From: CUCFAN CGLASS@VUNET.VINU.EDU Subject: GH: Update, Monday June 3, 1996 Date: 4 Jun 1996 17:14:23 -0400 Please forgive any errors or omissions...I didn't have a chance to re-watch & take notes, but I *did* watch most of it twice. I was off yesterday and couldn't resist watching part of it in real time (GAWD, were the ads always this awful??) and clicking over to ATWT on our hour-delayed CBS affiliate to see if it had improved any (NOPE!). So...here you go. :) THE BEGINNING OF IT ALL (in which we, the audience, are assumed to have the brains of...nope, I'm trying to be objective here...) Basically, the beginning is exactly the same as the ending of Friday, repeated for people who missed the excitement on Friday. Same sequence of events, Brenda & Jax walking toward each other and getting married, Lily walking toward the car and getting in and turning it on, ending with the clink of champagne glasses and the explosion and Sonny screaming no. HELL IN PORT CHARLES: At this point, the action picks up where it left off, and Luke and Mike simultaneously grab Sonny, holding him back, but he breaks free and starts to run for the car, and then Jason flies into the scene from nowhere and pretty much slams him into the wall to prevent him from running toward the car, and then there is another explosion. Laura and Bobbie come running out, and Laura, of course, immediately thinks something happened to Luke (not all that far-fetched, considering she just heard about Harper's unfortunate day at the lake). They take Sonny inside and the crowd kind of disperses and gets quiet. Lois and Ned are there as well, and in all the confusion, Lois says, in this teeny tiny voice "Where's Lily?" Jason leaves, and Sonny is led to a table where he sits down with Luke and Laura. Mike gazes at him, wanting to help, but he can't think of a way to do it. Laura tries to talk to Sonny and comfort him, but he does not respond, and Luke says "I know what *I'd* want," and goes to the bar to get a fifth of some kind of whiskey and pours Sonny a shot. It sits untouched, as he stares at it, and Luke turns around, gets a look of hate on his face and says something like "Oh, GOD" and takes a swig of it himself before sitting it back down on the bar, in front of Mike, who turns his gaze to the bottle. Then we see who Luke saw...Garcia, who finds out it was Lily who was killed and almost goes berserk, in his controlled way. They come in to say the ambulance is there, and Sonny leaps up, saying he will go with her, and Luke and everyone tell him not to, and Luke says "You can't see her, Sonny" and says "You don't want to." He sits down and cries. Jason goes to find Robin and tell her, and Mac and Katherine hear it then, and then Mac gets the call, they go separately to Luke's (Robin goes with Jason). When they get there, Robin goes to Sonny immediately and he holds her and cries. He looks up at Jason and orders him to take Robin home and keep her there, and Mac follows her and tells her to stay if you want but keep out of Sonny's sight and let him think he's done some good. Garcia asks where the bodyguards were and Mac said she was with her husband, and Garcia gets sarcastic about the safety of that, and then he says that he warned her that staying married to Sonny was a death sentence, and Mike lunges across the bar and tells him to respect the dead and not say another word about his daughter-in-law and to respect his son. Garcia challenges him to do something about it, saying there are plenty of witnesses and Katherine and Mac manage to calm the situation down. Katherine tries to make Mike feel better about everything, but Mike is not to be consoled, saying that Lily opened a door and there had been a possibility of a relationship between him and Sonny but now that's gone (really? I don't think so) and that he was looking forward to watching Sonny do all the things right that he did wrong. Lois gets really upset and doesn't know why, and Bobbie tells her because lives were wasted here tonight and helps to calm her down. Luke takes Sonny home and offers to come in, and Sonny tells him he doesn't have anything to say. Luke offers to check the place out, and Sonny goes "what are they gonna do, kill me?" Finally, Luke leaves, after a really nice comforting hug between Luke and Sonny, and Sonny goes in, alone. Luke goes back to Luke's and Laura and Mike both say "You left him ALONE?" He says that Sonny didn't want him to stay (so what?!) and that it wasn't his call and that he was tired and wanted to go to bed, and they leave, with Luke saying "don't even THINK about court tomorrow," or something like that. Mac tells Garcia that if he has a problem to feel free to replace himself. Garcia says "a problem? with Corinthos?" and Mac says no, with his wife. Garcia acts like he doesn't know what Mac is talking about, and Mac says "all I know is how it looks." At the end of the evening, Katherine tells Mac that he was just wonderful, that he was so compassionate and considerate of everyone's feelings, that he knew just what to say to help everyone, and it really impressed her. He said "you're tired and you need some rest," no doubt in shock over something selfless coming out of her mouth, I know I was. She smiled and said that was exactly what she had been talking about. Jason is at Robin's house and she is upset, suddenly gets Sonny's housekey out of her purse, and Jason tells her no, she can't go over there. He pulls an envelope out of his jacket and says he will go, he had a reason, that he was supposed to deliver this envelope to Sonny but in all the confusion he forgot to do that. She gives him the housekey and makes him promise not to leave Sonny alone, no matter what he does or says. Jason goes over, and Sonny is sitting in the apartment, and Jason lets himself in (talk about a risk! Jeez!) and Sonny stares at him and says "Why the HELL do you have a key to my house?!" and asks him why isn't he with Robin like he said. Jason says that Robin gave him the key and told him to come over. Sonny says "Is that the way you obey...is that the way you obey an order?" and gets angry. He says he had this envelope to deliver and Sonny takes it from him and says that they were going to Puerto Rico the next day and these are their plane tickets and gets choked up again. Jason sits down then, and Sonny asks what he's doing? This may have come actually right after the obey an order comment, but I'm not sure. Jason says that yes, Sonny had ordered him to stay with Robin, but Robin said for him to come over and stay with Sonny, and this is just a job and Robin's worth more than that. Sonny yells "I don't give a DAMN WHAT ROBIN SAID!!" and Jason says "well, all you can do is fire me." and Sonny whispers (literally, we at home could barely hear it) "you think that's the most I can do to you?" and then he yells it. Jason says "I don't need anything, I'll just be here" and Sonny goes up to bed, interrupted by Jason saying "It's not your fault." He pauses halfway up the stairs and begins to cry again. HEAVEN IN THE MEDITERRANEAN: Blissfully unaware of all of the happenings back home, Brenda and Jax feed each other wedding cake and hold each other, look at the stars, and then they begin to talk. She points out to him that she is a married woman and she doesn't even know her address or what time zone she's in or what she will do from this point on, and he says that they don't need a map of the future, just to take it day by day, and then he says if she insists on a plan, that they can look at the stars and then take a moonlight swim, and then make love all night, and then have breakfast in bed, and then have a morning swim, and so they stand together and look at the stars. A bit later he holds her on his lap and she admits to feeling a little bit scared about being single one minute and married the next, and he says it's only natural, and he asks if she had ever thought she would marry Sonny? She says she thought he didn't want to talk about it, and he says he does. She said yes, of course she did, and he asks how long were they happy together, and she says "not long" and he asks how long they were miserable together, and she says "most of the time" (I think, I'm trying to remember & can't). Then he says that since her concept of marriage was being miserable together, that it's only natural that she is afraid of it, but that she will fall in love with him and one day she will look back and say "that didn't hurt at all." They get up to take their moonlight swim (this may have actually been before this conversation, can't remember) and he takes off his shirt, and the camera focuses on his stomach as he unzips his pants and takes them off, and she unzips her dress, flirting with him as she does so (Have I mentioned that I LOVE her hair like this??) and then they proceed to make love right there on the deck.
