From: Training training@atlgr.com Subject: GH: Update Tuesday 6/11 Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 11:36:18 -0700 General Hospital Update Tuesday June 11, 1996 By: Irina Brusilovsky Since I ff through most of the beginning to see the verdict I thought it only right to let you know ahead of time what the verdict is.............NOT GUILTY. Okay, now that the suspense is over on the real update...... Scene 1 Dara is standing in the court room leaning over the jury box. Justice walks in and they chat. He asks her which part is she going over the opening or closing. She asks why do you think its either. He says I thought you were only human. The tension is thick...not between them but you could feel their anxiety. Dara mentions how she won’t like taking Laura from the kids, she’s a good mother and has strong character, but she’s still a murderer. Justice asks how a person with such strong character could commit such an act. Dara explains that even the best people will snap if pushed hard enough and that nobody can claim that they are always on high moral ground. Dara tells him how great it was working with him and how it has been a real pleasure. “You really got my juices flowing” (Okay...was I the only one who picked up a pun in this or is it just my dirty mind at work, sorry but I couldn’t help it...and I think they caught it too because there was a little snicker after that line). As she walk out she ask “Winner buys dinner” and Justice agrees. Scene 2 Lois is at Kelly’s going over some brochures (at the table closest to the door). Bobby walks up, sits down, and they start discussing the merits of baby strollers and how Lois can’t decide. Bobby mentions that all that is important is that the baby is health and the rest is gravy. Lois talks but Bobby zones out and Lois immediately picks up its because of the trail. They discuss Laura and how she is preparing for the worst just in case....and how Ruby thinks that no news is just plain no news Scene 3 Luke and Dave working on the face in the video. (In my opinion anyone with half a brain could have realized the fuzzy picture was Justice) Scene 4 Justice calls Laura...the verdict is in. Laura is a little dazzled as she can’t find Luke’s number but Justice reminds her she has 28 minutes to get there Luke or no Luke. (Justice looked more of a wreck than Laura did) Scene 5 As Dave gets the picture to clear Luke recognizes the face. Luke’s face goes white as he gets a printout of the picture, the tape, and leaves. As Luke leaves we see the picture and its a much clearer picture of Justice. Laura calls just as Luke leaves. Scene 6 Edward comes in out of breath into the court lobby. Justice and Edward go at it again about the case, he’s not to blame, Damien was scum, blah blah.... Justice tells Edward there will be no appeal if the verdict is guilty he will confess...that is why he asked Kiesha and Simone not to come to court..so they wouldn’t have to see him confess. Scene 7 Bobby and Lois are now discussing the schedule that Lois has made for when the baby is born. How she will manage work and the baby. Bobby tells her that baby’s have a way or changing your schedule not the other way around. They chat about motherhood and how its really instinctive. Ned is walking into Kelly’s...Lois says she thinks she’ll be good except she’s not sure about “the nest of liars and thieves she’s married herself into” and how she’s not sure she wants to expose her family to them” Scene 8 Dorman and Tony argue about a patient that Dorman didn’t see today. He makes some excuse and Tony calls him on it...the patient wasn’t rich and therefor he couldn’t afford your exorbitantly high fee’s. Dorman reminds him that he’s the one pushing for an HMO and that they are the way of the future. Tony says we’ll see but in the meantime if he wants to continue working at GH he better “treat all the patients rich and poor...capish” Carly is cleverly watching all of this. Monica walks in as Tony leaves and asks what she missed. Dorman plays it off and they discuss lunch. Dorman suggests Kelly’s but Monica mentions that its a bit far (huh? I think I really need a map of this place as it seems like locations change daily) how about the cafeteria. Dorman finally convinces her of Kelly’s with his top down convertible and new CD’s. Again you see Carly snooping in the background. Scene 9 Laura and Bobbie arrive in the courthouse. Bobbie goes to try to find Luke at Luke’s. Justice tries to tell Laura something but she cuts him off saying that no matter what happens she won’t blame him...its not his fault...he did the best he could...that he shouldn’t feel responsible if the verdict is guilty. They go into the courtroom. (You can really see Justices inward struggle through all of this...his facial expressions are that of a man who knows he’s wrong but can’t find a way out without making it worse...he looks on the verge of tears at all times) Scene 10 Ned tells Lois she can’t change something’s and that this child is a Q weather she likes it or not. He tells her the Q’s aren’t as bad as she makes them. Ned tells her to relax, to enjoy the pregnancy and the thought of motherhood, and to take things as they come...Parenting is a lot of trial and error. Lois tells him that she’s not that way and she *will* be prepared for this baby, her career, and his family. Scene 11 Carly asks Tony for advice about an alcoholic patient of hers. Tony tells her its a hard disease to concur and that admitting you have a problem is the first step. Carly tells Tony how she admires him for how he cares for patients and not just the money. They discuss the Nurses Ball and how she is going to be Lucy’s dresser, Tony’s act. Carly mentions that Lucy is a very single minded determined person..Tony agrees “she got me to marry her”. Carly is surprised since she thought she was married to Alan...Tony says they both were at one point. Carly mentions how its a special lady that can get the two of you and that she hopes that Lucy will tell Carly her secrets. Scene 12 Everyone, except Luke, is in the courtroom. The jury comes in. As the judge is asks for the verdict Luke comes into the courtroom. Justice looks like he is going to confess right there and then....(there was a commercial break at this point) The Forman goes on to say that in all matters relating to Laura and the murder of Damian Smith she is “NOT GUILTY”. Congrats go all around and Justice is visibly relieved. Everyone hugs and kisses...blah blah...and as the reporters swarm over Laura she thinks its a perfect time to talk about Justices re-election campaign. She leaves to talk to the press and Luke walks over to Dara, Justice, and Edward. He asks to talk to Justice alone. Justice says we won but Luke ain’t so happy. He says yeah we won...but Justice who really killed Damien...(very accusatory voice on Luke’s part...and you could see Justice new where this was going) Scene 13 (the scenes with Monica and Dorman alternate between them and Ned and Lois) Monica and Dorman come into Kelly’s...bump into Ned and Lois...and Monica explains about the patient. As they take a seat Dorman quickly notices how Monica made sure that her family new this was just platonic Ned tells Lois that something is definitely going on...he knows that smile all too...well never mind. Lois won’t drop it. Scene 14 Bobby calls Tony at the hospital about the good news and tells him to come down. As he is about to leave we see AJ bumping into Carly. They start talking...how he’s been sober for 45 days and counting and he’s halfway to his goal...90 meetings and 90 days. Carly tells him that’s great since the first and hardest step is admitting you have a problem. AJ wishes Alan and Monica could just be so understanding and Carly seems surprised that they aren’t. AJ tells her that he’s the family screw up and Carly mentions that she thought it was Jason that broke his mothers heart. AJ says that was sorta my fault too and they start talking about Jason, and how they don’t know where he is, and how it doesn’t matter because Jason doesn’t care anyway. Carly can’t understand how that could be with a house like that and all that money. AJ tells her looks can be deceiving but she’s quick to say that with all of that it would make it much easier to deal with. Scene 15 Luke: (showing him the picture) You knew she was innocent. That’s why you didn’t want to take the case in the beginning that’s why you did all those things because of the conflict of interest Justice: Has Laura seen this...has anyone else Luke: Why bother. So the system could do its thing and you would still go free. “What would you have done if she was found guilty” Justice: “She wasn’t” Luke: very loudly “That’s not the point. You played games with my wife’s life. I know WHAT you are Justice Ward and I will NEVER forget it” (this was very tense and very emotional) Scene 16 Lois asks Ned again about the smile and Ned says how its not the first time he’s seen Monica this flirty. That there is something going on...he knows it...Lois doesn’t believe him but stares at Monica and Dorman as she is laughing. Dorman pays for lunch and says that they will have to do this again. Monica reminds him of the patient they need to discuss and Dorman says it doesn’t matter now...I discharged him 2 days ago. This was just a rouse to have lunch...Monica seems very surprised. Scene 17 Carly and AJ discuss sobriety, Jason and how their is nothing for Carly in Florida and she new she would never be really happy there. AJ says how it must be easier for a mother (discussing Monica) not to discuss or look for a child that they know is not there to find...Carly, looking distant, mentions she thinks the child should have a choice...AJ assures her that Jason has a choice. They say good-bye and Carly congratulates him on 45 days and counting. Scene 18 Laura is talking to the reporters about Justice’s campaign and how she will be back on it ASAP. Tony comes in to congratulate them as Edward comes in with drinks for everyone. They toast to Laura. Laura pull Luke aside and asks why he is so miserable when he should be happy. Luke plays it off like he’s just tired. She asks about the tape and he says its a moot point and in the LINE OF THE DAY says because “Justice was served”. As they join the group Luke sees Justice leave the courtroom....and they both look visibly hurt and upset. That’s it...
