.
 She needs a little hope and to see that the good guys can win.  Luke
says that he didn't like the fact that Justus took off and left everyone
else to do his work.  Luke finally agrees to stop by the club for a
minute, then they will go home.

Over at Luke's Mike declares the bar officially open since the polls are
closed.  Tom and Felicia are there having drinks.  Tom tells Felicia
that his father is back in town and he just saw him.  Apparently it
didn't go very well.  Edward, Lois, and Ned arrive at Luke's.  Edward
notices that the place is empty and wonders where Justus is.  Ned and
Lois go sit at a table while Edward calls AJ to see why he's not there.
 The next arrivals are Kathy and Mac.  Mac sees Felicia and leaves Kathy
to go over and talk to her.  He tells her and Tom that it looks like
Willis will be spending quite a while in jail.  Tom picks up on the fact
that Mac said "looks like", but Mac tells him he's just being cautious.

Dara has shown up at Luke's and says to Mike how odd it is that Justus
is a no-show.  Mike puts on the television to get the election results,
but they're not in yet.  Ned and Lois discuss Edward's attitude toward
Justus.  Ned thinks that Edward has found a new pawn for his chess game.

Kathy thinks that the job is taking it's toll on Mac and suggests they
go away for a few days.

AJ and Keisha arrive at Luke's, and Edward starts questioning him as to
why he's late.  AJ tells him everything is under control, but they all
wonder if Justus will show up.  Simone arrives and asks Keisha where
Justus is.  Nobody has seen him and everybody wonders where he is.

AJ makes a welcoming statement to the press.  They all wonder where
Justus is and AJ covers by saying that he was called out of town on
urgent business.  The election results come in and Justus has retained
he counsel seat.  At that moment Justus comes in.  Edward is speaking to
the press and finally notices that Justus has arrived.  Luke and Laura
arrive.  AJ tries to cover Justus' inability to talk by saying that he
can't really speak about the business he was on.  All Justus can do is
look at Luke and Laura.  finally he speaks.  He thanks the people who
voted for them and thanks his friends and family for their support.
However, he can't accept the counsel seat at this point in his life.

After Justus' announcement, Luke and Laura leave.  Simone stops Justus
from leaving and AJ wants to do damage control.  Justus suggests that AJ
take the counsel seat.  Edward takes Justus to talk to him in private.

When Justus assures him that he won't change his mind about the counsel
seat, Edward offers him the job of ELQ counsel.  Ned overhears.  Justus
says why not; he'll just throw in the towel and become a Quartermaine
all the way.  Edward tells him he's already there.

* Can Tom and Felicia Act Like Mature Adults *
Tom is leaving tomorrow for a conference in San Francisco.  He invites
Felicia to join him, but she declines since the girls will be home soon.
 Tom says he needs to go home and pack and work on his presentation.
Felicia comments that that would be the adult thing to do.  The two
leave.

Back at Felicia's apartment, Tom and Felicia attempt to act like mature
adults.  He really should leave to go pack, but starts kissing Felicia
and starts unbuttoning her blouse.  Felicia wonders what happened to the
mature adult attitude and asks about his presentation.  Tom says he'll
do it on the plane and that he's regressing, and Felicia appears not to
mind at all.  They start kissing and drop out of camera view.

Later Tom finally leaves.  Felicia is putting lotion on her legs and Tom
is around back, looking in the window at her.
