                            GH Update for 03/29/96
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

Scene 1
Lucy shows up at Kevin's expecting to find the place empty but is surprised to
find Kevin at home painting.
Scene 2
Brenda chats with Lois about going to the Ward House Benefit and seeing Ned
perform. Lois hints that she's changed the plans.
Scene 3
Mike and Jason banter at Luke's just before the people arrive. Jason will be
parking cars.
Scene 4
Ned and Edward discuss the benefit. Ned tells him that his Eddie Main
performance will remind Lois of her love for him.
Scene 5
Lois tells Brenda that she's booked the group All-4-One instead of the Idle
Rich who have been given the night off unbeknownst to Ned. Lois admits that
she couldn't handle watching Eddie Main right now.
Scene 6
Lucy wants to know why Kevin's been home from London and not called her. He
says he was distracted partly and also it was an exhausting trip. She
expresses a fear that he's falling into "that dark twin place" in his mind. She
also fears to see what he's painted since it's usually something dark and
depressing.
Scene 7
Tom visits Felicia who is planning their next fantasy date [my fantasy is
they'll stop writing these stupid scenes]. He says if she doesn't give him a
hint he might not show up.
Scene 8
Keesha cajoles the reluctant AJ to go to the benefit with her. [once more
proving that a guy will do practically anything if there's even the slightest
chance he'll get lucky some day in the future]
Scene 9
Brenda and Jax arrive at Luke's and are greeted cordially by Lily and Sonny,
well by Lily, at least. Ned buttonholes Lois asking about the Idle Rich's
whereabouts. She drops it on him that they're not performing and neither is he.
Scene 10
Edward and Lila arrive, and Edward confronts Jason. When Jason parks their car
less than cautiously, Edward demands that Luke fire him (mostly because he's
embarrassed to have a Quartermain parking cars). Luke, of course, refuses, but
Jason quits instead. After he leaves, an angry Luke tells Edward that since he
made Jason quit, he must now fill in as the valet, otherwise all the potential
benefit donors will just drive off.
Scene 11
Lois plays the bitch to Ned while Brenda and Jax look on from the bar.
Scene 12
Lucy is amazed that Kevin has, in fact, painted a really dumb looking duck
picture (it looked like it was surfing to me).
Scene 13
Felicia tells Tom the fantasy will not be on the roof but will be in her
apartment, and he should expect the unexpected.
Scene 14
Edward tells Luke no way, but Lily orders him curtly to do what Luke says or
find some other place to lay his head.
Scene 15
The newly introduced African-American ADA (Assistant District Attorney)
subtextually flirts with Justus in front of Simone.
Scene 16
Jax queries Lois about her troubles with Ned prompting the line of the day from
her, "...don't go dancing in the streets, ok, just 'cause I'm furious with my
husband, doesn't mean I don't love him more than life itself."
Scene 17
Tom and Felicia begin their touchy-feely fantasy the theme of which is trusting
and letting go. Felicia blindfolds Tom and proceeds to "stimulate" him with
various scents, sounds, and touches, e.g. a rose, chimes, and incense (no
peppermints).
Scene 18
Luke introduces the band All-4-One who sing the whole scene while we get the
usual shots of the various club denizens listening.
Scene 19
Back at Felicia's, she asks if he trusts her. Next, she removes his blindfold
and puts it on herself.
Scene 20
Laura, clad in an only slightly less drab outfit than usual, introduces Justus
who talks about the Ward House then unexpectedly announces Eddie Main. Ned, as
Eddie, sings a song about seeing the love back in a lover's eyes during which
we see another Brenda fantasy of Sonny and she dancing. After the song, an
obviously affected Sonny tells Lily he has to get out of there.
Scene 21
An apparently post-coital Kevin leaves the sleeping Lucy to go start on a new
painting presumably less upbeat than the previous Daffy Duck depiction.
Scene 22
For some reason, Tom balks at performing his part on the blindfolded Felicia
despite her assurances that she trusts him. He wordlessly exits the apartment
leaving her confused and concerned. [maybe she over-stimulated him, and he was
no longer master of his own fate :)].
Scene 23
Keesha thanks AJ for escorting her to the benefit. Lois comes over and remarks
that she was just trying to help, and he should feel free to come to her to
talk if he needs to. Keesha also makes the same offer without suspecting what
Lois was talking about.
Scene 24
Jax and Brenda prepare to leave and decide to take Lois with them. Before they
can split though, Ned insists to talking to Lois. She tells him she's not being
stubborn just for the sake of it, but when he called her an outsider, it broke
her heart.
Scene 25
Outside, Edward tallies up $75 in tips. When Jax and Brenda come out, she
exchanges glances with Sonny who's also waiting for his car. Suddenly, a
clandestine figure starts a nearby car and floors the gas pedal. Lily sees it
coming and yells, "No!" then apparently, rushes to try to pull Brenda out of
the car's path.

Correction: An observant reader tells me that in scene 20, it was actually Sonny's fantasy and not Brenda's. I didn't pay too much attention to this scene myself when watching Friday's show, but I assume from the scene's description that it really was Sonny's fantasy. -- Jeff
