Subject: Sent: 4/22/96 11:11 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com And after the exchange students, it's JURY DUTY! So here is the Pretty Darn Late Update for Thursday, April 11. THE SIDAR THAT REFUSES TO DIE Brenda is walking on the beach, remembering Sonny and Puerto Rico. The song in the background is "I'm dying inside, and nobody knows it but me" [and half of Port Charles!] Jax, showing off his Baywatch chest, comes in after his warmup before his workout. She admits that she's not as devoted to her fitness as he is. He says he has "Discipline, focus, and faith." He shows her his Aboriginal charm. As a boy back in Australia he had a Native friend, who went on "walkabout" for his manhood initiation. Jax was jealous, at 10, so he did his own. "My parents almost killed me." He gives the charm to Brenda to hold while he works out. Later they are walking in Venice and reading their lines into the tape. There's a nifty cat on the walk, who I hope got "Extra" pay! Still later, seatbeltless, Brenda stands in the convertible while Jax drives Mulholland Drive. [This sort of behavior makes her a perfect mate for Morgan, NewJason.] You can see L.A. through the smog, though "beautiful!" is not one of the adjectives *I* would use! Suddenly night falls. Brenda says: "I must be crazy. [yes, yes, tell us something we DON'T know!] I've had so much fun with you. I've had such a good time. I don't know why I want to leave." Jax warns her: "Once it's yours, it won't make you happy." They hug. Tease the viewers with a couple of near-kisses. And she gives him back the charm. MANIPULATIVE LILY Sonny is pensive, possibly also remembering Puerto Rico and Brenda. Lily comes in. She has talked to her father. It's so nice she gave him a second chance, and on that topic "do you have any special plans for tonight?" She will attempt to cook chicken. Later, we see her remove the chicken from the oven. "Ah," she says. "Perfect. What a shame." She ignites it while on the phone to Mike pleading for his help as she's ruined dinner. [Your Fearless Updater was cheering: RATSAGHs are right, well at least halfway, she *is* a manipulator! Not an *evil* one, yet, but there's hope!] Mike comes over bearing bags of beef and veggies. "You know how to peel potatoes?" "Under supervision." [Well, NOT, as it turns out, I am amazed she still has ten fingers!] They discuss Brenda's accident, Sonny, etc. Once the roast is in the oven, Mike wants to see the former disaster. "Pretty superficial burn. Looks like a case of arson!" She knew he wouldn't come over if she just invited him straight out, so she thought she would "cook something up." They are giggling over this when Sonny comes in. Lily flutters and fidgets and "leaves to make a phone call." Sonny wants to know if Mike has held up a butcher shop. They argue about how to cook a roast. They argue about how to treat a wife. They talk about the accident. Lily rejoins them and invites Mike to dinner, but he leaves. Sonny and Lily argue over Mike and the roast really does burn. A HOLE INSIDE Lucy is dithering, and Kevin is off to his first day of research with the Twin Study. But what is Lucy supposed to do without a company to run? He suggests she go shopping. Or have her hair done. Or get a tattoo. Where? On her forearm where he could read it. It would say "I, Lucy Coe, and resilient, brilliant, creative, and Kevin loves me." They kiss. He leaves. She rubs her forearm thoughtfully and says "That would really, really hurt." Lucy calls everyone in town, trying to find Jax. She calls Addy [Surely someone is FGC Addy, she's great!] who hasn't heard from Jax either. In a surprise guest appearance, T&T are being interviewed by Kevin. We like the same music, the same period in art, the same ethnic foods..." "Well, you prefer Northern Italian..." "right..." "It's not as though we're totally absolutely..." "identical..." " but we're attracted to the same men, too [And looks like Doc Kev is one of them!]..." "This could be a problem..." Kevin asks about differences and they chorus "They're pretty superficial, they don't amount to much." Lucy, knocking first, barges in, and tries to get Kevin to pay attention to her emergency, after a slight territorial aside to the twins [Hands off, girls, this is MINE!] She can't find Jax. "This is critical to my career." "So is this, to mine" he asserts, throwing her out. Later, Kevin is watching a video. Turns out these twins were separated young. "As long as I can remember, I had this strange feeling, like there was another place inside where I was that I ought to be." "For me it was sorta like being haunted but by something that wasn't there, if you follow me." One look at Kevin, and we know that yes, indeed, he is following them. [In this Fearless Updater's opinion, this is VERY IMPORTANT. It's not Ryan, but it's the Ryan-place in Kevin, the place that is haunting him.] Lucy comes in and is upset by this, though I don't think she really knows why. The twins continue: "It was as if when I found LeeAnn, I found a missing piece of myself." Lucy turns off the video, but she can't turn off Kevin's concentration, and he looks at her and sees a blonde. He finally returns to this dimension and says "Lucy!" He kisses her. Then he throws everything off the small marble coffee table and begins to make love to her [that would really, really, hurt.] NICK & NORA, YOUR REPUTATION IS SAFE [Reference Garcia made to the Thin Man series, but Cary Grant (? wasn't it?) actually solved things!] Tom and Felicia are in the Interrogation Room, the room all Port Charles can see into and hear. They are looking at pictures trying to figure out whodunnit. First, of course, they argue about the arrangement. Then about how to alphabetize. Felicia has a hard time speculating about "Which one of our friends is a murderer?" They start with Bobbie. Tom starts sounding like a courtroom lawyer. She does happen to be a woman of passion. "Passion. Humiliation. And Anger." Tom gets worked up. Felicia points out that it's like the fantasies. She says: "Every time we face reality, we run in opposite directions." She leaves with half the pictures. When Felicia returns, she sees Mac's picture up and Tom's list about him. She goes to get Garcia and convince him that Tom is completely wrong. Meanwhile, Tom comes in with takeout lunch. Garcia, shaking his head, leaves, saying "I'll leave you to play Nick and Nora by yourselves." Tom and Felicia argue. And flirt. And kiss, which must have amused Garcia and Officer Rick in the other room. Then they comment that it could just as easily be Luke Spencer. Garcia, who is watching this part for sure, looks like the cat who ate the cream.
