From: jyarnot@netcom.com (Jan Yarnot) Subject: GH: Update Thursday March 7 Date: Thu, 14 Mar 1996 15:13:02 GMT HUNKA HUNKA BURNING LOVE The Quartermaine Sitting Room at breakfast. Lila is being served by Reginald and Edward is pacing. Ned and Lois breeze in and Edward starts in on Ned, he's unhappy with Deception. Sales have plummeted. "We're not in business to provide entertainment for Lucy Coe." Monica, who has come in, tells Edward to "Put a sock in it!" (Lois has been REALLY good for this family!) "Lucy is a luxury we can't afford." Ned points out that as Lucy has 10% of ELQ stock, she could sell to an enemy or even worse, take an active interest. Edward grumbles, blaming Lois for making a corporate shark into a bleeding heart liberal. Lois says it's an improvement and Lila agrees. Edward harrumphs: "You can just see ME in leather pants!" Lila (dressed in a beautiful red today) stares into space and does, there's Eddie the Q singing "hunka hunka burning love" in front of a band, wooing the mike, wiggling his hips, he'd be censored on the Ed Sullivan show, he's GORGEOUS! [Feeling his oats after Cindy Crawford, yes?] A GLITCH IN THE PSYCHIC VIBES Kevin and Lucy are together. "A penny for your thoughts?" queries Doc Kev. "You might want to rethink how you spend your money..." Lucy has a bad feeling about Deception, just as Edward is fulminating about it. They [NO, *Kevin* and Lucy!] kiss. Then she goes to work. At the office, Jax is admitted, and the first thing Lucy says is "Take off your shirt, I want to see your chest." She runs him through modelling paces. "Where are you from?" Jax replies "Mother says I come from Heaven." Then he wants to know what direction the campaign will take. Lucy, whose psychic powers appear to have been stolen with that kiss, looks puzzled as to why he would want to know. At the Outback, Jax comes in and Mac looks deadly. Mac wants the ten grand Jax owes him. Jax sees Lucy, who is there with Kevin. It takes her a while to realize that her "model" of the morning is actually Jax of Jax Cosmetics. Jax grins: "I took off my shirt the moment she asked." Lucy thinks it's fabulous and starts plotting to get Jax to buy Deception, and have herself run all of Jax Cosmetics. Mac warns her that Jax is dangerous. The warning runs off her like water off Sigmund's back, it's Damian all over again. Kevin looks bemused. A GLITCH IN THE LIFE At the hospital, Amy is chattering about how great it is that Alan is Monica's secret admirer. Mrs. Donato, the social worker, comes by with "another happy ending." Bobbie pulls her aside to discuss Diane and Diane's baby. Andrew (the baby) is already sleeping through the night. Bobbie thinks this is a sign of neglect. [Talk to Lucas about neglect, Bobbie!] Audrey is watching this with a worried look, but of course she could just be wondering who these people are. Bobbie calls Diane and assures her the baby is fine. She goes to see the babies at the nursery and picks up a little girl. A GLITCH IN THE BRAIN Alan and Monica are at the Quartermaine's, eavesdropping central, and discussing Jason. "Obviously he's not going to be a doctor. He lacks basic coping skills, both academic and emotional. I think college is out of the question." Monica adds that he can't even ride a bus alone. The Quartermaine-who-used-to-be-Jason (%) overhears this. Back in his room, with the blinds making "bars" both on the window and in the mirror, he looks through his drawers and finds his checkbook. [He has architecture blocks on his bedtable! GREAT!!!] He finds his backpack and keys. Leaving, he sees Lila and cleverly calls her "grandmother." Lila is thrilled, and % asks her which car is his. It's the little red sports car. At the hospital, Amy, all a-twitter, gives Monica a new "secret admirer" gift, a music box. Alan is not pleased, but just then the phone rings. It's Lila, telling about % and the car. % drives to LUKE'S looking for Sonny. He buys a burger and Sonny and he talk about it: "An enchanted chicken leg." Sonny adds: "A miraculous cucumber sandwich." Sonny understands that % would like to just change into someone else. "You look right through people and they don't like it, especially the Quartermaines." Sonny is not being nice to "Jason" because of pity, but because of the way % "dumped the table the other night." % asks: "What's wrong? Are you brain-damaged?" [He's been reading RATSA!] Sonny tells % never to hit anyone smaller or weaker than you are. "Hit AJ all you want. He's a total jerk." The cops come in, but not to hassle Sonny. They want to take "Jason" "home." Ned is fighting with Edward over calling the cops. Alan and Monica are arguing with him. Reginald comes in announcing a furious (and who can blame him?) "Master Jason." % checks with Ned: "What did I do wrong?" He tells Lila he didn't mean to frighten her. Alan tells % he's not ready to drive the car and % counters that "you don't think I can ride the bus." Edward puts his foot down, forbidding him to drive a car. % storms out. They mourn the loss of Jason. Alan, in a poignant scene, tells Edward that Jason got straight A's last quarter. They talk about sons, fathers, disappointment, love. But by dinnertime, all is normal and they are all squabbling about whether to send out the cops looking for Jason again, whether to hold dinner, etc. Just then even they are drowned out: the roar turns into a leather-clad % on a new motorcycle, which he rides into the sitting room.
