Date: Mon, 17 Jun 1996 17:44:48 CDT From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 06/14/96 The General Hospital Update for Friday, June 14, 1996 Written By: kathy@gundog.lbl.gov (Kathy Ellington) ================================================================= So, is "Luke" short for "leukemia" or what?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In the Spencer house, Luke and Laura try to get back to normal after her acquittal. Lucky whizzes in and hits the old man up for some money for a date with a girl named Jamie [where in the hell is Emily??]. Luke parts with $40 and give his some dating advice [like don't rape her on the dance floor of a deserted disco on the first date?]. Then Laura and Lucky start razzing Luke about his first date, with one of Ruby's "girls" as it turned out! Bobbie arrives for dinner (Tony will follow) and she joins in the fun of ridiculing Big Brother. Then Luke cuts out to pay Sonny a quick visit and Lucky gets ready to leave for his date. Laura and Bobbie talk about Justus' upcoming election and how glad Laura is to get back to work. Bobbie goes up to check on Lesley-Lu who has been taking antibiotics for yet another ear infection. She brings the feverish infant downstairs and tells Laura that the kid isn't responding to the medication; maybe they should take her to GH. They rush Lu to the hospital and Bobbie phones Luke at Sonny's. After running tests on the infant docs Simone and Alan don't like what they see and want to do even more tests. Luke and Laura quiz Bobbie on what the docs are looking for. Bobbie reluctantly admits that they're testing Lu for leukemia. Don't shoot me, I'm only the Piano! or Quiet here...can't you see I'm Emotin'? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At Sonny's penthouse, Jason answers a ring at the door. It's Lois who has come to pay her respects. JasonBorg is reluctant to let her in [stupid ass kid] but Lois gets by him. She sits with Sonny on the couch, where he is holding his head in his hands, and tries to break through the self pity in which the mini-mobster has wrapped himself. After some painfully polite conversation Sonny asks her (nicely) to leave. Then he and Jason talk about "survival" (fast-forwarded here). Luke arrives later on for a short visit. Luke mentions that he knows who killed Damian, "Want him killed?" Sonny asks as a polite mobster host should. Luke declines the offer saying if he wanted that he'd have done it himself. Sonny tells him about going to Puerto Rico to kill Rivera and then, seeing how pathetic the old guy was, leaving the gun so Rivera could kill himself. Luke asks if that's what Sonny is waiting for...some- body to put him out of his misery? Luke rushes off when he gets the phone call from GH about Lesley Lu. Lois tells a long-held secret; Jason and Ned kiss and make up ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lois returns to the gatehouse and tells Ned about her visit to Sonny. She tells him that Sonny has the same vacant-eyed look he had after Deke beat him as a child. Ned was sorry for Sonny but also concerned that Jason was getting mixed up with the teensy tyrant. Later on, Jason shows up at the gatehouse (for no particular reason). Ned apologizes to him for trying to shield his parents from the truth that their oldest son caused the brain damage to their youngest son. Jason accepts the apology; he and Ned shake hands while Lois beams at them from the staircase. I guess the honeymoon's over! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ At the PC Hotel, Jax carries Brenda over the threshold of his lavish suite. They decide to "tell the world" about their marriage. Later on in the day, they breeze into the gatehouse (where Lois and Ned had just been discussing how messed-up Sonny is) and break the news. Ned and Lois are restrained, but happy, for the couple. Brenda wants to know what's wrong and Ned gently tells her about "exploding Lily". Brenda says she's got to go to Sonny and Lois tries to dissuede her. "Please understand" she asks Jax. "Do what you have to" he tells her gently. But after she leaves he looks miserable. Brenda arrives at Sonny's penthouse and tries to talk to the teensy terror about what happened. He ends up by blubbering and snotting all over her shoulder. Meanwhile, Jax sits alone and in the dark of the hotel suite wondering what kind of hanky-panky is going on across town. end end send comments, questions, and flames to kathy@gundog.lbl.gov end end
