                            GH Update for 06/07/96
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
Justus begins final arguments to the court with the shocking announcement that
he killed Damian, except, of course, he didn't. It was the now familiar GH
fantasy sequence. In reality, he sits alone thinking what to do.
Scene 2
In a closed Kelly's, Kevin meets with Tom to discuss GH matters.
Scene 3
People gather around for Lily's funeral service. Sonny places a single rose on
Lily's grave. He talks briefly with several people.
Scene 4
Jax and Brenda discuss returning to Port Charles and telling people about their
wedding.
Scene 5
Tom and Kevin discuss people dying in fires. Kevin mentions that both his
mother and brother died in fires. The real reason he wanted to talk to Tom,
Kevin says, is to discuss their work loads, and he mentions that he's thinking
about teaching an Abnormal Psychology class after the twin study is over. Tom
comments that Kevin must be trying to avoid something or he wouldn't be heaping
more work on himself.
Scene 6
Keesha tells Justus she's sure he'll win the case. When she praises his honesty
and integrity, he says he's no paragon of virtue, but Laura Spencer will not be
punished for something she didn't do.
Scene 7
Tom asks Kevin about the twin study. He tells Kevin that, "I knew Ryan, and
you're no Ryan." Kevin counters that in their early childhood they were very
alike and could even switch personalities for days at a time.
Scene 8
Robin tells Jason how good Lily was when Stone was sick. He says he liked her
and will miss her. She tells him he can always keep a part of her in his heart.
"Oh, I did better than that," he replied enthusiastically, "I kept a part of
her for my key chain."
Scene 9
Sonny grieves over Lily's grave saying he would change things if he could, and
he should be there instead of her. He would "swallow a gun" he swears except
that it would dishonor her. As he stands there, Harry slinks up, and Sonny
snarls, "I figured it was about time you showed your face."
Scene 10
Harry whines that it wasn't supposed to happen like it did. He didn't think
Rivera would go so far. In a well acted controlled steely rage, Sonny orders
Harry to run fast and far away because Lily loved him, and Sonny didn't want
more bloodshed but tomorrow he might feel differently. Harry begins to go,
turns to say something, but in the end leaves silently and sadly.
Scene 11
The newly wedded and wimpified Jax tells Brenda she can have another big
splashy wedding if she wants.
Scene 12
Lucy tracks down the now alone Kevin at Kelly's and begins her usual high speed
babble about the Nurse's Ball; however, Kevin reacts to her machinations by
shouting angrily, "Lucy, would you please shut up!" Lucy is shocked by the
vehemence of the unexpected outburst.
Scene 13
In an emotional scene, Justus gives his closing statement. He goes over all the
prosecutions points one-by-one showing they are spurious or easily explained.
Then he spins a possible scenario for the murder which just happens to be what
really occurred.
Scene 14
When Lucy starts blubbering asking what she did, Kevin snaps that maybe he
doesn't want her yammering. Hurt, she gets up and leaves. Very shortly
afterwards, Kevin undergoes a visible change and suddenly gets up to rush after
her.
Scene 15
ADA Raggedy Jensen gives her closing statement. She tries to portray Laura as a
cold blooded repeat killer. However, several of her points seemed strained,
especially where she claimed that the movie "Natural Born Killers" was a
biography of Laura Spencer, and a photo she produced showed Laura on the
infamous grassy knoll.
Scene 16
Jax wants Brenda to go to Alaska to meet his family.
Scene 17
Kevin stops Lucy to see what upset her. He says he doesn't know what came over
him. She says she won't be his punching bag; she won't stick around for that.
[brava Lucy. Brenda should show such moxie] He asks that she not let go because
he needs her as a life line.
Scene 18
After, Dara's hair gives it's closing remarks. Justus jumps up and yells at the
jury, "If you come back with a guilty verdict, you may as well convict
yourselves. You may as well convict me." Everyone looks at him confused and
concerned.
