Daily Updates
Date: Mon, 20 May 1996 00:02:10 CDT From: John R. Andrews U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 05/17/96 GH Update for 05/17/96 By John R. Andrews, UIC The morning after, an anguished looking Lily recalls the scene of Sonny and Brenda. Sonny appears and asks her why she's up early. When she blows him off curtly, he asks what's wrong and why she is avoiding him. Scene 1 Bobbie whines to Luke about having to testify for the prosecution. Nearby, Simone is still fuming over being twisted on the stand by ADA Medusa [her hair just gives me the creeps; reminds me of little snakes]. The press-dingos nip at Justus until he has to get into court. Unexpectedly, AJ steps up and takes over artfully. Scene 2 Harper stops Edward on his way into the courtroom, and says he owes gambling debts and starts to put the monetary squeeze on again. When Eddie balks, Harper says he still has a copy of the Justus video and will send it to "America's Funniest Murders" unless he gets more money; Edward still refuses. Scene 3 AJ puts on a good show for the press (and Keesha) handling all their questions about Justus' campaign. Scene 4 Dara Jensen congratulates Tom for his advice on jury manipulation. Felicia is displeased and walks off. Scene 5 Lucy banters with Kevin about the heat and her battles with Katherine. Finally, court comes to order, and Bobbie is called to the stand. Scene 6 Lily tells Sonny she's not avoiding him; she's just in a weird mood. When the phone rings, Lily answers, but no one is there. She turns to Sonny and with a tone of tired resignation says, "Sonny, please, just tell her to ask for you next time." "I'm not having an affair," he lamely replies. She tells him she never intended for their home to be a prison. When he tries to protest, she counters saying he's obviously no longer at peace, and it hurts her, so it must stop. Scene 7 The prosecutor questions Bobbie about the night of the fire. Specifically, she asks about the baby Bobbie and Tony cared for at home and gets Bobbie to testify that she observed no indications of the ear infection Laura claimed he had. During the testimony an officer hands Luke a note from Harper which says to meet him later on the docks. Scene 8 In a good scene between Lily and Sonny, she asks if he wants her to move out. He stammers that no one is moving out. When he says that he never lied to her, she counters that it was because she never asked the questions that would make him lie. As she leaves for work, he tells her he'll be there when she gets home. "Only if you *want* to," she replied and left. Scene 9 Outside the courtroom, the press questions EdQ as to why he's there. Afterwards, Harper stops him and tells him he's meeting Luke later, and the tape goes to the highest bidder. Scene 10 At a sidebar, the judge admonishes the ADA for speechifying and having really ugly hair, but also grants her a bit of latitude in questioning Bobbie since the judge was writing a book and needed more explicit sexual testimony to spice it up. Scene 11 As the questioning of Bobbie continued, Kevin begins to succumb to the heat and starts to visualize Ryan going up in flames. He suddenly bolts from the courtroom and assaults a photographer who tried to take his picture. Scene 12 Lucy tries to smooth over the incident to the press, while Simone looks over Kevin who says the heat just got to him. Scene 13 Luke tells Laura about Harper's note and says he's got to check it out. Scene 14 Lucy questions Kevin about his "breakdown," but he pooh-pooh's it. Scene 15 In some seedy court building store room, libido inflamed Tom and Felicia practice for their upcoming Cinemax specials, "What's Love Got To Do With It" and "We Made Love on the Xerox Machine and Had Multiple Orgasms." Scene 16 Justus and ADA Jensen exchange jibes then get stuck alone in an elevator between floors when the power goes out. Scene 17 Sonny sits and flashesback to Brenda's pathetic begging. Scene 18 On the docks, Edward confronts Harper saying he paid of his gambling debts then offers him on million dollars to disappear or else. Before, Harper can accept, Luke arrives and starts questioning them. When EQ says Harper set up Lucky to get beat up, Luke prepares to kick some slug-butt. In the scuffle, Harper drops the video tape which Edward, unseen by Luke, pushes into the river. In the end, Harper falls into the river and despite Edward's plea that Luke let him drown, Luke jumps in after him. Scene 19 ADA Jensen paces the elevator while her hair eyes Justus hungrily. Scene 20 Keesha tells AJ she's thinking of moving out on her own. AJ likes the sound of that. Scene 21 Lily arrives home to find Sonny waiting. Since the power was out, he suggests they go out eat. They each have their own thoughts, but are unable to share them. Scene 22 Justus boosts Dara up to look out the elevator top and gets a face full of chest as a reward. After a few uncomfortable moments, they settle down to wait for rescue. Scene 23 Tom and Felicia decide to tell Simone they've plugged a few holes on the roof so to speak. Scene 24 Edward pulls Luke alone out of the river; Harper is presumably now playing with the angels.
