Daily Updates
Date: Sun, 4 Feb 1996 20:15:17 CST From: U14780@uicvm.uic.edu Subject: GH: Update for Fri 02/02/96 GH Update for 02/02/96 By John R. Andrews, UIC In celebration of Groundhog Day, the citizens of PC watched their local rodent hole, the Outback, to see if PC's favorite pig Bobbie Spencer would emerge and see her shadow (how could you miss it), thus signaling six more weeks of bad story lines before Spring. Scene 1 In a collage of overlapping scenes, Sonny and Lily prepare for the impending nuptials. Scene 2 Brenda mopes in to see Ned and ask, "Where's Lois?" "Alaska," he answers. "Why do you have to ask her?" she inquires. Scene 3 Lois chats with Jax [I like Jax better than Jacks] while flying back from Alaska. He continues to shamelessly flirt with her. Scene 4 Robin talks to Mac and Katherine as she heads out for the wedding passing Lucy who's on the way in. Lucy tells them she's going to San Antonio to find Damian. Scene 5 Lucy rants on about her psychic visions of Damian, and announces she'll go to San Antonio and wait for more impressions to hit her. Eventually, Mac hears enough and phones Kevin. Scene 6 Lois is dazzled by the Alaskan landscape below. Jax and she chat about Jax's family especially his mother. Suddenly, he asks if she likes oysters; when she says yes, he decides they should fly to Ireland for some. Scene 7 Back home, Ned rambles on to Brenda about Lois' mystery plans that ended her up in Alaska with Jax. Finally, true to form, Braindead self-centeredly interrupts saying, "I need her." Scene 8 A hungover Luke, stops by Sonny's to pick him up for the wedding. Sonny say's he's cool, but a bit nervous. Scene 9 Robin stops by to help Lily get ready. Scene 10 Brenda paces around with the face of a Bassett hound, when suddenly the door bursts open and, gasp, it's a ... homicidal maniac? no worse, a pack of rabid wild dogs? no worse, a hideously deformed monster? close but worse, it's Miguel! "We have to stop them," the pathetic-one whimpers to him. Scene 11 Brenda rants on and on like a delusional adolescent, but unbelievably, Miguel tries to get her to be sensible. Scene 12 Luke and Sonny discuss Lily's many attributes. Scene 13 Lois insists that Jax take her back home and not to Ireland [this was stupid anyway as she had no passport or visa; besides, it's a rather long way from Alaska to Ireland]. He argues and changes his mind several times having fun flirting and bantering with her. Scene 14 Robin does the something old, something new, thing with Lily, and they gush over how great Sonny is and how great their life will be. Scene 15 Miguel tells Brenda that even though he loves Lily, he can't trust her so they will never be together again. He says that is what Sonny was telling her too, so she should believe him. They should celebrate the wedding because now they can get on with their lives. Brenda doesn't really want to hear this. "Where's Lois?" Miguel asks. "Alaska," she answers. "Why do you need to ask her?" he queries. Scene 16 Lucy emphatically tells Kevin that she's going to San Antonio. Kevin tries desperately to talk her out of it, but they end up in a serious argument about trust, and eventually, Lucy storms out. Scene 17 Lucky arrives at the church sans Laura and LuLu whose ears are acting up yet again. Soon, the ceremony begins with the obligatory "Here Comes the Bride." Senior Rivera leads his daughter down the aisle where the dapper Sonny awaits. Meanwhile, Brenda the Stalker watches secretly from outside. Slowly, she creeps in. Scene 18 Mac tries to assure Katherine everything will be ok. As she plants her cod-like lips on him, the phone interrupts. Letting the answering machine pick up, they hear Lucy say she's at the airport headed for San Antonio. Mac lunges for the phone dumping Trout-Mouth but unfortunately is too late to catch Lucy. Scene 19 As the priest asks Lily the crucial "I do" question, she stuns everyone by answering, "No, I can't ask you to do this." A bewildered Brenda looks on uncomprehendingly.
