Daily Updates
From: joviant@ix.netcom.com(John W. Vogt ) Subject: GH: Update, Mon. June 17 Date: 20 Jun 1996 14:33:13 GMT X-NETCOM-Date: Thu Jun 20 9:33:13 AM CDT 1996 Today wasn't such a bad day in Port Chuck. And, biased that I am, will post a little on the things I didn't like, and a lot on the things I did. ;-) This is my first update, so feedback would be appreciated. -------------------------------------------------------------- "I'm in training." -Lois Cerrullo Ashton "I'm in training" is what Lois told Ned when he came downstairs wondering what in creation Lois was doing up in the middle of the night. Lois also went on to show Ned her plans for Brook-Lynn's soundproof crib. Lois later goes on to make more plans for the future. She informs Ned that her ma, Gloria, will be coming to stay for a few months. Lois continues on about how much work she has to do regarding L&B. A mention of Miguel's possible (no no no) return was made as he needs to record his next album. Later on, Monica stops by and sadly reveals that she and Emily had a talk regarding Paige, Emily's mother and Monica's best friend. Today marked the one year anniversary of Paige's death. Monica lamented on how much she misses Paige and how much Emily does too. A sweet scene between Ned and Lois and Monica proving that love really can exist in the Q family. "You know somehow I feel like I just got hit by a gorgeous tornadoe." --Ned Ashton ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dr. Dorman, we have a patient with acute abdominal pain. Could you take a look?" --Amy Vining, RN A bum stumbles into the ER. He claims he is in horrible pain. Dorman agrees, although very agitated, to look at the man. He pokes and prods the man in the stomach and asks, "Where'd you have dinner, the dumpster?" Dorman continues to diagnose the bum with "nothing" and tells Amy to "Give him a candy bar and get him out of here." Nearby, Alan Quartermaine is watching this whole episode. He walks right over to Dorman and hits him with, "You just diagnosed that mans wallet, not his body." Dorman replies, "Not true, Alan. Just a simple case of food poisoning." Alan continues, "If he'd been wearing designer loafers you'd be with him right now running every test in the book." Dorman leaves Alan but before he gets out of the room, Monica enters. They chat a bit about music Dorman had playing while he was operating and how much Monica enjoyed it. Dorman promises her a tape and they end their exchange. Monica approaches Alan and he tells her of Lesley Lu's illness. He also tells her something happened with Dorman, but that he would inform her of Dr. D's behavior over breakfast. A few scenes later, the bum doubles over in front of Alan. Dr. Q goes on to diagnose an appendicitis and orders an appendectomy. Right then and very abruptly, Dorman comes in and takes over saying he would do the surgery. Dorman removes the appendix and Alan compliments him on his good work. Dorman exits and Alan tells everyone that it's time to get this room cleaned up. He picks up a surgical instrument and tries to put it in the cabinet. Pulling the cabinet door, Alan finds he can't get it open. Frustrated, he thrusts his hand through the glass to put the instrument inside and almost looks horrified to see his hand all cut by the glass. Tony and Alan chat, as Tony tends to Alan's hand several scenes later. They had an interesting exchange: Alan: I hated watching Dorman do that appendectomy. Just reminds me... Tony: Reminds you of what? Alan: Nothing. Tony goes on to tell Alan that there is a surgical procedure that could fix Alan's hand and his old damage to it. He adds that Dorman is the one man at GH who knows how to do the surgery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "What are the odds that it's Leukemia?" --Luke Spencer Lesley Lu's fever continues to rise. There is mention by Simone that a rising fever indicates a blood issue. Simone and Laura add they fear LuLu having a seizure. Later, Bobbie has Luke and Laura sign for Leslie's private room, which only adds to the tension as Luke and Laura are told that the doctors "still aren't sure" what is wrong with LuLu but that a private room would keep other germs away from her. Lucky enters at the end of this discussion and hears Luke mention Leukemia. Lucky goes to bond with LuLu, while Luke and Laura watch. LuLu sneezed several times and then got a nosebleed. Luke and Laura get very worried and call Simone. Later, Simone reports that the baby's white cell count is low and Leukemia usually is accompanied by a high white cell count. Leukemia is not totally ruled out yet, however. Simone wants to two more tests and when Luke and Laura question what those tests are, Simone reveals she wants to perform a "bone marrow aspiration and a biopsy." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mac: I was just trying to imagine what it would be like if we were expecting. Kath: .... A baby?? Mac: Don't get me wrong-- We'd be married of course. Mac and Katybell talk marriage. The scene opens with a chipper Katherine coming up to Mac and asking him what he's thinking about. They exchange (listed above) thoughts (or at least Mac does)and Katherine is a taken off guard. Mac asks Katherine how she feels about babies. Katherine replies, "They're small..." and several other things. She goes on to explain she isn't really ready to be a mother, and maybe not even a wife. After he explanation, Mac sweetly states, "OK. It was only a question." Katherine tells him she reserves the right to change her mind at any time and they kiss. A few scenes later she asks, "So, exactly how would we partake in this parenthood project?" They kiss again and Mac takes off his shirt. We can assume the rest, although it was not aired (thank God) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Please stay. I really want to be with you." --Brenda Barrett Jacks Brenda comes home from Sonny's. It's pretty late at night. She tiptoes in and finds Jax is up and waiting for her, ship in hand and all. He mentions the time and says he is going to bed. She stops him, "Please stay. I really want to be with you." They sit and Brenda starts to cry and talk about her relationship with Lily. She thinks back to the beginning when she and Lily were friends. "Death is so weird--I don't get it--it's so final, you know? There's no chance for resolution." Jax interjects, "Why do I get the feeling we're not talking about Lily anymore?" Brenda tearfully replies, "For some reason I just keep thinking about my Father." Brenda continues on about her Father. She admits to Jax that her father never loved her and just barely managed to put up with her. A very emotional Brenda reflects on being sent to boarding school. They comment on Brenda being both "emotionally cut off" and her cutting off Harland emotionally, as well. Jax persuades, "You're alive Brenda. You're full of fire and passion. Allow yourself to feel, whatever it is." She whispers, "No one ever told me it was OK." He says, "Well, I'm telling you now." Brenda and Jax kiss and make love. The next scene is of Jax holding Brenda. She asks him why he hasn't questioned her about what went on at Sonny's earlier. Jax answers, "I trust you, it's as simple as that-- probably more than you trust yourself." Brenda looks a little teary eyed. She looks up and says, " There you go again...Something else no one's ever said to me." Brenda pauses and continues, "Don't I have to earn your trust or prove my loyalty somehow or pass some kind of test?" Jax firmly replies, "No. You have nothing to prove to me-- *Nothing*" Brenda sighs and says, "This is all *so* new to me...It's really new." She adds how incredibly generous it was of Jax to let her go to Sonny's that night in the first place. She comments that she doesn't know if she would have been able to do something like that. They chat a little more and end the conversation with a kiss. --Star FGC Brenda, Keeper of Brenda's Impassioned Spirit FGC Jax, Keeper of the Shiny Gold Wedding Band FGC Lily, Keeper of the Baby Seat and Plane Ticket BACK to PC FGC L&B Records, Dir. of Business Affairs Member, TAFKAS Alpha Delta Pi, Univ. of Florida, Home of the Fightin' Gators!
