                            GH Update for 03/01/96
                            By John R. Andrews, UIC

I hope everyone had a wonderful Pig Day (March 1st). It was a glorious Year of
the Pig last year. Who would have thought a movie starring a small porker would
be so highly acclaimed. I dedicate this update to pigs everywhere, highly
intelligent animals, yet, still so flavorful.

Scene 1
The porcine Bobbie and Maxie look for things to use for Maxie's school play
costume.
Scene 2
Jax brings home the bacon, well, oysters and brown bread, from Ireland for
Brenda and Lois to pig out on.
Scene 3
Lily returns home early to Sonny just as Jax' oysters are delivered. Lily is
impressed, but Sonny is less than thrilled; however, he manages to slop a few
down anyway as well as feeding them to Lily. [I personally feared for Sonny's
fingers when he slid one down Lily's gaping maw.]
Scene 4
Jax spins a twisted tale about Ireland to L&B.
Scene 5
Bobbie helps Maxie with some play costume. When Maxie brings up BJ, Bobbie
gets that doey eyed look. Maxie says she still misses BJ, and Bobbie agrees.
While going through some old jewelry together, Bobbie finds a pin Ruby gave her
at Maxie's age and gives it to her. When she asks Bobbie to pin it on just over
her heart (BJ's remember), Bobbie again gets a rueful look.
Scene 6
After hogging most of the oysters, Lily remarks that she's like them to take a
long trip to her father's ranch in Spain or maybe travel around Europe since
they have time now but won't later. Sonny says ok, but first he want's to know
the real reason she's asking.
Scene 7
Katherine meets with Edward over lunch to return the bond money he put up.
Edward comments that Katherine reminds him of Tracy [another foreshadow of her
return]. Katherine shamelessly flatters Edward to the point he practically
blushes.
Scene 8
Bobbie half teary-eyed puts the pin on Maxie. When she leaves, Bobbie lies down
and stares soulfully.
Scene 9
Ned arrives home and is not all that happy to see Jax in his house. After a
bit of testosteronic bantering, Jax excuses himself, and despite Brenda's
shameless bid for an invite along, he leaves alone, causing her to ask Ned and
Lois if she's losing her sex appeal.
[No, Brenda, just all traces of self-respect]
Scene 10
Lily tries to explain that she doesn't want to share Sonny for a while. He
asks if it's about Brenda, and she answers emphatically no, [you believe that?]
and again suggests the ranch.
Scene 11
Katherine plays sweet and sour
with Edward and won't say exactly what she's really up
to. After Edward leaves, she looks over at the next table and is stunned to see
Damian watching her. He immediately joins her saying he's bored. She insults
him a few times, and he returns some not to flattering remarks about her
various appetites. He tells her she'll never make a silk purse out of the
sow's ear Scorpio. However, eventually, he comments that he may be in deep
trouble and is trying to save his own bacon.
Scene 12
Brenda, doing a Jan Brady imitation ["Lois, Lois, Lois"], whines that she's not
getting enough attention. After all, she comments, *she* is the face of
deception. Ned tells her to stop wallowing in self-pity if she wants attention
she knows how to get it; start competing with Lois.
Scene 13
Bobbie dreams a Twin Peakesque montage featuring light streaming through a
blinds and a single red rose [no dwarf though]. Tony awakens her, and she
tries to explain the dream.
Scene 14
Lois balks at the very idea of competing, and her and Brenda harp at Ned like
demented magpies about the stupidity of men [of course, they don't give Ned a
chance to explain himself at all].
Scene 15
Damian tells Katherine that are out to kill him. When she tells him she
doesn't care, he tries desperately to push some of her old buttons, e.g. you
cared once; I can't let you go. To her credit [Brenda listen up], she won't be
manipulated and gives him the cold shoulder leaving him alone at the table
to figure out how to keep his fat out of the fire.
